This definitely worked. Aceton ate up all the glue, but I think I used a little too much because it also ate into the deck so that the paint job got smeared a bit. It's just that outside layer of fiberglass on the board that covered the paint, but do you think that damage is alright? Or should I try to get someone to look at it in case it's going to cause issues down the road?
What worked best for me is either metal wire or fishing line and have one person hold the board and you pull the fishing line to pull up the traction pad but great tip
Yeah it was really oily so it forced me to wash it 3 times (soap and water and a rinse). Dried it the last time. But it was super clean when I put on the new traction pad.
i wouldn't use Turpentine. 30yrs ago I used turpentine on my board few times and it started ti delaminate badly and it wasn't that old then. Acetone is good. Or 3M glue remover. Or yeah use fising line string pull through beneath.
Why won’t you take all the wax off of your board while your at it? Especially if you’re putting on a traction new pad? Bigger question is why would you even put on a new pad on such an old board. I bet the pad costs more than that surfboard. This vid makes very little sense but at least you got the old pad off, too bad it took you so long.
incredible! You are a master of the masters! Fucking champ. I couldn't live without your tips! Greaaat... keep on going! ¬¬'
Haha thanks dude! 🤣

Hmm that's strange... if it's still water tight it should be ok, but it's hard to say without seeing it
Thanks man, I appreciate it. It looks watertight for the most part, so I'll just ride it and hope for the best

Interesting, never heard of that before!
Hairdryer, peel from the corner only heating the edge you're peeling.
Also a good method 👍🏼
I just did this yesterday! lol! took me an hr. I used goo-gone & washed it 3 times after because the goo-gone can make it oily.
Nice! Yeah goo gone is weird, it's supposed to clean stuff but it leaves its own residue haha

I was hating the music in this video, but then the Spongebob reference came in and saved it. Nice work.
haha crisis averted!
yea the music really ruins it
Thank you that helped me so much. I also love your products Especially the bike racks
Thanks Henry! 🙌 always here for you 🫡
Hahaha i first read "How to remove a surfboard FROM your traction pad" hahaha good tips
Haha either way, just get that old thing off! 😁
Damn that acetone dried up quick. Thanks Ho Stevie you’re the best!
yeah buddy 🤙

ok ok good tips! 🙌
But I just put mine on....
Seriously though I put mine on after removing the old one after watching this. So TY
Yeah brother! Stoked it helped 🙌🏽
WD40 dissolves the glue almost instantly, then a bit of turpentine/acetone to degrease
is there anyway wd-40 could damage the board or no?
@@selfmadedan3898 never seen any adverse effects so far
@@nkbtnk aight thanks
Hi! I just got a 6.4 poliester board. Should I get a back grip on it or not? I’ve never used one and this is my first own board.
polyester like a hard board? I would put a rear traction pad on it, yes 👍
Soft tops and longboards are the only boards I ride without traction pads
using kerosene insted acetone will it work? thanks!
mmmm not so sure about that one
aweeee yeaaaa! That new new tho!!!
i wanted to order the front and back foot traction pad but noticed only the back one ships world wide, kind of wierd..
yeah sorry, Amazon is kinda random about that. I wish I could enable shipping everywhere!
Bought a used board and the owner scattered 4 different trac pad pieces (all different colors) on the board. Thank you, this helped a lot :)
Hahaha artsy
Acetone? Thats risky.
it worked!
@@HoStevie Yeah, I run out of acetone, I then run out of turpentine, but I had a big bottle of white spirit, and that stuff worked like magic.
Acetone can melt the foam of your board, not to mention what that shit does to your skin
👍👍👍

because this isn't a video about removing the wax. And the pads are $20 www.amazon.com/Ho-Stevie-Surfboard-Traction-Skimboarding/dp/B01N4VHR5Y/
