    This is a JATCO push-belt transmission. Do you have a demonstration of the pull-chain style of CVT? Toyota actually uses a pull-chain transmission. This push-belt is similar to that used by Nissan. Both transmissions are the same concept, but use completely different topologies.

    Cvt is garbage . You can take two identical Hyundai konas then just read their manuals. The one with the CVT you cannot tow with . The one with the regular geared transmission has a 5,000 lb tow rating . Cvts have no low end torque cannot handle any sort of large torque input . Trash .

      That's because CVT rely completely on friction of the belt instead of interlocking gears like on a manual. A very high demand of torque would just make the belt slip and spin around without moving anything.
