Honestly, I first thought AI would be a good tool for creators who needed it and was generally excited to see it as a template for people's projects and ideas. But sadly that's not at all how people use it and it's honestly, disappointing that big companies use it as a way, to save money instead of simply budgeting to make good content.

Me too! I was so excited by the prospect of streamlining my work flow, but it became such a moral issue with how it's sourced that it's become useless/unusable, at the very least stigmatized, even if used with consideration.
I'm definitely willing to accept very small creators using the crutch, but I have no idea other than when it "feels" not right anymore to say when that lenience cuts off though :/

I'm getting a lot more worried about the fact that a lot of thieves and "artists" now can VERY easily bypass the generative AI filters on stock websites simply by not disclosing that they used AI. Put in 'anime' into any of the search engines and then turn on the filter that says "exclude AI" and there is still a ton of AI on display.
So for many people it's already hard for them to distinguish AI at first and even second glance. Now these same sorts of people are thinking they're doing a good thing by avoiding it and it's still getting to them, and they may use it in their minds ethically but they were actually tricked by the thieves yet again, and these websites are allowing it to happen.

I am ok with AI being used for a tool, such as scheduling, giving a quick and dirty explanation of something, etc,... but the whole generative based on stolen creative works/put into a smoothie and calling it "art" thing where it goes ick for me.
I think I would prefer all AI "art" being disclosed as made by generative AI.
In the example you use, I kinda view how he used it as "fluff" or "AI glitter". I think he probably could have found a way to make the video work without AI art, but the pacing/editing of that video was so fast paced that it probably felt hard to keep up with that for the whole video. Because of the insane pace, the AI art probably felt like a manageable solution.

@@DancingWithDiscomfort the people using generative AI for content farming are the ones I don't understand the most. Like creepy pasta vids, where they generate the image, and have a lifeless ai read a story they didn't even write themselves! I just don't know what the point is, the waste of effort, I'd hope they're not "proud" of it so... Stop? Lol
