Never apologize for having therapy with BTS and ARMY!! As we say, "You find BTS when you need BTS. " We are all bonded through our shared pain, loss, happiness, love, and much more with them. I just lost my mom, dad, and uncle in the last year and a half. I have no family now. Just BTS, ARMY, and reactions like yours. Please check out the explanation of this video. Much love!!

      I'm sorry for your loss!
I wish you, from the bottom of my heart, the strength to move forward because I know how difficult it is.
I also had a huge loss with the death of my husband, a true life partner for more than 22 years. That's why I became extremely disoriented and went into a depressive process.
However, today BTS is like therapy for me. And I am very grateful to God for putting these boys in my path at the worst moment of my life. For it was like the flame of a candle burning in the darkness.
For a long time I didn't feel like smiling and when I did it was only to please those around me. But when I see them my smile comes easily, without effort and almost without realizing it.
It may seem like an exaggeration, incomprehensible to many people, but these boys "touched" my heart in a subtle and profound way, leading me to develop a special connection with their messages.
To this day, I have extreme difficulty sleeping, even when I'm on medication. At first, I stayed awake for 3 whole days and nowadays I sleep listening to BTS songs.
Over time, we become convinced that we need to move on with our lives. It's still difficult, a daily challenge and only those who have been through something similar know, but I feel better every time I see them.
Know that we are on this journey together, in this “group therapy” with BTS and ARMY. And I want to record here my testimony of how I have found empathy and a true current of love in this process. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I’m sorry about your grandmother. My brother didn’t make it in time for my father’s passing. He lived quite far away and missed being there by a couple of hrs. Please watch an explanation video but not just any one. I appreciate all the people who have done explanations but some are MUCH better and more detailed than others. Please don’t pick because it has less minutes. The one by Italian Army is very good imo.

I am a 54 year old ARMY. I have found so much healing, peace, and joy through these 7 young men. I'm glad you've found them. My 22 year old daughter passed 6 months ago after a sudden illness. I was with her when she passed. My husband had just left 30 minutes before. I feel she waited for him to go to protect him. She knew I had promised to be with to the end. I believe your grandmother loved you so much and she wanted to protect you from those moments. I send you much love and comfort. No matter how much time passes, we still feel that loss. Thank you for your vulnerability.

You interpreted the song correctly. It is about longing fora loved one. But you will be surprised on the depth of thos video. Please look for the explanation video for Sping day as the others have suggested. It will break your heart.
My heart broke for you as well when you shared the story of your grandmother. I remember V - his grandmother died in the middle of the tour and he was really broken like you because he was not able to be by his grandmother's side. He borke down during the concert. The pain of losing someone you love does not really go away but it also means that love is alive. Virtual hugs.

Along this journey watching you react to BTS, we learn more and more about you Caio, you generously sharing your personal intimate moments and feelings. Your touching story of missing the chance to say a proper goodbye to your grandma who had raised you brings to mind the similar situation with V. A reality camera showed a young V inside a moving vehicle phoning his grandma (who had also raised him) as he departed that night for an overseas tour….. little knowing then that about 2 months later, she was to pass away. Only in hindsight, we realised that timeline. So raw the way V poured his heart out in a flood of tears during one concert. Thanks for the warmth and authenticity in your reaction. That’s quite special.

V was raised by his grandmother because both of his parents worked a lot. He lived with her for 14 years and she was like his own mother. According to his stories, she was very kind, caring and loving. And this can be seen in Taehyung, she raised him very well.
In September 2016, while the guys were in the Philippines, Taehyung received the news that she had passed away. We didn’t know anything about this for few months.. I then thought that V was a little different, at the interview and concert he was so detached, his thoughts were somewhere else. He spoke about this at a fan meeting (?) in November of that year. Many Armys cried.. and after that massive hate poured towards Taehyung, dead threats, bullying, they wrote terrible things about his grandmother..
2 years later he lost his grandfather. Then BTS was filming a reality show, Taehyung joined later because of the funeral... in one of the episodes he cried alone, then Jimin and Hobi came running to him.
I feel calm knowing that there are very good people next to him, they will always support him, support each other💜
I'm so sorry for your loss🫂
And I’m glad that you are not alone, your family is with you) and we Army are with you too💜

I thought of this immediately when he began sharing his story, too - I hope he reads your comment here, because it would be so good for him to know that Taehyung could really understand some of what he experienced regarding the loss of his grandmother. This is one of the reasons I feel BTS's music is so loved - because it brings to mind our own personal experiences and helps us to walk through them with someone holding our hand so we aren't alone in them anymore. 💜

I'm so sorry about your Grandmother. I didn't get to say goodbye to my granny either. She was in & out of the hospital so many times during her last years & we lived 11 hours away, so we couldn't go every time. The hospital called me & said she was asking for me & that I should come, so I quickly packed a suitcase & started driving. But I didn't even make it out of my city, before they called & said she had passed. And then I cried all the way there to help my grandfather. Much love to you & your family. 💜

