- At Import vs Domestic - World Cup Finals, we’re used to seeing lots of civics. But an AWD civic? Now THAT is out of the ordinary. What’s better? It’s pushing 1300hp and makes 7 second passes with EASE! Props to Steve and the team at CLM Motorsports for creating such a beautiful and badass car. It was easily one of the most entertaining cars to watch at WCF!

For what they are, it's amazing what CAN be done with them. However, this video is a rare example of someone actually doing it right. The vast majority of honda "tuners" simply throw a cheap turbo in, modify the exhaust, and make the body look cheesy and tryhard as fuck.

Ricardo Rodriguez reaction time has nothing to do with your overall et. Reaction time just shows who gets off the line first. Your et doesn’t start till you leave the line. The main reason an awd car hasn’t beat the speedfactory civic is because it’s heavier and doesn’t make as much power

In Maryland our car scene is known for having lots of quick 4-bangers, but this is one of the best ones I've seen. That said, I'm disappointed to not see that last race. The staging duel was great and all, but not when they DQ themselves. I'm disappointed in the racers, track officials, but most of all locals who own property near a race facility, but don't want to hear loud noises past 10pm.

Way different classes, Red Demon would kill it.Red Demon runs outlaw class. SFWD are more or less "street cars"(i use that term loosely) where if you look at the Red Demon it doesnt even have headlights, is allowed to be back-halfed, etc.
Real Streets S2000 runs outlaw class would be a better comparison as they run the same class.

I live in tijuana i seen i few that look heavly modify similar to his they let you use them. Comparing to California due to smog and cops in LA OR San Diego are inspecting vehicles if they see something look raceout on the street they profile you. That why there alot in tijuana they dont care if you bring that awd civic in the street in TJ

Why do the cars sometimes refuse to stage? Is there an advantage to staging first or second? Clearly there's something.
If both cars are turbo they have to build boost before they stage, the first one two stage has to stay on their two step longer and they don't like the wear and tear it puts on the motor or the extra heat on the motor before the run.
And reaction time could be messed up also

Yeah... It's usually because a turbo car needs to spool up for a second before full stage to execute their best launch. The bitch in the Mustang basically refused to let them launch like they normally would. At least it cost her too.

1300hp from a 4 banger wow, I know it’s heavily modified and boosted like crazy but still amazing. Puts down the power too with the AWD. This car would be a monster on the streets so loud and shooting flames haha I love it.

Hugsy Wugsy nah both cars didn't want to stage.The foxbody was the scumbag wanting for the civic to break or something at stage,but the guy on the civic caught on the game and didn't stage neither so both of them were disqualified for holding the track plus it was curfew hour which it's a 10,000$ fine for the track so thats why they did this.

Bambi Citizen from what i get of the staging game, Non boosted cars take forever to stage to keep boosted cars on their launch for ageeees, causing damage etc, Civic picked up on the scumbag game and didn't stage either, both sat waiting for each other for too long and got DQd
My guess it is a city/county ordinance where they have a certain time to wrap things up because of the noise factor or face a fine. The drivers were not very smart for taking the staging battle to the extreme holding up the race like that. I don't blame the track officials for the DQ for both cars to avoid the 10K fine.
In addition, there were also other classes waiting to run so they were holding up the event.

Hey there 2019 watcher, can someone explain why the last race got DQ'd? What's staging and why didn't either want to do it. thanks
TLDR: Staging is the act of getting cars into the correct start position for a fair race. Staging games are common in competition when both lanes try to gain the advantage of being last to stage. More info about this below, if you feel like learning more.
Staging is when the cars line up to the staging lights (tree). These days there are lasers that help move cars into precise positions by tripping the laser's path by the tire. That lights up the first light on your side. There is then a second laser to trip that sets the second lights on your side. This means you are staged.
With that basic info now known, there comes the second part of your question. There is lots of strategy and mind games in staging. While there is no true rules for how to stage, beyond get staged and dont move till the tree drops. Its common staging etiquette to light your first set then wait for the other lane to also light their first set. (meaning both are in pre stage position). Then you roll forward again and stage. But this is where the mind games come in.
See, once both lanes are staged (both sets of lights lit on both sides) the tree will trigger and the race will start on green. SO being the second person to set your second set of lights gives you a slight advantage because of having a much better idea of when the tree will start.
In this case, neither driver wanted to give up the second position to gain that advantage. And the track officials got tired of the "staging games" and dq'd them both because of going past track hours.
There is also strategy beyond just who gets last stage, because with turbo drag cars, they use programs to build boost at a stop (while staged) and the more you can build the better. But you dont want to just sit there antilagging your engine waiting forever for the other to stage.
There are also staging strategies of how far you roll into a stage (deep or shallow) by how far you roll past the point of tripping the beam without rolling past and creating a false stage. Deep staging helps with faster reaction times and shortens the track ever so slightly, but requires much better reaction accuracy as well. Shallow staging helps by giving a grace period for your car drivetrain to get you moving and can help with reaction times by allowing you to leave a bit earlier than green without red lighting.
