Theres no way this dude had a 2 year hardcore world without a backup world
thats cheating though
@@polarsaurusrex1432 not if it was lag…
To all the idiots still arguing that it’s not fair STFU. You can play Minecraft however you like. No one else will control your world.
@@polarsaurusrex1432 What if the save corrupts after updating? Would loading a backup be cheating then? Backups are just failsafe copies for things like this. It's not cheating if it saves years of progress from a silly mistake (that wasn't death).
@@polarsaurusrex1432 what if a scenario like this happens? Then its ok
if the game cheats you can cheat is my motto
he should bring the folder with the world and open it with a powerful computer, let it finish and then bring it back and plug it at home

@@K1ngwing man has AMD threadripper 💀😭
or u can put the world on a server and run it with 0 players until all the sand is done. Then move it back to the original folder
I was legit convinced the loss would be because the game would lag, and in the lag, he would have walked into the mass of falling sand, and either suffocated or taken excessive fall damage.
So cute ❤

This is recoverable. There are tons of map editing tools. He could just remove the chunks within the problem area or just remove the blocks belonging to the monument.
i believe its corrupted
@@Jkerb148
Local corruptions are easy to fix. I highly doubt ALL the stored chunks are corrupted.
@@greg77389 He did it on purpose
I mean he's got a point, i played for like 2 months and obtained everything, armour maxed out , almost every possible farms, my dream base and got bored and quitted. He is like playing for like 2 years and i guess he didnt know he could corrupt the world, like lockdownlife did the same thing and nothing happened, so i think in this case, he didnt know it, saw it happen and probably said "fuck off, lets start another world"
He can edit those entities out with external programs to recover the world.
True

It would suck to undo so much progress.. but you can just delete the region files and reset the chunks
But would everything be saved?
@@SamuelEpik everything would be saved besides the sand area. I had this happen to me in a survival world with a sand duplicator and I deleted the chunks and it was fine, I just had to rebuild the area again.
there was a program (which allows you to upload your world and delete the chunks you want.
Actually speaking of region files you dont need to delete since all the sand are entities already you can actually delete entities from region files!
@@eldanyrobloxvideos3954 Oh i havent messed with world files a lot so ty for the info
He definitely did this on purpose, nobody would ever risk their world like that if they were genuinely scared about losing it. Notice how he’s even laughing and finds it more amusing than sad, I’ve seen RUclipsrs do stuff like this before and stage themselves accidentally dying on their hardcore world so they can start a new one. It’s actually quite a clever way to end it off than staging an accidental death that makes you look like a noob.
I dunno, didn't Philza get big by losing his world from a dumb death?

He posted a comment on a wadze video saying he wants to start over his world. He also knew his computer couldn't handle it because he's had trouble with sand and lag in this world before. I think it was just a way out instead of saying I want to start a new world. After this I couldn't watch him the same. He had the back ups he knew what he was clearly doing, he wasn't sad at all.
I don't know him at all but i don't blame people wanting to start a new world after years to get some "new" experience. Man i can't even handle a world for a month and feel the need to start a new one cuz it feels refreshing and hype for the moment.

If I remember correctly, there is an entity file in the 'world' folder. He could just delete all falling block entities in that folder and save his world.
I'm honestly surprised he was able to remain so calm.

@@ant_ig thats me
You can use the a common hacking client in the hypixel skyblock community known as shady addons to make all the entities ghost blocks on his side to buy him some time
the way he was so chill about it.. i would’ve cried
I'd say it's actually a pretty satisfying way to end a hardcore world. When you have all the gear you could get, dying to some enemy or your environment would feel really anti-climactic. Building a structure so massive and so ambitious that it damn near bricks your PC and corrupts your save? That's just cool.
He should put his render distance down. Maybe that will work
I think its the simulation distance that need to be lowered in newer versions
there is a fix but will require a texurure pack
basicly just make sand blocks not render
it will only become a problem if the game crash says
game crashed while ticking entity falling_block
that means his world is gone unless he destorys it
or you could use a nbt editor and delete the falling_blocks
or he could delete the chunk he is in and move himself to another location
that will leave a big 16x16 hole to the void
I mean, he could have always removed the entities or teleported himself away. Power of editing
What a way to lose that world, that would've been such a great finally to a hard core minecraft series
The pain that came with the "might be lost" hurt watching, imagine how much time he spent :(
He was actually glad he lost it, he didn't want to do stuff on it anymore

