I'm one of the nerdiest anime super hero comic book loving tech drooling video game sleep depriving otaku/nerd/neet/geek and I will tell you we are the main issue why some of these movies flop with spectacular fashion. We bring our bias into the movie, expecting it to be a carbon copy or at least close as possible to the comic books or games or anime. To be honest we can't keep doing that cause we chase away new blood. A lot of people will go hey I think I need to read this or watch this cause I think these characters are kool exposing new characters and some with new back stories. Out of 1000s of characters thrown at the wall, a very small % stick. There's some very special chemistry happening that makes it work. It can't be messed with too much or it will dissolve. D just takes a name and superficial characteristics and wings it.
I remember when Steven Yuen was cast as Sentry and that was canned, so hopefully this might happen. There different versions of Batman but people love Bruce Wayne Batman same for Silver Surfer, Norrin Radd is the most popular Silver Surfer.

I’m mixed on it. The way I see it, the Fantastic Four is supposed to be from an alternate universe making them swap who became the Silver Surfer, hopefully making Norrin Radd a possibility for Secret Wars. But at the same time, it could just be more meddling by the company and that’s sad. Still, I’m gonna remain optimistic. Gotta see a trailer first before I can say how I truly feel.
If they do something where this Silver Surfer is the Galactus right hand at first for a movie or two and then she dies/gets “fired”, so to speak (meaning Galactus kills her), and gets replaced with Norrin Radd to get the job done better, I’d be fine with that. But if this is the only Silver Surfer we have going forward, it’s gonna irritate me because they know which one everyone wants

Honestly, I would give it a chance. If this character is part of the silver surfer lore then it's good enough for me. Because keep in mind, galactus has had different heralds and Norman radd was one of them, Jean Grey as the Phoenix.

I think she's being cast as A FEMALE Silver Surfer and not THE Silver Surfer, who is still coming and coming as a main male of the comics. So I think we are just getting both. Maybe she was cast/announced first because THE (male) Silver Surfer is MORE important and therefore is gonna take MORE time to find and cast.

I lost all interest in the movie once Pascal was casted as Reed Richards. Not that he sucks as an actor but I don’t see him as Reed and the Fantastic Four being the first family of Marvel and one of the most beloved comics I wanted them to have a slam dunk with the casting and hopefully they would make a great movie but Marvel is set on pushing DEI for a lil bit of the BlackRock money smh we are getting robbed of great movies because they wanna focus on the agenda instead of making entertaining movie that focus on staying true to the characters and telling a cool story. I’m mixed on it. The way I see it, the Fantastic Four is supposed to be from an alternate universe making them swap who became the Silver Surfer, hopefully making Norrin Radd a possibility for Secret Wars. But at the same time, it could just be more meddling by the company and that’s sad. Still, I’m gonna remain optimistic. Gotta see a trailer first before I can say how I truly feel.

If they do something where this Silver Surfer is the Galactus right hand at first for a movie or two and then she dies/gets “fired”, so to speak (meaning Galactus kills her), and gets replaced with Norrin Radd to get the job done better, I’d be fine with that. But if this is the only Silver Surfer we have going forward, it’s gonna irritate me because they know which one everyone wants
