here are a few questions to all the vegetablists/ vegans who want the world to go veggy1, if the world went veggy, what would happen to the worlds livestock?2, where would the food come from to feed a 9 billion population by 2050?3, what would happen to the indigenous people of the world who depend on livestock, not only as a food source, but also as a part of their culture? (Masai Herdsmen, Lapp Herders, Inuit People, Dinka People etc)4, how do you intend to bend peoples freewill in what they choose to your own particular agenda?
1. Livestock populations are human altered to fit our demand for meat. If we stop artificially selecting these animals and breeding them to excessive amounts, the population of livestock will balance out by itself. The population will return to normal numbers over a course of a few years. 2. It takes 17 lbs of grain to produce one pound of beef. In other words, in order to raise a livestock animal for meat, you need to feed it excessive amounts to fatten in. These people don't depend on meat. They could easily eat the 17lbs of grain they are feeding the livestock and eat it over the course of a week instead of eating one pound of beef for 1 specific dinner. 3. The population of the world is 8B, and as I said earlier, 17lbs grain = 1 lb of beef. This also means, by ways of survey calculations, that all starving people would be feed 7X over if we all ate a vegan diet. 4. It is not your free will to end another being's life. It is your free will to do whatever the hell you want, AS LONG
YOURE NOT HURTING ANYTHING ELSE. A decision to eat meat affects the world around you and the animals, not just you. Therefore, it is not your free will to eat meat and we have every right to tell you you're wrong.
+Kevin Peterson 1, so you advocate wholesale extinction of species? 2, Where do you arrive at this figure? USDA figures have that figure around 6-12 lb and of that figure, most is comprised of food that is classed as unfit for human consumption, due to a Nitrogen content that IS TOO HIGH FOR HUMANS TO DIGEST. ( Google it if you don't believe me).3, As stated by the U.N the planets population is on course to hit 9 billion by 2050, that is the figure I quoted. 4, That is your opinion. Are you trying to enforce your will on the mass population?
sir, if google is your source and you are listening to the FDA in regards to the meat industry, i think you've said more than enough incorrect information. thank you lmao. secondly, am i trying to enforce my will on the mass population? you bet i fucking am. I know you think factory farming has no consequences and that we are "controlling the cattle population" but if we stop breeding them, the population will simply balance out. they wont go extinct, lets get real here. and hey, you now why the food is filled with nitrogen? because we spray the hell out of it with chemicals to get it to grow extremely fast, because god forbid we slow down the slaughter of innocent animals by not feeding them tons of unnatural crap not designed for their bodies. your statistics look pretty, but they dont say shit.
Too bad he didn't show specific practises the dairy industry must preform in order to steal the cows milk. I mean its pretty obvious, its a business, he wants to bring in more customers, not scare them away with the truth. Thats why they don't show the truth, because its blatantly obvious its cruel and not okay.
***** That is misleading and ungrounded it is also offensive. I am a dairy farmer, I can tell you there is no reason to mistreat or abuse cows. It is a sack-able offense in my system. Please don't make dairy farmers out to be criminals. The majority of us care a lot about the cows and are proud of what we have and what we do thats why we do it. I dont work long hours from early starts for the money its pretty poor really for the amount of work and responsibility we have to the animals we look after, the environment we need to take care of and the people we have in our systems. I'm proud of what I do and who I am. Im a a dairy farmer
MrTheBigOx So your proud of using the animals? Taking the milk away from the new born calf? Killing the mother when she cant produce anymore milk at a fairly early age because she would be costing you money as its nothing but a business? Male calfs becoming veal in most cases not even getting to enjoy life? Even if your not a factory farmer, and you have a pasture, feed them grass and treat them well, that doesn't justify against you using them and abusing them. How can taking their milk and taking their life early and selling the male calfs to be killed not be abuse??? Please explain!