Hi, I am back. Good reaction, ty. I love this song. It's so beautiful. I did not cry when I heard the song or saw the video for the 1st time. It did touch my heart though. One of my fav's for sure.
Aww, hugs tight. She knows u love her. SHE KNOWS! U can talk to her in ur dreams. She might have not known the day u left. But she might have known the next day. Who really knows. It's not important. What is important is that u loved her and she u. I am glad u liked this one. Happy u understood part of the msg. The first time I heard the song was in Dear Class Of 2020. If you have not watched pls do. It's awesome. I loved this performance a lot. Spring Day for me is a sad hopeful song. I get melancholy feels from it. I hope u watch BTS Spring Day MV EXPLAINED by bulletproof vibes. It's so good. There are a few explanation videos. Some have more detail than the others. This song is a Queen because it's on the charts so many years. Stores play it in Korea because ppl want to remember and never forget. BTS made this one to help ppl remember. I think that's just amazing! After the guys all enlisted recently USA army charted the song to #1 for the 1st time ever in 6 yrs. Cool, right. Yes, Yet to Come has echoes of Spring Day and other MVs. The song is for army so only army will truly get the meaning. This is why many cry watching that MV. The carousel says YOU NEVER WALK ALONE. This is an album name it is also their msg to army from long ago. stay safe. -2019 ARMY NY USA 💜
    @psychokitty71 said on 8/3/23
The song itself is not about Spring Day, but about loss and grief. The video, however is about the Sewol ferry tragedy. It was only confirmed by BTS in late 2020 in an interview. There is another explanation, by Italian ARMY that is even more heartbreaking. Italian ARMY's explanation goes more into the actual tragedy and includes footage from the tragedy, from the parents begging someone to save their children and even a clip from inside the sinking ship, where a man can be heard making an announcement that strongly urges the passengers on the ferry to stay put. The video also goes into the cause of the tragedy and it's aftermath. If you guys are strong enough to watch something like that, I highly recommend it, but it's okay if you aren't able to. That explanation video is so detailed and heart wrenching that there are a number of people who can't watch the whole thing. There are also even more details in the MV that indicate that it represents the Sewol ferry sinking than are pointed out in this video. The boys even performed Spring Day on an award show one time, and the stage was made to look as if it was on the bottom of the sea.

💜🙏Thank you for sharing your heartfelt reaction to Spring Day...... I want to share with you a comment to another reactor from a survivor of the Sewol disaster.. I would like you to hear from him just how BTS has healed him through this song and the messages they have: His name is Chilo Abellon - and this is his public comment in full - unedited - from 2 years ago..........
"I remembered when they rescuing us its so tragic when you see your classmates/friends stuck asking and hearing them scream for help, the screaming and voices of people asking for help while the ships is sinking the scream slowly vanished. When you can’t help them because the water got deeper and deeper while they rescue us slowly. The time that i got rescued only 3 of us survived, my two classmates and i in our and my other classmates stuck in the ships hoping they’re still alive but when the time i heard the news that they’re all gone. It slowly sinking in that all my friends and the other class are gone and will never comeback. I feel guilty when I survived, I’m thinking am i lucky? Or is it not right that i was alive and not them? Do i deserve to live?.
Feeling depressed, having suicidal thoughts, every night you can’t sleep because i keep hearing those scream a scream people needing a help but you can’t because your weak and got broken bones. Everything time I struggled to see what life is all about, thinking what if all of my friends survived and they with me survived. It would be dream to see that happening. I struggled to make a good life that i can be proud of because of that incident happened but when i found out about BTS my life changed me because of their music they changed my life the way that i can be proud of and I started loving myself by little by little and finally the day I realize life is so short and the incident happened 7 years ago impacted my life to be a better person and all of our hardships are just a big task for us to make them done and the outcome will be 100 times better the incident happened 7 years ago thought me so many things.
The biggest one is don’t forget they might be gone but don’t forget them put them on your heart and like life all of your hardship and your mistakes will not lose or fail you it’s always a win win situation because we always learn from them. Spring day is my number 1 fav song of BTS because I reminisce the things happened 7 years ago while watching the mv and it always help me to keep going in life and do not give up on things that i want to achieve
    - My name is Chilo one of the survivors of the sewol ferry incident."
I truly hope he does not mind me passing on his public comment - but this best shows the power of BTS message.
The worst thing about the disaster - the captain and crew fled the ship the morning 9.35 - the ferry did not sink until the night - they left the warning to "not move and stay still" playing on a loop through the ship. Only the children that disobeyed the warning survived. The others drowned as they were so ingrained to listen to authority. The civilian boats that attempted to rescue people were stopped by the coast guard as people would discover the boat was illegally overloaded.
Parents on the shore were receiving desperate calls and texts from their children begging for help. And the coastguard did nothing. The only rescue the coastguard made that day was the captain and crew... The people that got rescued were rescued by fishing vessels that got there first before they were stopped...3 years the ferry lay at the bottom as the Govt would not raise it for fear of discovering the truth.... They found video footage taken on mobile phones that were recovered of children wishing their families goodbye. One of the civilian rescue divers later committed suicide after having to recover so many children's bodies knowing that he could have saved them but was forcibly stopped.
As a parent I could not comprehend having to live through such a thing. Horrific that your own government would perpetrate and then cover up such a incident... jailing dissenters for protesting. It was proven that there were high officials with financial interests in the ferry. The president colluded with them to bury the truth and hamper investigations... 10000 people in the public eye (reporters, artists, etc) put on a Govt blacklist for speaking about it.
BTS went and paid respects to the parents of the victims in 2014 when the tragedy occured. No Cameras - No fan fair - just doing what was right...They also donated approx $100,000 (that year they only earnt $300,000 - they gave 1/3 of their earnings) to help the parents in their fight for justice.... We only found out about the donation years later as one of the parents was sick of all the hatred BTS was always getting and wanted others to know just how decent they are.
The MV, The album cover, The choreography all relate back to the Sewol. But The song is about missing anyone you love and are separated from. They have since been singing Spring Day during the pandemic as the world is now longing for a spring day. Spring Day has never left the music charts, to this day it is still in the top 100 charts.... almost 7 years later and this song still speaks to people everywhere.
I highly recommend ItalianARMY explanation video "What you still don't know about BTS Spring Day MV" but it is very hard to watch. Footage of the parents begging the coast guard to save their children shattered me.... She actually travelled to South Korea to speak with the parents and compile the video.
Sorry this is so long - but I really wanted to pass his comment and information to you relating to your Spring Day Explained video.... with posting your reaction you have helped keep the memory of Sewol alive and maybe others who do not know of it will learn of the tragedy. Thank you for sharing your journey, and helping to spread BTS message.. You are a really nice couple. Sending greetings and love from Australia... BORAHAE💜 #WeNeverWalkAlone

