  • We did a video a few months ago trying Filipino food, and completely messed up our first attempt of trying Halo-Halo, so we set out to try again and give it another go because we have been told by so many people that Halo-Halo is the best dessert in the Philippines.

Soy sauce is mix with kalamansi(limes) & chicken oil & use as a condiment for the chicken. Halo-halo translates to “mix-mix”, which means you have to mix all together the ingredients & enjoy!!😆

The crunchy bits on the palabok were crushed pork rinds/chicharon. Try squeezing some calamansi on the palabok it'll bring it to the next level.
Finally, make a dip using calamansi, soy sauce and chilis. that'll complete your mang inasal meal, the filipino way.
    Glad you enjoyed everything..

I usually put chicken oil over my rice, it's complimentary. Also you can ask for complimentary soup which is free. The chicken oil and soup are free and unlimited. Also if you are pay a little extra you can have unlimited rice.

I'm sorry to say that you now have another food you ate improperly 😂😂😂 To properly eat in Mang Inasal you have to:
    1. squeeze in calamansi in the soy sauce
    2. put some chicken oil on the rice (according to your liking)
    3. dip the chicken in the soy sauce

For the palabok, it's better to have squeezed calamansi over it, through a fork so that the seeds will not be included. Then you have to mix thoroughly the noodles and the sauce with all the bits in it before eating it. So just like halo-halo, palabok has to mixed up.

Yey, glad you finally enjoyed Halo-halo! Dion, it's okay that you didn't like the Palabok. It might have been too alien for your tastebuds. :)
Btw guys, just want to inform you that the chicken there in Mang Inasal is different from the famed Bacolod Chicken Inasal which is among Taste Atlas' top 10 chicken dishes in the world. I hope you can try it too. You don't have to go to Bacolod to have it. If you're in Cebu now, i'm sure you'll find it there too. Even here in Manila, there are restaurants serving it. It's really good. Has a unique flavor to it. :)

🇵🇭❤️Halo halo is one heck of a dessert! It's actually easy to make... Just buy from the groceries the ube ice cream, a bottled Halo-halo mix, bottled sweet white beans, pouch of nata de coco, condensed milk or evaporated milk with sugar. There's also bottled ube for the toppings and leche flan may also be available. So easy to make and you can have it anytime of the day. 🤟👍

Sir, you should put (squeeze) calamansi first to your sauce and dip your chicken there. Others dont eat rice with sauce because it's salty. But i eat rice with sauce also with calamansi then thats delicious for me. When inside Mall i like halo-halo of Mang Inasal.

Also, better to pour in chicken oil over the rice rather than soy sauce. You make a dipping sauce for the chicken by mixing soy sauce, vinegar, red chili, and calamansi.

  • @leonmp8560
    @leonmp8560 Год назад +1

You did the chicken inasal wrong.😁 To make the chicken spicy is to concoct your own sauce. I see the chilies, it should have been smudge then add soy sauce and kalamansi and a little chicken oil. The chicken oil is infused with anato seeds which has a very delicate taste and makes the inasal inasal.

Many say mix it. I disagree as I like mine separate at first so to taste each ingredient. Naturally, at the end as it melts, its automatically blended.

Red flag alert! on the soy sauce you shouldn't pour it on the rice it should've been the chicken oil on the rice. Soy sauce supposed to be for dipping the chicken mix it with the calamansi and chili's if your into spicy, that's the purpose of the small container with calamansi and chili's in it for you to prepare/mix your dipping sauce for the grilled chicken. But your getting there and there's always next time/try for a great food anyway.

Geezz guy, not to be that guy, but five months in, and you havent gotten used to spoon and fork? In the Philippines, the spoon doubles as a knife. Also most foods in the Philippines are tender that you can pull it apart with a spoon, or just literally cut it down with just pressing down with the dull edge of a spoon. Spoon goes on your right and the fork on the left if you are a right-handed person, and other way if you are left handed.

🥳 Oh, finally! Good for you(As a fried chicken junkie, you fell for the Jolibee challenge when there's the healthier _inasal_ food chain alternative you'd later discover =P )
_Inasal_ is to the Visayas (ie. roasted/barbecued/grilled) what _lechon_ is to Luzon, so you weren't far off: _chicken inasal_ was exactly what they specialize in and served you; _lechong manok_ would be the counterpart and there's the take-away Andok's brand you'd likely to see in your walks especially in Metro Manila.
Yes you did lol You _halo-halo'd_ it just right this time LOL This is a happy moment. Cheers ü
**Jolibee finalized the full acquisition of _Mang Inasal_ brand in 2016 from what was a growing chain originating in Iloilo City.
There are other chicken _inasal_ / lechong manok brands as well, some have dine-in options like Mang Inasal, others are for take-away like Andok's.