It's called marketing. You think they'd publicize industry standard abuse when filming a video for promotional purposes? Ps. the dairy industry is not only abusive to animals, but the "special cow food" that they mix the grass into to make the cows "produce lots of milk" is really hormones. Milk is a bodily fluid to anything the cow ingests also affects everyone that consumes the cow's milk. Milk is nor cruelty free, nor healthy.
my boyfriend's family own an organic dairy farm with 40 cows in France, they told me that milk from a cow who just delivery in an organic farm in France is not allowed to sell during two weeks, so why they still have to separate the calves from their mothers? Its because of a sickness called Paratuberculosis which can be prevented by cleaning cow's teats before calves drinking milk from their mothers. ''The infection is usually acquired through the fecal-oral route. Paratuberculosis in cattle is characterized by weight loss, diarrhea, debilitation and eventually death, but infected animals can appear healthy for months to years. No satisfactory treatment is known. Control requires good sanitation and management practices aimed at limiting the exposure of young animals to the organism. Calves, kids, or lambs should be birthed in areas free of manure, removed from the dam immediately after birth in the case of dairy cattle, bottle-fed colostrum that has been pasteurized or obtained from dams that test negative, and then reared segregated as much as possible from adults and their manure until >1 yr old. '' (Informations from The Merck Veterinary Manual) Of course it is not nice to separate them, but I could understand for farmers, health of the animals is more important while others might focus more on freedom of animals.
You really believe that. Wow They are so kind to take the calf away form its mother and lock it in a cage to make veal, and so the mother is forced to keep producing milk way longer than if the calf was with her and weaned naturally, before its artificially impregnated again and the cycle goes on and one till the poor cow is sick and worn out,... when it then taken off to be slaughtered.. Yeh, such nice kind people on the dairy farm... just don't want the babies to get sick form dirt on the mothers teats. lol
It seems there are two "extremes" of videos on the internet regarding dairy farming. The first are these types of videos where idyllic, happy cows are shown without any mention of animal abuse. The others are the overtly vegan-agenda documentaries that show specific cases of animal abuse as "industry standard". So what is actually happening in dairy farms? My guess is that most are treated well like in this video, however once the cameras are turned off, they are enduring the pains of birth regularly, and have male calves taken away from them.
The calves - male or female - are separated from the mother at birth to prevent disease and infection on both their parts. The cow's teats are not clean, so if the calf feeds off them, they could get infected. The calves have teeth, so if they drink from the mother, they could bite her and cause an infection. The cow doesn't even produce milk for human consumption right after giving birth. She produces a substance called colostrum which is meant for the calf. It is collected and fed to the calf.
Cows on all farms are quite content and well looked after. Those cruelty cases come from a minority of dairy farms, quite possibly less than 5%. Theyre the farms that give the whole industry a bad name because of certain organisations who put up misleading videos and say "this level of cruelty is industry standard" they go to the cruelest farm they can find, shoot some footage and pick out the worst bits to then bitch about calling it industry standard. Go to any farm and almost 100% i can guarantee you, you will see good living conditions and happy well cared for and loved cows. Many, quite old only proving that the 3 year milk production climax is a bunch of bullshit to be ignored
I mean it sounds terrible to have the calves taken from them, but really its not like people, dairy cows have a terrible mothering instinct. For example, one time one of our cows gave birth unexpectently in the shed with the other cows, and the mother was ignoring the callf as it tried to suck milk from another cow. Plus they still get the milk and most of what we get is actually from the (unfortunate) miscarrages and deaths that happen more often that you might think.
I found this video quite reassuring. Posting this was a brave thing to do, given the predictable angry comments of the vegans and the soy milk proponents. I do not care about the GMO paranoia, but I'm concerned that the cows whose milk I consume be treated humanely. I really like those gentle animals. In my childhood I spent many summers on a small family farm, often watching the cows as they grazed, so I have a good reference point. I think the cows in this video are well treated. The color of this milk is amazing - I would so like to taste it. I will not buy milk from a factory farm (the gallons of the cheap staff at your grocer's), as the animals there are subjected to unbelievable horrors. This operation is heaven in comparison.
+Vlad Wilbur As you know, cows need to have a calf to produce milk, therefore they are raped repeatedly to have calf after calf to produce milk. All these calfs are either killed or kept for couple of months and then killed for veal meat. Therefore I wouldn't class this operation as heaven.