Spring Day celebrated its 7 years anniversary this year. Since its release Spring Day has never left the Korean Melon Music charts. This song is referred to as queen' because of its legendary status .
In last December , when RM , Jimin , V and Jk went in to the military after spending 10 years with ARMY , Spring Day topped the itunes Charts as number 1 in 81 countries and all major markets worldwide, surpassing the all-time number 1 song at Christmas.
This is about social injustices, and specially it is about the Sewoul tragedy, which killed more than 300 people. Most of them were high school students who were Knowing that they were going to die . So they even said goodbye to their parents and loved ones before die .
As always I love your reaction so much 💜️💜️💜️ .

Ah yes, "the Queen song". This is possibly thee most important song in their entire discography. You definitely need *the explanation video from Italian ARMY (linked below)* for this one to understand how much BTS are willing to risk politically to get an important point across, even if you choose to do so off camera. As a dad it will no doubt destroy you but it will also tell you exactly why BTS are geniuses with a conscience.
Also, so truly sorry about your grandma but you had no way of knowing. In fact something similar happened to me with my grandpa when I went on my second date with my later-to-be-husband. I can't imagine having it happen with someone so close as your grandma though and I'm so sorry. But really, you had no way of knowing. 💜

Since many have recommended the explanation video, before you watch it I wanted to let you know that the song seems to have a different meaning from the music video. It is a very personal song for RM and SUGA (the main songwriters) about lost friendships. SUGA has actually written other songs about his particular lost friendship eg dear my friend. As others have mentioned the MV is very clearly referencing the Sewol Ferry disaster.

Hi, me again.😅 Thanks for this reaction!
I think I'm going to leave a really long comment this time, so I'll apologize first.😅
Spring Day is the queen of BTS songs and has never been out of the Korean music chart for seven years since its release. It's a song that means a lot to ARMY.
Spring Day is a song about all kinds of loss like old friends, but the music video contains many metaphors of South Korea's Ferry Sewol tragedy.
Here are the Spring Day explained videos. These will help you understand Spring Day. :)

