We were blown away growing up and listening to all the great groups and singers back in the late '60s, 70's, '80s, 90's. We were so blessed and partied all the time and just had fun.
I opened for Kool and the gang in I believe 1977 in Norfolk Va
This was the second song they played. It was surreal!! I was in a trance! Unbelievable!
One of the most revered instrumentals ever.
I'll never forget hearing this song live at an outdoors summer concert. It was like being in heaven.
Will Smith sampled this and made a hit called "Summertime." Most of these rappers wouldn't' have a career if they didn't sample from 70s and 80s artists.

One of the best instrumental songs of all time! Kool and the Gang were trend setters in a time were new music was coming out weekly. They started out playing jazz and then transitioned over to a more funky sound. This song is a must play at their concerts. This made me pick up the bass guitar. Kool’s instrument of choice.

I LOVE this beautiful smooth jazz tune. It's definitely my #1 by Kool & the Gang. It was used in the first "Rocky" movie, when Rocky was making his move with Adrian 😉❤💖❤

Just jamming.... keep this jam on repeat wow! the rhythmic guitar play along with those heavenly Cloud9 synthesizer keys, are just out of this world! what a great jazz fusion classic that never gets old or tired of hearing from 1974 this is 2021 and is still sounds just as fresh today!
Very different from their usual style, but one of my all time favorites.
This tune is literally timeless. If you heard it in a 2010s chillout downtempo club you'd think it was fresh.

If you enjoyed this version of SUMMER MADNESS you should hear the live version from the Rainbow Theater in London from 1976 it’s one of the greatest performances of that song they ever performed. KOOL AND THE GANG was and still is one of the greatest BANDS IN MUSIC HISTORY, I’ve been watching them perform since 1967 and have NEVER BEEN DISSATISFIED OR DISAPPOINTED, also KOOL AND THE GANG Members were some of the NICEST DOWN TO EARTH BROTHERS I’VE EVER HAD THE CHANCE OF MEETING WHEN I WAS YOUNG.

I'm begging you to react to Kool and the Gang's "Whisper Softly", "Jungle Boogie", and "Spirit of the Boogie" because you mentioned on few occasions that the "talent drop off" is significant when think that in the 70s there were musicians who played instruments. Many of today's artist just have synthetic drum beat and few have any instrumentality of even a good hook....Again, I'm begging check out those songs mentioned above...
