Jesse and Walts relationship is so fascinating. In the 20 years since Hector shot Max on Eladio's orders, Gus eventually became a begrudging business partner with the cartel (given how profitable the meth trade turned out to be, they couldn't ignore it anymore) but, while he pretended to have made peace with them for the sake of business, he actually never stopped plotting his revenge. The first part of said revenge was seen back in season 3, when Gus pointed the Salamanca twins at Hank, then gave him an anonymous warning via phone. As a result, he could take advantage of the turmoil caused by the botched attempt on a DEA agent's life to arrange having a team of corrupt federales sent to assassinate Juan Bolsa (Eladio's other henchman, who was also there with Hector when Max got killed) and thus sever contacts with the cartel (and also get back at Hector by taunting him about the death of his nephews and his old colleague). Then the cartel tried to get back their share of his business by demanding the secret of the blue meth formula (sending men to intercept Gus's delivery trucks, then harassing him with sniper shots) and Gus took the opportunity of that meeting at Eladio's house to poison them all, his vengeance finally coming full circle (there's more about Hector and the Salamanca family, but all in due time to avoid spoilers).
I love how every time i read the comments on these episodes I see people explaining the plot to you guys, and I always think "Okay so I guess they didn't understand it." But then I see the episode and ya'll understand everything lol. Makes me wonder if people even bothered to watch first.
This episode exemplifies Walter and Jessie's ignorance of their entire situation. Throughout the show they make assumptions about Gus's motives and intentions, many of which are incorrect, and Gus sees them as children who have no understanding of his bigger picture concerns, and so he often treats them as such. And they basically act like children, without the experience and maturity to really make it in this business. Gus is the true G.
That's certainly true of Jessie. Walter is pretty accurate in his assessment of Gus, even though he doesn't know much about Gus's relationship with the cartel.
Gus took a pill at the pool, something to make the poison less deadly, he still had to drink, he went to bathroom to throw up the rest of it, but he did not get the deadly symptoms like the others because the "antidote" pill he took at the pool before the boss came down
This was a 20-year long revenge plot...Gus was really pissed by the "spanking" comment because Gus is gay and that not only was his cook to make millions but also his long-time lover/spouse. If you watch again you see Gus take some pills from a box a few minutes before the Don comes out- so he took a poison anit-dote AND forced himself to vomit and saved Jesse from drinking any. Mike being a "henchman" wouldn't be high-ranking enough to be allowed to have any of this expensive Tequila so that is why everyone else died. So now we have Tuco gone, the Twins gone, the other lower-level Don shot down by the fake Federale hit men and Hector the only one left and he is in a wheelchair. Gus now controls ALL the meth himself- a genius move and brilliant writing on the show
yea i was never taught to chop like that to easy for your finger to slide off, your supposed to have your index and thumb on the side of the blade and the rest of your hand on the handle. literally my first day, first thing i went to do was chop some veggies with my hand like that and the head chef was like nah buddy your gonna hurt yourself cutting like that and he showed me the proper way.
Gus' relationship with the cartel was the same as his relationship with Walter. They had him work for them against his will but they didn't trust him, same as him not trusting Walter and not letting him get close tohim anymore. So The one moment Gus had to get close to the Don he took his shot and killed him and his gang same as Walter looking to get one chance with Gus and kill him
Hi! I'm enjoying watching your guys' reaction to this show, which I love. I just wanted to clarify for you that the word for business partner and romantic partner is different in Spanish ("socio" is business partner; think of the English "associate;" "pareja," like "pair," is for a romantic partner). Nonetheless, as you've already discovered (spoiler alert for anyone who hasn't watched the show): BJ guessed correctly, albeit accidentally! Great reactions :)
Any thoughts on why Eladio killed the cook and didn't kill Gus? The way I figure it, the cook was competition, Gus was distribution for Eladios product. Perhaps Gus was already distributing for Eladio. Gus knew Eladios men, and seemed to know Eladio, while the cook didn't.

12:12 iirc Gus wants to be in business by himself and 50M was for trying to buy his way out of the cartel but they aren't negotiating, they're telling Gus his business is theirs
The scene with Skylar and the IRS auditor is one of my favorite scenes of the whole show. She is so hilarious! 😂
Despite what she says to Walter, she is just as good a liar as he is.
Gus also sat perfectly still keeping his heart rate as low as possible to keep the poison from spreading 🤯
27:25 i love this scene with the cartel chemists.
You guys were talking when Gus is seen taking the charcoal tablets. He has prepared the whole thing. Revenge for his partner. And ambition to be top dog.
