I have an autographed copy of this album when I asked her to sign it she was like, oh not too many of these out there I told her I purchased 2 of them lol 2020 Fan since 1965
Cher has mastered so many musical genres throughout her career, but rock will always be her best. Black Rose was a very underrated band and project. The album is terrific
I take this over “Believe” any day🙊🤩 Also in love with Cher’s Black Rose look. And about everything she has accomplished through the years, all the set-backs and comebacks. I love her so🥰
I remember this show when it was broadcast. I recall that the show pretty much featured Cher with Black Rose. I think they even reran the episode several weeks later due to audience requests.
I was laying in a hospital bed and this came on midnight special. She rocked it hard. Happiest time of CHER on stage in my opinion. I thought it would be huge and then it wasn't People didn't get her at the time.
"They"still don't. Early in her career they said she couldn't sing. Then when making movies said she couldn't act and should go back to singing. She once said she only answers to two people, myself and God. I've told my granddaughters this too. GIRL POWER!
@@paistecat Pretty Sure that This is All the Original Group.......Including: Gary Scott on Keyboards & Mr. Gary "Bam-Mam" Ferguson on Drums......i can tell by his Head movements.
I LOVE the 60s sonny and cher maybe cause I met them like 8 times when I was little even danced on stage with them at 8yrs old to the beat goes on sonny SAID look cher the little girl has more beat then you never will forget very nice sonny cher was not really nice was in a hurry broke my heart but I talk to her alot now on Twitter and she remembers I have like 14 tweets from her she says she's my grandbabies auntie so cute she loves lilly always tweets her my beauty PRINCESS ❤auntie
@@bradly2007 I think a lot of people and radio stations were very reluctant to this era because of the drastic change she made. She went from disco in 1979 to hard rock in 1980. I think they didn't take her seriously, even though this is definitely one of Cher's best works.
The album cover to "Black Rose" was cutting age great! CHER looked the part. No expense was over looked with the A&R department in promotion etc..... CHER was on the cover of "Us" magazine with the headline "The new CHER as Black Rose"! CHER's look was different. She looked a cross between Joan Jett, Pat Benatar or Chrissy Hyde who were all burning up the charts with their respectful bands or as solo artists like Pat Benatar who owned the early 80's and helped introduce MTV. Her song "You better run" was the 2nd song MTV played. The problem with "Black Rose" was their singer, CHER. Despite the new look which was new to her with short hair, bangs... but already popularized by other HOT female singers. CHER wanted to rock but her corny TV variety show personality overshadowed her and it was unescapable. She recorded another album after '"Black Rose" which also flopped before hanging up her recording career ad began working on getting acting roles which was NOT and easy task. No one wanted to hire her. She did eventually turn things around with some BIG breaks. CHER has always found REALLY good people to take a chance on her. By the decades end CHER was a success in films, won an Academy award for best actress in 1988 and back recording music turning out hit records. In the late 80's the tide turned and CHER was accepted as rocks princess.
Only discovered this band during a biography of Cher just now, (2023)! I had always thought Cher should do a rock album, (also Mick Jagger - who apparently did - but even as a stones fan, I never got to hear about it! I'll have to look up some more about that on the internet!) And Rita Ora should show her vocal power, like on early live performances, taking on such a powerful guitarist with her vocals! This song has instantly become my favourite song of all time!
Wow never heard her do a heavier song like this before. I mean it’s heavy for Cher but I expect her to adapt to any music. She can pretty much sing anything maybe not opera though lol who knows she could try and surprise everyone🙏🏻✌🏻
It's too bad this was the thinnest slice of a career where Cher reinvented herself many times. The few times I've heard "Black Rose" mentioned in documentaries it's called a Cher album. If memory servers (and it rarely does anymore) Cher wanted to be a Black Rose album, not "Cher and the..." Given more time, and more talented songwriters, this would have worked. Of course, by 1990 she would have been an out-of-work rock 'n roller instead of an Acadamy Award winner...I would have been cool with that....
Britney should do an album like Black Rose now that the conservatorshit is finally over. Also, I think the Black Rose album Cher did inspired Miley to do her Plastic Hearts rock album. Black Rose era Cher walked so Britney could do Blackout & run from her toxic family and management & Miley could run from being a Disney kid & do Bangerz and Plastic Hearts.

MASTERED?
It’s clips like this that make life worth living 😌

You got that right!
This is actually really good.
I have the rose from this album cover tattooed on my ankle.
I have never seen this. Thank you for sharing.

I saw Les with Boz, Steve Miller and James Cotton and he absolutely stole the show. 5 standing ovations...3 solo and 1 each with Steve and James.
Unbelievable talent and energy! Crowd should be rocking with this!

I'm a Les Dudek fan. And Cher, IS a rocker.
Was...
Used to be
Somewhere I know I've got the full recording of this concert. I'll have to have a dig around for it.
Have you all noticed how the word bitch is censored? "Julie, you lyin'....*inserted applause* LOL
Pure ROCK! GO Cher!!
I love this Record you made with Black Rose. CD was hard to find, and it's one that stays in my cars.

Does anyone know who the drummer is on this? I knew Art Wood and Gary Ferguson... who were the drummers at Caesar’s Palace.

Love Cher😍 Love her voice🖤
Cher once told Cannibal Corpse’s vocalist George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher that she “was metal before you were born”... She wasn't joking.
Rock us Cher!!!

Back when live music was actually live and a girl could sing!
Just love her x

I wish Cher would make another Rock album, rather than another Abba album or more dance stuff.
It's an odd memory that won't fade but mocks me. Could have seen Black Rose open for Patti Smith down n San Diego?
My favorite Sonny & Cher clip is when David Letterman had them both on to sing "I got you Babe!!
Isn't that Les Dudek on lead guitar?
Finally…someone mentioned Les 🤘🎸🤘
It is. They were also together during this time. Les is a criminally underrated guitar player.
Sure is!

Musica top da Cher o mais puro rock n rooll.

Do you have Dov'e L'Amore (Almighty Radio Edit

Wow! This is the best thing I've heard her do; this is where she belongs!
In her Bob Mackie. Gold.
Yup! Bob Mackie cat suit with a cut up sweatshirt thrown over it lol casual Cher! 😂
Awesome i remember her saying that this record was attacked by critics but not about the music but "how dare Cher sing rock n roll?". She is awesome!
Critics are frustrated writers/performers; take their opinions with grain of salt; consider the source..

Les Dudek on the lead guitar in the left. Not sure who the other lead is

She doesn't have to be. She's CHER.
@@henriquedjosci And she's fabulous, but this is NOT her kind of music. Clearly a misguided phase brought on by Allman.
