On-Call Firefighter Recruitment 2023

On 12/06/23, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service is opening its on-call recruitment campaign for 2023! In this video, we chat with some of our current on-call firefighters as well as the people who help them fulfil their roles.
On-call firefighters are paid to provide cover for their local community. They live or work close to an on-call fire station and sign up to be available for a certain number of hours each week. They get paid for the hours they're available, plus paid extra if and when they're called out to incidents.
On-call firefighters have exactly the same skillset as their wholetime colleagues and complete lots of training so they're ready for anything.
To be an on-call firefighter, you must be physically fit, have good hearing and eyesight, and live or work near to an on-call fire station.
