  • These are the final moments to “Murder, They Said”, the 22nd (and 38th overall) and final episode from the second-and final season that served as the series finale of the 1981-82 NBC drama “Flamingo Road”. This episode aired on Tuesday, May 4, 1982.
After his season-long campaign to make gambling legal in Florida fails, Michael Tyrone (David Selby) gets ready to make his final move to go after the corrupt sheriff Titus Semple (Howard Duff) for his part in the death of his father. However, in the series finale, Tyrone is shot and presumably killed. Several of his enemies are suspected of the crime, including Titus.
Titus Semple comes out smelling like a rose claiming that he had arrested the killer of Michael Tyrone. Lute-Mae Sanders is arrested as the prime suspect, and is being questioned by the district attorney, with Field Carlyle (Mark Harmon) by her side. Meanwhile, Michael Tyrone shows up alive at a reclusive mountaintop monastery, plotting to strike again…and the show ends on a cliffhanger which remains unsolved.
