It’s about 830 and I’m in the middle of packing to go on a six day vacation and my buckles came undone. You saved me so much anxiety thank you for yours information.
What I like most about your tutorial is using a bright color webbing that I can see against the black buckle. So easy to follow with the red webbing. Great video!
Aren't you lovely for making such a useful video! I was quite flummoxed by the buckle I had to afix...and there you were to help me. Thank you so much. I don't know you at all, but you've done me a bit of service and you have both my thanks and my best wishes in future.
SO glad to have found this, I am using this closure for the first time and had no idea how to add it to the webbing. Thank you for this clear instructional video.
Oh!
Thank you very much! I wasn’t sure how to connect all the parts to work correctly, but now I can successfully use plastic connectors I have had for awhile.
@@SpencerOgg I was trying to figure them out. I was a backpacker and hiker not long ago, I knew how to do that back in the day. Saw your youtube, viola! Thank you!!
This was very helpful, thank you!! I bought a vintage suitcase at an antique store and it was missing the buckles on the inside straps, so thanks to you I was able to put new ones in!😁
Thank you so much and other creators for content like this, because I was out one day biking when my sling backpack strap slipped loose and it was irritating not know how to get it back like it was before, thanks♥️
I have had to start to wear a hip fixation brace quite bulky but useful and comfortable but the velcro wasn't stopping in place brought these and some wide stiff elastic and made my own straps I've just been back to the hospital for a checkup to see how I'm getting on with it my consultant was very impressed with how I sewed them he said it was much better than the velcro as I came out of the consultation room another paitent asked both the nurse and consultant why my brace was better than there he said the lady made thes on her sewing machine they both took my number after asking what I'd charge for doing there's and one lady is visiting me on Monday to have hers done the consultant said I need to start a little sidelines. Two thigh straps and two waist hip straps they took approximately half to three quarters of an hour to make
i would like to thank you as i have had a bag with a broken strap for a good few years now, (what can i say? i procrastinate like a pro) and i finally decided to try to fix it. i couldnt use all of the tutorial as my bag goes through a triglide and a ring to make a single strap thingy. ive never made a bag before. its not something that ive ever and i do mean EVER done, so i dont know the terminology here, but i was able to fix it after watching this, and rewinding several times to understand a triglide. XD to be honest it wasnt as hard as id built it up to be in my head. but when you dont know how to do something or even what the thingy is called (turns out its called a triglide and if i say it enough in this post i might remember it, fingers crossed!) it seemed a bit daunting, plus a part of the triglide broke making me think it couldnt possibly be an easy fix... boy am i happy to be wrong!!! so thank you again!!! ^.^
Thanks 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻. I subscribed to your channel. You make some really beautiful bags. I am a beginner and I am learning a lot from you. When fabric is on sale, that is when I will attempt making your bags to gain some confidence. Please keep sharing your vast knowledge and experience. Your fabrics are so beautiful….I hope I can find something as pretty in my fabric store, now that we are reopening stores . Will be binge watching your channel for ideas …. 😁 Stay safe and be well!
Thanks for this video as well...big help!! Can you recommend how to go about getting the right length to use for a bum bag? I made one, but straps are so long, the first time, the straps were too short😊....thank you
Thanks! my bag for school that i ordered online just came earlier and i didn't know how to deal with the buckle thingy and since my mother isn't home yet i couldn't ask her to do it so i just searched on how and this one really helped me! thank you :-)
I personally always prefer cotton webbing as its firmer and non shiney. It seems to give a nicer finished product, but it is more expensive. If you are making sew to sell items then man-made webbing is probably the way to go.
The straps are for paralysed dog wheelcart purpose. Heavy web cotton strap i don't know how zo stich . Or can I use rivet and button the cut joining ends?
Sew the loose ends into your project Kalavalli so you don't have any raw edges. You could also rivet on, but turn the ends under first so they don't fray
4:04 What if it isn't "nice and rigid and firm"? I have two walking trouser belts that just pull through ... hence why I'm here. Nicely made video, well explained. I guess I must just be stupid, but then I've suspected it for a while.
Thank you for this. I have a bunch of those buckles with included triglides and they drove me crazy cuz I could not figure out how to use them properly. 😁
Some things remain in the back of your head and rather than taking minutes to master it forever you keep telling yourself that Google knows anyway. Starting a fire, basic paracord knots etc... is knowledge you can carry without wearing it on your sleeve 👌
I have a problem with the lock buckle itself, its very loose so a light pull will release the buckle lock, how can i fix this? The ending of both sides are stitched so replacing wouldn't be recommended, is that correct?
@@SpencerOgg its not the belt fabric itself but the lock when u close the male and female parts together, its very loose to the point a slight pull it comes loose :(
@@SpencerOgg I watched the video but doesnt really say how to replace a buckle from an existing product. Also the end of the belt is stitched, so no loose ends, if i wanna replace the buckle i need to open these factory made stitches?

Stich
You can zig-zag neaten them or fold them under and stitch

You should be able to double back the webbing through the buckle again to make it a firmer hold