+BenTheNo1 don't be silly! You say calfs are killed after a couple of month? Where do you think dairy cows come from? flying from the sky? No, calfs grow up at the same farm until they become dairy cows themselves. And on the vast majority of farms they are treated well, because, as many others have pointed out, cows don't produce good milk if they aren't well treated. Secondary, why do you think that cows are raped? You do know that almoust every other grasseating animal in the wild gives birth once a year. That's in their nature. I suggest you read up on the subject before you start commenting.
+BenTheNo1 Of course bulls are slaughtered. Thant's how meatproduction works. But the majority not after a "couple of months", and never in any case right away. Hence my suggestion that you should read up on the subject. insemination of cows takes place when cows are rutting, and in several cases bulls are brought together with the cows to mate. Thats not rape. And believe me, insemenation done by a veterinarian is a much more peaceful affaire. Rape? cows can't even grasp the topic of rape. And if any animal brain was so developed that it could reflect on such topics one likely couldn't have domesticated them in the first place. If you call insemination of cows rape, what about castration of housecats or dogs? Or for that matter keeping any animal, cows, dogs, cats or horses captive for human purposes throughout history ever?
It’s not their fault that they say the things they do. They really feel for the animals. One day I will be a vegan, once I’m at the age I can safely transition. But I likely won’t be outside protesting at restaurants or anything like that. Like what is the point? Just to ruin someone’s day? No one will just change like that. So I don’t support that, or the type of things many vegans say. But I am still on the side of veganism.
@@calebmanuel17 I’m Vegan now, and thanks for the reply. If you really want to know, I suggest you to watch some of the things I’ve linked. First of all, here’s the truth about the dairy industry: ruclips.net/video/x9sSDTbJ8WI/видео.html
I really enjoyed this video and it was a good education tool for my grandchildren. The 8 year old went to the refrigerator and took out the gallon of milk..poured a glass and just look at it in aaw. He says he knew milk came from cows but he never thought about the process. What is the tune around 1:40, because it takes me way beck to my child hood in the 50s and cartoons?
Please watch ` Dairy is scary,´ `Cowspiracy´ and `what the health´ and stop misleading your grandchildren. You are not doing them any favors by being in a sentimental imaginary world. Practically no dairy farm looks like this any more. Milk is not particularly healthy for us. Getting it from the cows involves a lot of unbearable misery. Dairy is really bad for the planet and are being subsidized by the government.
What's done to the milk between the milking, and it showing up in a carton on the store shelves? Purification? Preservatives? Additives? Boiling? Anything?
***** they don't "get rid" of calves they just raise them on a bottle untill they are about 5 months old and then they let them back in the pasture with all the rest of the cattle
All these vegan bastards think cows should be free and be wild but you do realise they wouldn't last 2 weeks.they would die without shelter and proper care
Great video for teaching kids where milk comes from - my 4 year old loved it! One little suggestion, for small kids it might be better to leave out songs that include foul language - a 'minor' point :-) (if you'll pardon the pun)
I hope you get your child to stop drinking cows milk once you realize how unhealthy and unethical it is. This is not the full story. They neglected to show you in between that the newborn calf who helped produce the milk production in the mother had been taken away and sold to the veal industry for murder. How would you feel if a child was taken from you? Cows have these emotions too. Please, look for substitutes! You are giving your child pus that is meant for baby calves to gain 100+ lbs!
+Kevin Peterson I have no doubt that you are absolutely correct in the vast majority of cases, that cows are treated abusively on factory farms. But I'm sure that this is not true in all cases. I have (had) a good friend who kept cows in a free-range situation and treated them with utmost respect and care. If you think this is also unethical 9which I'm sure you do) then I would suggest that this is a result of your beliefs, which are not likely objectively defensible nor shared by a great many others. Therefore I suggest you do not target individuals in your proselytizing as you have done with me, but publish a personal blog where you may broadcast your views to a wider audience.
woah, sir, never targeted you in an evil or mean way. im simply revealing the truth to you. That is all. in order for mammals to give milk, they must give birth. if we drink the milk, the calves dont. its only a simple fact, and thats all there is to it. They dont raise the baby cows, they send them to the veal industry, because it is more efficient. just know, milk drinking causes a lot more harm than you think, both to your health and to the planet/animals. thank you.
