The way his dad spoke "Shaming yourself? Shaming me?" I could already hear Glam from the previous episode where he was teaching Dee how to play a guitar
It’s so weird to see Glam/Sebastian without a smile. I fully get *why* he isn’t smiling, but he really feels like a totally different person here. I’m so happy he managed to escape his family in the end.
I love how the topic of abuse was handled with such care. This made me tear up and relate to glam so much more. I really hope we can also get Victoria's backstory.
You’d think after all these years, the father would’ve realized all the physical and emotional abuse actually *wasn’t* helping his son improve. So I guess that on top of being batshit, the old man wasn’t too bright.
Most abusive parents aren’t. They think that everything they do is ok and that the kid is just acting up. They would rather blame the kid than themselves.
I suspect that despite his perfect pitch, Glam had no natural talent at music. That's why he reacted did so strongly to Dee playing poorly. He plays well because the voice of his father, which, horrifyingly enough, he internalized, drives him to constantly practice. He matches Ches through sheer force of will. So in a way, the abuse helped him, but not without cost.
Are you kidding?! The man was an animal! Seriously, all abusive parents are animals: no self-restraint, no common sense, and no manners whatsoever! Just put them down like the dogs they are!
@@knightwolf9863 Don't get me wrong, he's a bad person, and Glam might've been happier without him. I'm just saying, pain is one of the things that shapes us into who we are.

omg when I read "damn you copyright" I just heard Doofenshmirtz shouting at Perry the Platypus I can't 💀 also, do you happen to know the name od the song that is in this version??
No one is talking about this but usually the maid and butlers in these abuse stories are sympathetic but Raft is a literal monster insulting him, ratting him out,and getting angry when Glam tries to do anything out of the ordinary
OMG GLAM TREATS HIS SON SO MUCH BETTER THAN HIS OWN FATHER. In the last episode he gets angry at him and burst out like his father when dee couldn't play the guitar and he got really shocked at himself but they apologised .
I feel so bad for the people that relate to glam's past. I'm so sorry that any of you would have to go through something so terrible and agonizing. I wish you all well.. And this episode hit different even though I grew up in a normal household I try to put myself in his place and I don't even know how I would still be alive.
Even though we're not rich but middle class, my family has a reputation to uphold because of their status in this society, and me being the "different" one in my family just hits hard, he's probably the most relatable character I've encountered
I genuinely started breaking down when Glam started sobbing on his bed after the chat with his father, I know the EXACT feeling and I just started having a breakdown with Glam. The intrusive thoughts, pushing people who are nice to you away in fear of what your family might think, a sibling who isn’t there to support you but instead bring you down, the abuse and the way Glam sobbed and began throwing everything in his room on the floor. Everything. Everything, 100% accurate, and finally, Glam growing incredibly tired and feeling numb and giving up by playing music to distract himself and being too exhausted to push himself off his own bed. Ouch ouch ouch, that was the feeling of my heart breaking bro, bravo to the writers and the team, incredible piece of art this episode and every episode before and after this one is, mwah! Edit: I forgot to mention but Glam wishing harm onto his family is another thing I sympathize with. It might seem cruel out of context but it’s clear he’s only caught up in the heat of the moment and not actually going to do anything, even if he did have intrusive thoughts, he clearly needs help and therapy if he’s having intrusive thoughts but after his family has hurt him for so long I could see why he would wish bringing “lice” or the plague or smth of the sorts. It’s clear he just wants them to feel the pain he’s feeling. I love Glam and i’m so so happy he got out of that situation somehow. Also small shout out to Chive!! Love Chive!1!1
14:27 I felt this so bad. My mom is constantly nagging and lecturing me I just can't escape from it so this moment hits home just going to my room and completely breaking down.
I was so confused when I started actually watching the series seriously, because this was the first episode I watched and I thought that the rest would be more like this one. Idk But I absolutely love it now.
Ok, this is my first time watching, but fucking hell, Glam lived a actual hell I have never seen before. Like I generally felt so disgusted watching and hearing every aspect of this fucking family put him through, those thoughts he had were justified, I get why he acted like that briefly with dee and honestly, i am so curious to see how he became the person he is today, it’s so vastly different that I am just compelled. I just found this series and wow, I am invested
it’s such an accurate portrayal it hurts. between school and home i couldn’t take it. but yeah, i faced physical, emotional, and psychological abuse :(. it’s deadly accurate
I have to compliment how well written this is, and the fact they cover abuse is amazing. It shows people some forms of discipline can be considered as severe abuse to your child.
Is no one gonna mind this part? 5:31 he fell asleep while imagining something worse and he didn’t seem to have any much expression and fell asleep like if those bad thoughts were normal-
I mean being treated like shit for a majority of your life and being punished like that. Im sure he resents his father maybe even hates him. I think the underlying thought is that he wants his father to understand the pain and mental anguish he goes through with how he treats him so those thoughts are a relief so that his father understands his suffering
As a music education major the small parts with Glam and Chive about them talking about music just warmed my heart srsly despite the depressing episode
Can we just appreciate, that although Glam was upset with Dee two episodes ago for the way Dee reacted, he didn’t react like his father(using violence). He steadied his breathing when Dee gave up on the guitar. Glam isn’t going to let himself become like Gustav, and I love the depth of character.
This definitely reminds me of my best friend introduction me to rock. Before that was Christian and religion force down my throat and it was a escape and now it made me realize to pursue everything, and that I say thanks to the Land SHARK!

