@@MrKLeBlanc That's not true. Height isn"t as important in football, so even a short person can be goated, but height is still a bonus, that's why their average height is still above the normal population, and that on some position like Central defender or even in some role like Pivot striker (ibrahimovic, Giroud,...) you actually are a lot higher than average height.
@@ledernierutopiste You are right, height have an importance for CBs, Keepers and some specific profiles of CFs. As for all the other positions, height is not important and can even be detrimental. Tall players like the ones you mentioned make for a very small percentage of all the players. You can even make an argument that the likes of Giroud and Zlatan would be better players if they were shorter. Zlatan type of play in particular would benefit greatly from a lower center of gravity. Giroud on the other hand is almost a CB playing CF. His main role in a team is to deflect aerial balls towards his teammates, and physically hold up CB's his size: Being tall is mostly beneficial for a target man. Height being a bonus for all players though can't be further from the truth. You give Curry's height to Maradona and Messi , and they'll for sure improve at scoring headers but on the other hand they'd lose a lot of what makes them goated like the ability to change direction in a fraction of a second for example..

It's not a coincidence that they go hand in hand.... footwork, agility, cardio, getting open, understanding angles, knowing where your teammates are, passing around for the highest percentage shot.... If you want to get better at basketball then you should play a littler soccer every once in awhile and vice versa. The skills are transferable.
