The fiasco involved with cleaning the aftermath of food from your braces makes eating feel not worth it. I just got mine and I can't tolerate all that junk around the brackets multiple times a day with the hassle after. It becomes clear that eating what I want or used to eat is simply not worth it now. I don't want to bulk up on so many carbs on the list. I guess protein shakes will be a predominant menu item most of the time

You can eat everything as long as you are careful, if you eat something too hard...I would have to ask you why you do it...just use common sense... I did lots of research of it...

When I first got my braces I normally just ate rice, soup and anything really soft like that :)

they're called bite blocks, it's to prevent your top and bottom teeth from getting in contact, since you probably have an overbite
