MacArthur will ALWAYS teach from the Scriptures. The Gifts of the Spirit in the book of Acts, appeared during a specific time in the Churches' history-for a specific purpose. They no longer iccur. Ex, speaking in tongues was people speaking in REAL languages unknown to them-not garbled nonsensical utterings. It was a miracle- it occurred only when someone who spoke that language was present & could translate. Verifyable.
I remember a story of a group of men that asked Jesus why he was eating with a certain stature of person. Let our gospel be a guidance to a relationship with Jesus and let him take care of the rest. Amen

Would this be supported by Paul's admonition regarding the issue of eating meat sacrificed to idols if one doesn't know or isn't informed of that fact, i.e. "just eat it and don't ask questions about the origin of the meat" and "if you're not told about it, go ahead and eat it"?
Two to three million a year possibly in taxes if the exemption is removed? Maybe local churches need to be smaller and more intimate than these huge mega churches.

By that I mean, for this arguments sake that Gay marriage is wrong, it is sinful, and to encourage or celebrate in it is sinful (Re Romans). That said (ie don't argue those points, just accept that position to see my point), where do you draw the line. Would you sell a bed if you are a bed salesman to a gay couple? What about the guy working at 7-11, does he demand to see a wedding certificate before selling condoms. What about a wedding cake for a heterosexual couple? The question is, when is a Christian guilty for participating in sinful behaviour, and what part of the Bible covers this? Is selling a product from your store 'celebrating', or encouraging?
Baking a cake for a gay wedding is different than selling a bed! One is a specific request to partake in a celebration, another is moving product. HOWEVER...MacArthur totally contradicted himself at the Ligonier Conference and his GTY video on the subject using the exact example mentioned at the conference as OK and then not OK in his video! He needs to address this!

MacArthur is a profound and great theologian, and even where I disagree with him (on very few matters), he is still a sound teacher of biblical truth and will be far greater in the Kingdom of Heaven than I shall be. He and RC Sproul and John Piper have blessed my life and soul more than any other men living today.
