The volcano is making very similar sounds to Mt. Yasur, in Vanuatu. It's a Strombolian volcano on Tanna Island.

These are all escaping gasses. That's also why you see the lava inside the spatter cone continuously bubbeling.
In fact gasses play a fundamental role in an eruption, the pressure of these gasses causes lava to escape. And for a large part this is also just water vapour, since the Earth also contains a lot of water internally.
But the same show happens when outflowing lava moves over wet underground. The lava will go crazy.
A long time ago I have also seen a video where someone literally threw a bucket filled with water in a lava lake. The effect was as if a new eruption had started. But yeah, water gets 1600 times larger in volume when it vapourizes. 💥

on this quest I must go
    out here searchin’
    for somethin’
(Blackberry Smoke) and it sums up what you and all the other brave (some "crazy") folks might be feeling. Restless as the volcano and on a quest for.... ? Lovely, lovely and simply stunning views and totally enjoyable commentary. Thanks so much, merci. From France.

I think there might actually be some dustdevil vortices on top of the lava as well, but you will not see them as there is no dust to pick up from there.
One thing is pretty sure, and that it's hot rising air which creates them.

There seems t be 2 exit points where the lava can exit the volcano, 1 East and 1 West, but both are now almost fully submerged under the lava field and exit flows seems to have decreased so the volcano fills up and we should see another major wall collapse I think.