Recent fan, I finished the original Russian verison a few weeks back when I was introduced to the show via English dub. I SIMPLY LOVE THIS SHOW. Glam's childhood simply break my heart. The animation and voice acting (in both languages) know how to convey such emotion! ❤ I'll admit tho, I wish the end song was still Twisted Sister but I understand, copyright can be so annoying. This song that was used was cool, is there a full verison of the song somewhere on You Tube?

"Shaming yourself, shaming me" He said the same thing his dad would say to him. Then he started walking towards Dee in a threatening manner but stopped himself when he heard him call out Dad looking scared. I'm glad he caught himself there and later apologized. Still though telling him he had no musical talent while praising the other sibling, didn't sit well with me. However, I'm so glad he's trying to break free from the generational trauma. He stopped before actually hurting his son, he apologized when he realized he was being harsh. He kept himself on a timer so they don't spend hours and hours, i think it's a way to keep himself in check. He's a much better dad than his was, generational trauma is hard to shake, but he's trying. He still have a ways to go because at the end of the day Dee did get disheartened by his words and by something that's actually a challenge for him. But he's trying, that's more than many can even claim.
That is something to ponder - how did his dad not hear that? Would probably have immediately disowned him over it. Or shot him even. All I can figure is that it's a very large and well-soundproofed house.
Can I just say that the voicing is PERFECT?! And our English counterparts did an absolutely wonderful job! Also the amount of work to produce new music for the episodes in order to avoid copyrights is impressive. Thank you oh so much!❤️
I freakin love this show! Can't say enough how amazing the English voicing is! Now, Gustav's voice doesn't sound the same, that's true. But it has the same character, the same vibes! And his English laughter sounds even more maniacal, dare I say! And don't even get me started on Ches, his voice is spot-on! Basically identical to the Russian one! It's almost as if he was dubbed by the same person who voiced him in the Original! Anyway, great thanks to everyone who took part in translating this masterpiece of a show into English! And even bigger thank you to original creators! You guys are awesome!
Ive been rewatching this show for like 2 years and i never get bored of it, its something about the animation its a simple but complex animation that gives it a amazing look
Hello! I’ve got a question! So I’m new to the Russian language, and so this might sound stupid of me to ask, but I’ve seen people spell Sebastian spelled as Себастиян or Себастьян. Is there a difference in pronunciation or when you use it, or is one of them a typo? I’m very confused lol
The depths of this episode. The box being the same one his gun came in the one that was sucha catalyst for this episode. It must symbolize the destruction or rebellion or something of glams. Showing that our worst days will still have a an effect on us even after escaping as he unwittingly re-created the tone his father used even if not the physical abuse. I myself was blown away by the recreation of "Beethoven lives upstairs" with the monolouge. Not sure if it was intentional but it got me. This whole episode is so eye opening and heartbreaking. To think if i am not mistaken this all came from one video about love at first sight and returning keys. Brava/Bravo to all involved.

I feel so bad for the people that relate to glam's past. I'm so sorry that any of you would have to go through something so terrible and agonizing. I wish you all well.. And this episode hit different even though I grew up in a normal household I try to put myself in his place and I don't even know how I would still be alive.
Lol I relate and I love making jokes about my trauma
This comment made me tear up a bit, it made me feel human for once, tysm 😕❤
Even though we're not rich but middle class, my family has a reputation to uphold because of their status in this society, and me being the "different" one in my family just hits hard, he's probably the most relatable character I've encountered
@@Loonaurtheworldhelp im the same-
I genuinely started breaking down when Glam started sobbing on his bed after the chat with his father, I know the EXACT feeling and I just started having a breakdown with Glam.

I was so confused when I started actually watching the series seriously, because this was the first episode I watched and I thought that the rest would be more like this one.
Idk
But I absolutely love it now.

That scene with the elderly lady telling Glam he was one of the most gifted she'd seen in 20 years was pretty wholesome. Ngl
I have to compliment how well written this is, and the fact they cover abuse is amazing. It shows people some forms of discipline can be considered as severe abuse to your child.
If you watched the whole thing, it hurts to see how Glam repeats his father's words...
Is no one gonna mind this part? 5:31 he fell asleep while imagining something worse and he didn’t seem to have any much expression and fell asleep like if those bad thoughts were normal-
My guy, did you watch the episode?
I mean being treated like shit for a majority of your life and being punished like that. Im sure he resents his father maybe even hates him. I think the underlying thought is that he wants his father to understand the pain and mental anguish he goes through with how he treats him so those thoughts are a relief so that his father understands his suffering
ofcource, abused children find it really common to fantasise about hurting their abusers

You have to have a relationship with Christ to love Christ, it's not something you can force on someone

I wonder how it happened that everyone ignored the inappropriate music playing in Sebastian's room in the end of the episode
That is something to ponder - how did his dad not hear that? Would probably have immediately disowned him over it. Or shot him even. All I can figure is that it's a very large and well-soundproofed house.
@@quillmaurer6563 Because they all musicians. And their rooms should be fully sound-isolated for training propose.
I'm guessing it's 1. Very large and the rooms aren't close/next to each other and, how another commenter pointed out, probably somewhat soundproof

I freakin love this show! Can't say enough how amazing the English voicing is! Now, Gustav's voice doesn't sound the same, that's true. But it has the same character, the same vibes!