LearnToLetGo what would u know about farming I milk cows twice a day every day and if we didn’t milk them they would get sick and possibly die As for taking the calves off the cow we do this for the calves safety because I’ve seen times where the calf was left with the cow for a few hours so that they could get the milk off the cow and the cow started pushing the calf around and sometimes even sit on them and smother them
+William Beattie Well red meat is associated with cancer and obviously some of the meat borne diseases. Also meat has a great amount of cholesterol and saturated fats. I'm not a vegan, I'm just saying. Meat on a daily basis is worse than being vegan.
+mayur Shah Saturated fat is actually good for you, the idea that it is not was something some random vegan business executive made up on the spot. Trans fat is the kind of fat that is bad for you. Don't get me wrong though, anything in excess is bad for you. As far as red meat causing cancer goes, any time you cook food, you make it slightly cancerous, the carbon molecules produced by wood fires, and the radiation produced by microwaves, can both lead to cancer.
rupal jankee I’m watching and wishing what the milk industry should be:( u k le they fully support slaughter houses?! Cuz after they shoot, abuse, rape, take baby’s away, don’t clean them, etc etc... They send them right off to the slaughter houses! So yh, I’ve seen all they do, and it’s FAR more disturbing than I EVER thought! If everyone saw the truth I swear to god they’d all turn vegan😢 I’m an extremely empathetic person so I can really picture being in their helpless desperate petrified tortured poor shiny eyes🥺😣💔🐏🐖🐐🐄🐔 If ANYONE did ANYTHIHG to a dog or a cat that they do to pigs chicken cows goats etc etc... Everyone would be demanding change and it would be a global crisis! But society has decided who has moral value and who are apparently intelligant when the others “aren’t”! And people call vegans preachy and forceful! By yet their supporting the ACTUAL force! Anyways if anyone ranted and fought for justice care empathy and compassion towards dog abuse or child abuse! Everyone would support them and cheer them on! But when we you try and defend the animals who are given FAR worse treatment their “forcing morals down peoples throats” their “too angry” or their “preachy”! It’s unfair... And it confuses me sooo much that you can care soo much for one, but then eat the other!?🥺💔🐔🐄🐖🐏 BE HONEST! The mass money you receive from buyers mainly and the government, you use to fake advertise lies of happiness, health, freedom and care!! Because if you actually showed the truth then you would go out of business! Because everyone would be traumatised!!
look I know none of you know about farming but at least know that milk comes from the cows teats (not nipples) like all milk is produced by the breasts (human) and the udder (equivalent to the breasts) it comes from the same place !! and plus 100 odd years ago there where fewer cows (like 1 or 2) on one farm so it wasn't hard to milk them all by hand !
There's not much else to explain. Look in to your facts before complaining. The cow wants to be milked and under her own judgement she walks in to get milked.
So much stupidity in the comments of milking videos wish I could respond to it all but let me get this strait unhappy cows produce bad milk also they produce less milk, abuse of cows is very rare its a perfect example of bad apples spoiling the bunch on the farm I work on we have cows that are nearly 6 years old they are hardly slaughtered, the cows love milking or they wouldn't come into the parlour and calves are only taken away from there mothers when they either don't feed there calf, don't want it, don't know what to do with the calf or are to old, so could you idiots please educate yourselves instead of watching 1 or 2 videos of animal abuse and calling all farmers evil most farmers love there cows and get awfully offended when you say that they abuse them.....
hahhahhahah omfg your are talking so much shite "rape" wow you do know that, thats how nature fucking works.... and hardly any farmers sell calves for veal so educate yourself before commenting "BenTheNo1"
+massoverdrive11 Google cow rape rack and do some learning. What else do you think they do with all the make calfs? Bring them up as pets? Nope they are a byproduct of impregnating cows. Think you need to do your own research.
+massoverdrive11 yes, cows have calfs as intended by nature, but not constantly, they are forced by humans to continually have calfs. At an unnatural rate.

Boots Randolph - Yakety Sax
sthpac69 Important to know where food comes from. Americans take everything for granted.

Is there a refining process or how to make different percentages? or chocolate milk???
