I agree with Tonahuac the camera is pointed to the ground. I really like your video's and I don't want to miss out on anything. As soon as I heal up I am going to attend some of your invites. I am former military and I am missing the field....
Good times with good people, I can't wait till the next Group camp out or hike! Thanks again Alan for putting on such a Great event. It's always nice to meet new people that are like-minded and enjoy the outdoors. 👍🏻⛺️🍻
Wish I could have made the camping trip, pulled muscle the week before, but did get the chance to say hello to Pharraoh when he was pulling his truck into South Fork for the hike. Next car camp I will be there. Thanks for the inspiration and posting all the videos Pharraoh.
Again, thanks so much Alan for the invite. My daughter and wife enjoyed it, meeting new friends and hearing some old stories about the area. Truly worth it.
Thank you Alan another great meeting up. My son and I had a blast. It was great seeing everyone again and nice meeting new friends. I'm looking forward to the next adventure peace :-)
Great stuff Alan, I like how you show the different tents and setups. It always gives people a few ideas that they can use and try themselves. Atb Glenn.
+Troy Lindsey thank you Troy, you remind me of a friends son, his dad was always in jail or not around, he wandered the treats and always played street fighter with me at the liqure store. Now, HE, is in prison, just like his dad. Poor kid never had a chance in life. You look like he use to look. haaaaaa-dooooo-ken!
Why........when I see tagging in our sacred places, why. I guess I will never understand that kind of mentality. If I wasn't so dang far away I would be there with you. Looks like great fun and friendship.
Thanks for putting this event on Alan, had a great time. on another note, if you ever do another get together where you remove graffiti like you did a couple of years ago with that special paint, me and the wife will help out an maybe we can clean up those rocks by the waterfall, just a suggestion. Thanks for a great weekend. Dave S, owner of the lodge and recliner ;- )
+DMSONE3 That spot is a magnet to spray paint. rangers took it all off about 8 years back, a week later, it was worse than ever. fresh surfaces for the roaches
Alan, doing a meet up like this again in the spring would be great. It would be a good way for me to meet you and your fellow friends. For me as a beginner into camping this campground has facilities. For me only a 1 and a half or 2 hours depending on traffic from Santa Barbara.
I need to get a paint ball gun and sit up on the Bonita Falls trail. Lets see how the tagers like being painted. Know the area VERY well. Had some friends that lived on south fork road. That is terrible what they have done to that beautiful canyon. Yea I know violence is not the way to fix the problem. But it's very temping.
OR should add a tie out at the footbox of that bivy and it would be perfect. using a treking pole or ice ax to lift it up slightly with some shock cord
+PHARRAOH yeah i saw you show that..but i think it would still be nice to have in case you want to pull the fabric off your bags and help get more air flow. i have found even my net bivy from borah gear having a foot loop tie out is nice even though its not needed.
What a neat area and falls. I wish I could have made it; looks like a grand time and a great group. Such a shame about the graffitti, that always ruins it for me.
The Graffiti made me sick. Better hope I don't see someone taggin or they going to be the one getting tagged. I enjoy your videos Pharraoh happy trails man.
Yea, I camped at Applewhite Campground as a Boy Scout decades ago. I have a CJ5 Jeep I bought in ‘98 and just got the front diff regeared. Was thinking about the past, camping at the Lytle Creek and Applewhite Campgrounds and later, shooting at the old County Legal Shooting area out past the end of the paved road (closed a long time ago). Thought about taking my Jeep up to Lytle Creek in the next few days and stop by Applewhite to have a look as part of the trip. Checked the internet and that’s when I saw that Applewhite Campground, “Permanently Closed”. Maybe it’s COVID 19 related. Maybe cash-strapped San Bernardino County can’t afford to maintain and monitor it, I don’t know. The satellite images didn’t look great. The Applewhite Day Picnic area across the street and up the road may still be open. You could check with San Bernardino National Forrest as to the status and future plans...
Don't take this wrong I enjoy your videos a lot, only iff you could keep that camera and slowly pan because you move it too fast in several of your videos or pointing down.just my two cents Alan.
in most cases when you see that it's not really feasible because I'm either crossing over a log climbing down ledge or something like that if I stop every time I film in pan slow like people always request it would take way too much time in the ledge I'm coming down could possibly crumble I could slide there's always a reason if my concentration is not on the camera it's probably on my hands or my feet that are keeping me alive the filming come secondary to my life here's an example I'm feeling with one hand and with the other hand I'm going to stick poking around bushes or rocks that I'm working on to make sure rattlesnakes not there to strike me in the leg. if I concentrate on the camera you can see where things might go bad
+PHARRAOH I totally get your point I was talking more like situations like on this video for example but no problem I understand what you meant. Thanks again for you nice video and greetings from Germany,my old home was in Haven and foothill.Thank again for the reply.
+Tonahuac Theonewhocarriesthelight Pharroah: How awesome is this video? I love how you give people the opportunity to be in the great outdoors! I'm in the neighboring state so... (excuses excuses). Btw, I have hypothyroid symptoms so, when I'm listening to what you say (while you're standing on level ground) & the video pans quickly I nearly get crossed-eye. I overcome MY problem and I truly enjoy your videos! I'm always hungry when your videos done, lol.
Yes I do Alan, not as you way deep in the San Bernardino area ,here no bears or snakes, only wild pig, wolfs, deer sheep, cows and tons of ticks.I go on the hills and one thing for sure is you come across old bunkers some destroyed some not.
That is so cool, I never saw a mistletoe tree! I still like that chair too. Do you have the name or link of where to get those chairs? Oh man looking at all that gear and those tents I was almost drooling! Then I got to the part of the graffiti all around that amazing waterfall and that just made me sick!! What an awesome place! ~Dawn

+Justin McKinney the north fork azusa is bad too. I spent all day solo cleaning, covering tagger b.s. and a week later, is was all back. and they camp there with their kids, in all the trash they, them selves throw down. literally like animals and their own crap. bizarre!

+garyg763 many of the people who have joined me at a meet up, I see on the trails a year of two later, now full blown backpackers.
Thanks for putting this event on Alan, had a great time. on another note, if you ever do another get together where you remove graffiti like you did a couple of years ago with that special paint, me and the wife will help out an maybe we can clean up those rocks by the waterfall, just a suggestion. Not sure when it happened, but supposedly Applewhite Campground is now permanently closed.
wow! I hope not. I and my family, have decades and decades of history there.
