- This video features movements into the famous St Maarten Princess Juliana airport SXM from a location close to where I filmed at in 2022
From this spot you can see the full approach over Maho Beach, the aircraft touching down right infront of you and down the runway, also the full takeoff roll is visible for departures, undoubtably my favourite spot for SXM
Filmed freehand using a Sony AX-53 Camcorder
To reach this location it’s around a 10-15 minute walk from Maho beach around the perimeter road at SXM, there is a restaurant that has a balcony that overlooks the runway, however for filming I managed to find a rooftop to give you a completely unobstructed view of the action!

I’m doing my pilot training at the moment in Europe and I’m from sin’t maarten watching your videos makes me happy and makes me miss planespotting back home.. I would go in the same spots as you and I know cool secret sports along the perimeter too try climbing the container by row 28 you could get cool shots there.. cheers love the vids

It was on top of an abandoned building so hopefully it’ll still be like that next time but unlikely.
been there in 2011 with KLM MD-11 ...a lot has changed. looks like they put a "big normal" fence at the end of runway...and this video position might be new too? I think to remember they made the runway longer too, many years ago. Greetings from Germany

30:22 Air France Airbus A330 F-GZCO is a direct sister ship to F-GZCP,which was lost in June 2009,operating as Air France Flight 447.
The first one was so smooth, the air/ground logic took time to kick in, hence the late deployment of the ground spoilers.
That Twin Otter at about 4 minutes took noise abatement REALLY seriously.

@@Calsaviation I'm an Airbus CA for American and our procedures are to leave the strobes in the auto position, so they only activate when airborne (similar to the MD-80's).
Not fan of how Boeing dropped the front landing gear lights, looks like there are no take-off lights on
