    Sick video man. My instructor taught not to lube the mating surface between the block/cap to bearing. Supposely it can contribute to spinning bearings. Only the bearing to journal gets prelude.

    A lot on the block has already had to be hela coiled in strange or crazy ways - including a cam tower threading. Some of the aluminum has straight up dug out over time.

      The point in it is to keep EVERYTHING lubricated. Metal to metal for even a second is bad. When a motor starts up it takes a few or more seconds to properly provide oil to the entire motor. So this helps with that. It’s pretty obvious if you understand the point of oil in an engine.

    Awesome video!!! I just found this channel - I wish I had this when I was putting my SR together. I have a simple question about wiring that I haven't been able to get answered. I have a stock s13 that's been in my shed for years. I recently replaced the blown KA with the SR I just rebuilt. I got a Wiring Specialties upper and lower harness. There is a gray female 8-pin connector next to the fuse box near the passenger wheel under the hood; it's next to two other connectors that I read will not be used. The upper engine harness and lower transmission harnesses BOTH have gray male 8-pin male connectors that will fit. Can you tell me which harness is supposed to plug into this connector?

    Hey, Fantastic video!
    I bought a pre-disassembled SR and all the bolts were in 1 bag so I'm glad to know Mazworx offer those.
    I have a question about the conrod studs. Do you replace them with ARP units or do you keep the ones that came on the rods? You seem to make a lot of power with your builds so your advice is gospel in my books.
    My build is very similar to this with just nismo bearings, cosworth gasket and ARP head and main studs. So I'm wondering if it's worth upgrading the conrod studs too.

    • @AlphaHSG
      @AlphaHSG  Год назад

      Love all the Mazworks parts for SR!
      For the rods I’ve used the same studs never had a problem. The motors walls max out at 450-500hp depending on engines life of fluids such as if it’s had consistent coolant or straight water. Rods, pistons, crank, most of everything on a SR can take 500hp. Fail points are mainly the bearings. You can upgrade bolts if you’d like tho.

    • @AlphaHSG
      @AlphaHSG  Год назад

      Stock sr can take 450-500hp if done correctly biggest fail points are bearings and oil pressure issue. To answer your question stock works just fine