HISTORIA
What's done to the milk between the milking, and it showing up in a carton on the store shelves? Purification? Preservatives? Additives? Boiling? Anything?
it has to be cleaned and tested before selling
I like the part when the song "Yakety Sax" was featured.

Just support the ones that are!! Theres coconut milk, almond milk, soy milk, hazelnut milk, hemp milk, sunflower milk, cashew milk, rice milk, 7 grain milk, oat milk, quinoa milk and flax milk. :)
***** they don't "get rid" of calves they just raise them on a bottle untill they are about 5 months old and then they let them back in the pasture with all the rest of the cattle
And all of those are unnatural and cause cancer. Oh wait, everything nowadays causes cancer! feelsbadman XD
Jacob, yeah right and two months later they do get slaughtered
Of a breed.

They can bottle feed the calfs them self

The cow is annoyed! Because the person is releasing the milk from the cow XD
What was the red wax looking stuff that he put on after milking them? What is that for?
Probably Iodine. We use it after milking on our cows teats to help keep them free of bacteria and to help stop infection.
,:'
Good explanation, but I don't see when the milk is heated in the pasteurization process ... !!!
2:50 2:55 LOL

They dont raise the baby cows, they send them to the veal industry, because it is more efficient. just know, milk drinking causes a lot more harm than you think, both to your health and to the planet/animals. thank you.
Not the truth at all. most farms are like this.
LearnToLetGo what would u know about farming
I milk cows twice a day every day and if we didn’t milk them they would get sick and possibly die
As for taking the calves off the cow we do this for the calves safety because I’ve seen times where the calf was left with the cow for a few hours so that they could get the milk off the cow and the cow started pushing the calf around and sometimes even sit on them and smother them

HE NEED SOME MILK!
Were is this one
god it would suck balls to work on a milk farm before they had machines... Imagine doing all that by hand
Before TV, computers, phones, cars, and the majority of entertainment we have now. Milking a cow was not bad.
Do you ever notice how vegans only spout how healthy their lifestyle supposedly is, they never mention the health issues associated with it.
+William Beattie There's also health issues associated without being vegan, if not more.
+UniqueFreaxx Research that statement very closely. There is no real medical proof of that.
+William Beattie Well red meat is associated with cancer and obviously some of the meat borne diseases. Also meat has a great amount of cholesterol and saturated fats. I'm not a vegan, I'm just saying. Meat on a daily basis is worse than being vegan.
+mayur Shah What kind of meat are you citing in your answer?
+mayur Shah Saturated fat is actually good for you, the idea that it is not was something some random vegan business executive made up on the spot. Trans fat is the kind of fat that is bad for you. Don't get me wrong though, anything in excess is bad for you. As far as red meat causing cancer goes, any time you cook food, you make it slightly cancerous, the carbon molecules produced by wood fires, and the radiation produced by microwaves, can both lead to cancer.
Cows are so beautiful. At least here i dont see cows being illtreated.
rupal jankee I’m watching and wishing what the milk industry should be:( u k le they fully support slaughter houses?! Because everyone would be traumatised!!
rupal jankee long story short, if they showed the truth and didn’t make it seem like a good place, they would go out of business
look I know none of you know about farming but at least know that milk comes from the cows teats (not nipples) like all milk is produced by the breasts (human) and the udder (equivalent to the breasts) it comes from the same place !! and plus 100 odd years ago there where fewer cows (like 1 or 2) on one farm so it wasn't hard to milk them all by hand !

wowwwwww great
where is that farm from??
Northern Ireland
You know what I love? How you don't show the FULL process.
Me too :)
There's not much else to explain. Look in to your facts before complaining. The cow wants to be milked and under her own judgement she walks in to get milked.
BG Idiot.
That is the full process from field to parlour to putting the clusters on to spraying them to then sending em back out to grass
What else do you want? You hardly want to see the manure spreading cos theres a fair bit of it going on in here...
What happens if male calf is born? What happens with them🤔
Where is this ? Do you sell cows ??
+BenTheNo1 male calfs*
+massoverdrive11 yes, cows have calfs as intended by nature, but not constantly, they are forced by humans to continually have calfs. At an unnatural rate.