Love how enthusiastic you are! BB is beyond the shit. TV at it’s best. And I love to re-live the humor, pathos, drams, suspense - everything through you again. I always check your channel to see when the next BB is posted. The greatness does not stop.
Hahaha... that hug just killed me! You 2 are cute as all hell! One of the reasons you’re one of my favorite reactors. I come to you two for my “awwwwww” reactions ❤
22:38 Bwahahaha 🤣🤣🤣”This calls for a Sour Patch moment”
"This calls for a Sour Patch moment..." LOL!
You gotta watch El Camino after this series ends. Jesse's side story is awesome!
Much love Zach! Thanks 😊
And yet, Gus is still on a 20 year old vendetta :D
That's certainly true of Jessie. Walter is pretty accurate in his assessment of Gus, even though he doesn't know much about Gus's relationship with the cartel.
33:50 "You mean in America?" Asia is so freaking funny 😂🤣
Gus took a pill at the pool, something to make the poison less deadly, he still had to drink, he went to bathroom to throw up the rest of it, but he did not get the deadly symptoms like the others because the "antidote" pill he took at the pool before the boss came down
I think Walt is actually upset about his fight with Jesse and that he might not see him again if he is killed by the cartel
Lol. Little slow on the poisoned tequila. Gus made sure Jessie didn’t drink any and then Gus puked up his so he only ingested part of it. 😂😂😂😂
42:25 Poor Asia's gonna get whiplash trying to keep an eye on BJ's eye!😉🍿🥂
Gus now controls ALL the meth himself- a genius move and brilliant writing on the show
Such an incredible pair of episodes! Some of Gustavo's best moments for sure and fantastic acting from everyone.
BJ flowin when he speaks
Good Reaction :^) .. Walt Jr is Walter White's son, Jesse is Heisenberg's son.
Asia’s lil shoulder shuffle dance intro though… 💃🏻😂🙌👏
Asia said "this might be it for jessie"😃..I was thinkin the same thing.
It always hurt to see Walt and Jesse fight like that, it’s like watching family go at it.
Wow ya.. Watching family fight IS like watching family fight!
@@drnny6705 Sarcasm? Because Walt and Jesse are not family by blood, so I don’t know what you’re getting at…
Their fights progressed from being pure comedy to being genuinely horrific
yea i was never taught to chop like that to easy for your finger to slide off, your supposed to have your index and thumb on the side of the blade and the rest of your hand on the handle. literally my first day, first thing i went to do was chop some veggies with my hand like that and the head chef was like nah buddy your gonna hurt yourself cutting like that and he showed me the proper way.
"this calls for a sour patch moment" lol
Imagine having to wait a year or longer for new episodes of BB and BCS. The wait was so long but it was absolutely worth it.
I was going to comment the same thing. This show, and Lost. So many questions each episode, and having to wait a week between episodes was brutal!
That sucked real bad! It was worth the wait, but for me, it took a little bit away.
That was way too long to wait.
42:27 - Just so ya know: Fiesta = party, Siesta = nap
Both can be equally enjoyable.
The 'kingpin', from the flashback, also played Tony Montana's partner in Scarface ❤
I think you're actually supposed to keep the tip of the knife on the cutting board, then chop the food with the base of the knife closer to your hand.
27:14 - Oh, Asia.
Gus' relationship with the cartel was the same as his relationship with Walter. They had him work for them against his will but they didn't trust him, same as him not trusting Walter and not letting him get close tohim anymore. So The one moment Gus had to get close to the Don he took his shot and killed him and his gang same as Walter looking to get one chance with Gus and kill him
You recognized the pool because this happened earlier when Gus was younger. Poison then puking. It's the MO of Gus.
Nothing ever ever ever ever ever ever ever happens by a pool in Breaking Bad that isn't a nightmare.
"This calls for a sour-patch moment" OMG I f'ing DIED
Y’all should check out “I am legend” “taken” and “The happening” 👍🏻
LOL, it's like watching my own life in front of me. There hasn't been one show in my life that I've watched with a girl, where I didn't have to explain everything that was going on in the show. And just like Asia these were intelligent ladies.
The fight with walt and jesse was the most heartbreaking physical fight they had in the whole show.
Walter wasn’t honest when he spoke with Jr. He didn’t get beat up gambling. Jessy beat him up! I think part of the crying was because of the way he lies to Jr. I also think it was part bull s**t!
“Oh! This is cause for a sour patch moment”
That threw me off guard so bad I choked on my drink!
LMFAO @22:45 this calls for a sour patch moment. HAHAH I died laughing.
See what I mean by this is going to go crazy, Asia? And what happened in episode ten is nothing compared with what is going down between now and the end of Season Five. Stay strapped in!
