- This week I issue a challenge. #BonsaiChallenge
Go to your local garden shop and spend $50.
You must buy:
-A plant/tree
-Soil
-Container
You can use your own tools (recycled wire and screens are ok)
That's the entire challenge. We're going to be giving this Bonsai to a lucky Bonsai-YEAH! subscriber (coming soon!)

In the city we do not have the comfort of getting everything in one store. SnC gave me your challenge. Took 3 hours to different stores to do it & over $10 in gas. But. I found a cool pepperomia with a thick trunk. Great idea you had. Really had people doing it. Cool!
Totally understandable!
This is a great challenge for masters and beginners alike. It puts very heavy constraints on masters who may be used to dealing with trees costing (or worth) hundreds of dollars. And it shows beginners that you do not need to spend a ton of money getting into the hobby.

Such a cool challenge! I will see if I can find anything. It is winter here in South Africa at the moment so I might just buy the stuff and plant it in Spring
