- June 2023: Team V3Cars shares the fuel efficiency report of the Verna turbo-petrol DCT in this video after driving it in the city and on the highway. We not only give you a detailed analysis of the fuel efficiency that the Verna turbo offers, but also the variation in fuel efficiency in city and highway drives.
The Verna is available with a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. This engine is paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. The powertrain produces 160PS of maximum power, and with the dual-clutch automatic transmission, it is claimed to deliver 20.60kmpl of efficiency.

For City conditions it showed 11.9 kmpl and you got 9.6 that is not slightly less as you mentioned..... Its significantly less and MID cannot be relied upon. However, you should do this for at least 200 kms and of you are still getting more than 1 kmpl difference then MID is just unreliable for mileage calculations..
In my City, with a min of 150-200 kms run and tank to tank whether its city or highway I always get 0.* difference and not even 1 kmpl from what js displayed on the MID making the City's instrument cluster more precise

My Verna gives 6 to 8 in city and 15 to 17 in highways. Overall per month average with highways driving mostly I get around 13.
Wow 6 to 8 is very less, right? Is it worth it?
9-12 in City, 15-18 highway! And yes it's totally worth it ,it's mostly quicker than any vehicles on road‼️ perfomance and handling is bonkers @@sushant3196

9 kms in cities is really less! In my 2014 alto 800, I get 22 in the city, I hardly go to the petrol pumps! I also used your mileage calculator app on your website which is neat! Awesome work guys.

Spot on. That's what I am getting from Verna DCT with a mix of city and highway driving.
Dude for city driving it's good but for highway.... The body roll and soft suspension doesn't inspire confidence at all including the light steering wheel ..... AND MOST IMPORTANTLY SAFETY but I think u can drive safely between 80-90 kmph on highway.
@@mrperfect971 There are no sucj body roll and suspension issues in the Verna. All this is hypothetical nonsense. And, it is very safe.

Where do you fill fuel with such high density? In my area fuel density rarely touches 750.
From what I read a few weeks back, auto hold engages EPB, but has nothing to do with transmission mode. I can't be 100% sure though.
I have the 1.5turbo dct, i have driven it for almost 400km in city itself and it gave approx. 5.3 kmpl
My God!! Glad I got Seltos iMT even under heavy traffic I get 10-11kmpl and under ideal traffic conditions I get 14kmpl and even on highways I only get 15kmpl per my driving style.
With 5.3kmpl I would have sold it long back. That’s too unfair.

@@sasankdevarakonda2525 yes, but it also depends on city traffic conditions, like in my area in delhi in peak traffic it takes 4-6 mins to cover 1 km.

14.94L ₹ Skoda Slavia Ambition 1.5 MT is the best sedan to buy under 25 Lakhs.
Even if the SKODA engine isn't the most refined in the segment, it is the most tuned for driving pleasure.
I would rather buy a cheaper car, mod it to my taste & not worry about mileage once in my life.
My brother has Skoda Kushaq, but the product has quality issues. The air conditioning sucks, The power windows especially driver side has failures . There is rattling noise from the dashboard.
Now I understand your points regarding the dynamics but the truth is if a german company fails to get the bare minimum correct, I doubt its reliability in the long run. Even an Alto has a reliable AC.
@@yash101096 I think these issues are easily resolvable, it's under a comprehensive warranty for the first year, get this stuff changed from the company for a better experience! I personally think Kushaq is an established vehicle in the market & it won't have part issues down the line!

Meri verna 4S 1.6 crdi Aaj bhi city mein 15.5-16 aur highway per 22-23 kmpl Tak deti hai. Diesel rules petrol bhangar hai.

Turbo petrol engines prefer high octane fuel more than regular petrol as they reduce knocking and hence also should run more efficiently in theory, could you maybe do a test to show if the performance and efficiency improves with high octane fuel in these turbo engines...
Please do a mileage test of Slavia 1.0L or 1.5L.
in city if we use eco mode the fuel efficiency is way better than in normal mode

What if you load the car with 4 healthy persons incl driver and fully loaded boot ! There's no forking guarantee on FE on small turbo petrol engines.
Fuel efficiency will go down to some extent with full load even on Naturally aspirated engines too.
Stop being so fat that you reduce the fuel efficiency with your weight 😂
If you need efficiency, City Hybrid offers excellent economy with good performance, features and quality.
True I am a proud owner for 2023 city hybrid which is giving me 20 kmpl in city and 25 kms on highway
But the premium we pay for the hybrid can give an ROI only when you drive it more than 1,000 kms per week
True but 1.5 turbo in Verna has way better performance than city hybrid. Although city hybrid is a faster car than the normal city petrol .
@@arkaprabhamondal4441 Yes but it’s a 1s 0-100 difference for triple the efficiency benefit. I’ve seen 0-100 in 8.9s with a full battery.
@@dekarunabh Most ppl compare City Hybrid to normal City in terms of price but I think it needs to be compared to cars with similar performance like Virtus GT or Verna Turbo. City V Hybrid costs almost the same as those.

5:06 your understanding is wrong, if auto hold is on and car is in drive mode than there will be a load on transmission.
You need to put the car in P / N to reduce the load on transmission
Hi can you make similar video for Hyundai Alcazar 1.5 turbo DCT in comparison with Verna since both are having same engine......is the same engine gives better efficiency in Alcazar or less ?
Given that the Alcazar is likely heavier than the Verna because of its SUV design, the fuel efficiency may be less than the Verna.
@@theacechip ya but im yet to see someone confirming that with real life numbers ..some users say its as low as 5-6 kmpl in city and 9-10 on highway. Still i do not rely on the displayed one over tank to tank method. Lets wait for someone making that for everyones benefit.

good video. however you should've used the auto start stop feature. since it is enabled by default it would give the best fighting chance for fuel economy and city fuel efficiency number could've been a little higher. by the way it takes into account the interior cabin temperature as well, if it gets hot inside it'll restart the car.

Verna has better engine, relatively more reliable double clutch transmission, 5 star Global NCAP rating, heated and ventilated seated, higher quality plastic/soft touch materials, variable ambient lights, better sound system, better boot space, disc breaks for all wheels, ADAS level 2 and priced even less than virus + Slavia. If you can ignore or change the front bumper it straight away looks like a 2024 Hyundai Sonata. Also finally hyundai has much better service after sales compared to horror experiences and costing of VW & Skoda. Any logical person would rate Verna at the top. No doubt Virtus/Slavia DSG are more fun to drive, but I think it's a give or take for everything in life 😂