since its a glitch I think it should be allowed to delete the enitys that are lagging his game out.
That's not counted as losing your entire Minecraft world. He can still continue the series. ❤️
Seeing how he was smiling it is like losing your streak in RDO. You are free.
What an amazing way to lose a world nonetheless. He truly earned the privilege to end it when it does because he dropped hundreds of sand blocks at once
Sadly I can relate to this. I was never big into survival Minecraft until a few years ago, and I had this world I started about a year or two ago. It was the first survival based world I’ve really clicked with and had been playing on it for well over half a year. And one day I was playing in the end islands idk trying to get more elytras and I died. I decided to call it a day and shut the game off. The next time I tried to log in it wouldn’t ever load. It would get about 99% of the way on the “generating terrain” bar and the game would presumably freeze.
Few months later I have no clue what could have happened. And I really miss the world. It was the only one I’ve ever really clicked with. And likely had over 100 to 150 hours on it. If anyone knows what could have happened let me know. It was in bedrock ps5 btw
And yes. I do have backups but 1 their from about two months before the corruption. And 2 I’ve already fucked with them in create mode to test build ideas out. So it wouldn’t be current would have tests everywhere and the achievements wouldn’t work.
150 hours is like, a weeks worth of playing.
@@ZinxTheSlayer Yea, if u play straight no stopping
you might be able to save the world by using mca selector to delete corrupted chunks

I wanted to say thank you for showing me this video I had forgotten completely about paulgg for 3years or more!
As someone who lost more than 5 differents worlds due to lag this hurts me in the heart
Something like this happened to me. I had my world for 3 years, I was playing and my power went out, when I was able to get back on minecraft it said my world was corrupted or something like that. I did SO much in that world.(this was on ps4)
Yeah if your ps4 loses power while your world is open it will corrupt the file and ruin the world. Not really that special though. Could happen at any time
aw :(
I hope you are able to make an even better world than before
Same happened to me. I had it also for many years and had so much in it and also had a power cut, went back on and the world was no longer there. Mine was xbox
Good job with the views and subs!
Thanks
@@RapinatorOhYeah You're welcome
This just hurts and it hasn’t even happened in the video yet😢😢. He’s so happy talking about if
Well, theres a trick used on sand dupers, if you accidentaly wait in the overworld for too long and cant get into the end because of it crashing everytime because of too much falling blocks, you can simply delete them in the game folders, in DIM1/entities to be exact. DIM1 is end, and one huge chunk of a file is the falling blocks. Pretty sure you can do this for the overworld aswell, just delete the falling sand in the game files.
Or backup
No.1 rule as a gamer is to save the game or backup in this case, before doing something big
The splash text at the end: Water proof!
I mean if anyone has played modded minecraft crashes like this aren't uncommon, that's why MCEdit exists for editing worlds after they crash so you can try to salvage them before they corrupt.
he's definitely not going to hold back to his first feel deep in that gold
The problem is the block you used... sign. They all instantly break unlike scafold for example.
that was the point, he wanted to make all the signs break at the same time
@@marcrimus946 As in, signs break on the same tick rather than staggering to ease the load.

he looked so happy and i feel so sad
I love his expression on camera so chill right when he gets of he starts yelling at the wall
Just using something like NBTExplorer to remove all entities should be good.
For someone who just lost 2 years of work, he seemed to have handled the revelation quite well
Well when you have sponsors and get paid to make Minecraft videos anyone could handle it well.
im pretty sure he did it on purpose, nobody who is genuinely scared of losing a 2yo minecraft hardcore world would risk it like that.
also, he already said he didn't wanted to do stuff in that world anymore, and i think its was the best way to end it.
bro was awfully calm for someone that lost 2 years worth of work
He was so happy just before the tragedy struck
Solution: start a server with this world, load the chunks, wait for the progress to be over and then copy this world into your singleplayer. This would require a medium server but it would be worth it.
everyone is coming up with incredibly hard to do solutions and things, but i think lowering chunk distance to 2 would make it
YOURE A GENIUS
He can play his world again when the rtx 8080 comes out, dont worry
i refuse to believe minecraft players don't have several backup files stores somewhere for their hardcore series
Just delete the sand entities with nbt explorer if its such a big issue
Edit chunks manually in 3rd party software.

Oh my god. Delete the chunk file, use a texture pack, send the world file to a stronger computer and send it back, use an external mod. If he didn’t recover this he didn’t recover this on purpose.

use mca selector and just delete the chunk from the save file. by doing that when he loads up the world it will regenerate the chunk according to the seed and everything will go back to how it was before he built anything on it.
the quality of this video is even better!
how did he lose it? its just draining a monument how would lag get him killed there?
It didn't kill him, but the lag makes him unable to enter the world

You can probably go into the world data, delete those two chunks, and regenerate them... idk if it would delete the falling block entities, those might have to be a long manually painful process.

@@SirDinielFortesque i dont understand, you stopped watching him since he made money from getting sponsored?
Super recoverable, lots of ways to edit the world without loading the block physics
This guy is so chill about it it scares me
A less common thing people don't know about Minecraft, you can backup your world's, so if your about to log on for the day with a mega jigantic project in mind, make a world backup first
WorldEdit can fix that easily by loading the world in the program and removing the entities. That fixed one of the worlds I was working on because a single block became corrupt
I lost my first survival world to a crash like this. Heartbreaking
bruh he is WAY too calm, I would've been freaking out.
I wonder if it's a memory allocation issue. Each of those falling sand blocks are another entity in the registry taking up RAM. Allocated a lot of RAM for Java to use would be worth trying.
I once launched a different version of Minecraft and accidentally clicked on my 1.12.2 world. I realized it instantly and closed the game but the world was still corrupted. Thank god I had a backup but I lost one month of progress.
If he has the coordinates, he can delete the region file that has the sand cube in it, forcing Minecraft to regenerate the portion of world that made the game crash without voiding the entirety of the map
It’s actually so easy to continue playing in your hardcore world after you die and I think it’s completely justified to do so after something like this happens
thanks for over editing it for no reason made it way funnier
he should 100 percent be able to go into some world edit type program and deal with that issue. ethoslab had to do this multiple times on his prob close to decade long world because of issues of similar caliber,
If he didnt have a backup, he could change every graphic setting to the lowest, set render distance to 1 or 2 (idk if 1 is possible i dont remember) and pray that it processes it
Because ending hardcore with death is too mainstream.
True legend doesn't let minecraft kill him, but kills minecraft instead
I mean if he had any coordinates or the chunk he could go in the entities (and poi I believe) folder and delete the chunk with the sand innit. If you think I kinda learned the hard way, I LEARN IT THÉ HATD WAY (my friends left a sand duper run for so long 3~4 days and it makes 2mi entities on the floor so I did the thing with removing the folder and it just worked out fine)
i love these videos watching people lose there minecraft world is great
Rip PaulGG’s hardcore world 😢
The moment he realized that it might be lost forever
I think you could go to the world file and delete the "entities" folder so it will delete all existing mobs
I understand it cause I deleted my 700 day hardcore world by accident, and I can’t believe I didn’t have a backup that one time!
bro recycle it from the trash
Obviously it hurts a lot but he seemed to take it very well just calmly trying to find a fix and then just saying it like it is
Uhh, im assuming you tried this, but if not, there is a program you can download, then upload your world, and you can delete the specific chunks that the sea monument was in, if you have not tried that then I would look into it, I used to use it to trim down my worlds that were like 10gb+. It just deletes the specific chunks that you want deleted and leaves the rest.
He took it too well for 2 years of progress, I lost my 3 months because my little brother erase it and I almost cry
The hardest thing to do is smile and say
"We lost it"
That’s why especially if u make content, you backup your world every now and then, and before potentially crashing your world with blocks