The Sewol sinking happened in April 16, 2014. I was a high school teacher in California when this happened. My students were the same age as the students on the field trip. I followed this story. (I did not discover BTS until 2020). "Spring Day" came out in February 2017, in the midst of protests and government crackdowns, including the impeachment proceedings against the president of Korea. Artist, actors, public figures, etcetera who spoke out for the victims' families and the survivors were attacked in the media, reputations smirched, lost their jobs, some wound up in jail. It was illegal to speak against the government. After the impeachment of President Park and during her trial, her orders to ruin the lives of those who publicly supported the families were confirmed.
    @lw4067 said on 5/14/24
Hi there, The song itself wasn't written about the ferry disaster, but the MV obviously is related. In fact, Jin confirmed a few years later in an interview that the MV was about a sad event. You didn't notice that the merry-go-round has the word "You'll never walk alone" on it. As I'm sure you know being from the UK, same as me, this is the song for Liverpool Football Club. Do you remember the Hillsborough disaster in 1989 where about 90 people including children sadly lost their lives in a crowd crush? Hillsborough families met with relatives of the victims of the Sewol Ferry Disaster to show their support and to share their knowledge and expertise in seeking out the truth of what happened. If you watch the Italian Army explanation or do your own research and see some of the videos taken by the students please have plenty of tissues handy because it is heart breaking.

Accordingly, around 70%% of the Lyrics is written by RM. And, Suga contributed in the music production. Other resident lyricist of BTS contributed too. Note that this Song was released in 2017 and this song elevated them to Billboard Hot 100 and charted in the Billboards platforms.

The line from Yoongi 'I erase you, because it hurts less than to blame you ' is (I think) a reference to his best friend that started to take drugs (and selling drugs to finance his addiction,if I remember well?) ,got arrested and put in jail.
It took Yoongi hours to get there by bus and in the end his friend didn't even wanted to see him anymore, even though he made this long trip.

They were running to stop that fateful storyline. The on the ground running Jungkook and the others were too late. The Jungkook on the train saw himself and the others, but he thought it's just dream (it was not). They were too late to stop those versions of themselves from their own sad fates. I probably am missing a LOT in this explanation. Back then some of the songs, music videos, and other content were telling a complex story. ARMYS will help you make sense of it. I'm only ARMY since late 2016, but I'm in my 40's and sometimes forget some connections in the storyline. Thank you Caio for always being GENUINELY yourself.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Don't apologize about talking about it - it was very touching and everyone can relate to that situation, unfortunately. Lots of love 💜
Also, the song is about friendships that don't last or become strained with time. If I remember correctly, RM write the song but it's about RM and SUGA's experiences with good friendships that are no more. Because of the path they chose and because of them changing (Dear My Friend from SUGA is a more precise example)
The MV is allegedly linked to a tragedy that happened in Korea. The whole situation was a mess. I said "allegedly" because it was never confirmed by either the members or BigHit. Although lots of Koreans hold it dear in their hearts because of the tragedy (and because the song is beautiful of course). It was a risky move - and might still be, idk - to openly talk about what happened. So it might be why they never confirmed it even though there are obvious links to it (like the yellow ribbons)

You need yhe explaination of yhe video. Every detail is symbolic with deep meaning. The video was created after the SEWOL FERRY disaster one of the most shameful cases of corruption znd neglect that ended in the incomprehensible death of over 300 people most school age going on the annual class trip.

I love this song but it makes me cry. I use it for therapy too, like most BTS content.
You are right to look for symbolism in the video. RM wrote the song thinking about a friend he missed but it is open for personal interpretation. With the loss of my Mum and Dad i also interpret it about the loss of a person who passed away.
The video, hiwever, has many subtle references to the Sewol ferry tragedy in 2014 where a ferry overturned and around 300 people died, mostly school children on a field trip. I thoroughly recommend watching the explanation by Italian Army as it highlights those references and explains why the tradegy occurred and why BTS had to be subtle. Itvis heartbreaking to watch as there is real footage from the tradegy but it helps to understand the circumstances and appreciation for the group and Big Hit.

I really don't care much for the Italian army explanation video because its kinda hard to follow. I recommend you do a youtube search for the Sewol Ferry Tragedy. Better yet, do both. Italian army explains the relationship between the song and the tragedy, but the actual video of the tragedy explains all the horrible things the government and coast did. Both are worth watching! Hanging shoes from a tree is done in remembrance of someone who died tragically.

I grew up with my grandmother as well
She was on her deathbed for months/weeks
eventually I told my mother that I wanted to stay home, instead of going to the hospice
I loved spending time alone and any time spend with my mother was stressful, including the long drive with public transportation
I stayed home.. Sort of knowing that it will be my last time for a long time getting to stay home alone
I chose that over saying my grandmother goodbye
As I got older I realized that it was also that I did not want to pressure of one last talk ect.. Also fully knowing that my mother would be present the entire time.. I wanted to remember my grandmother the way I had met her last time.. when she still had some color and could smile a bit and when my mother was occupied with arranging some items and I had a quiet moment with my grandmother.. But wasn't that very selfish? I had no phone to text my grandmother what I was feeling and I couldn't explain that to my mother..
The older I get the more I feel guilty for not having been there
It sounds harsh but my grandmother loved me way more than she loved my mother and I preferred her over my mother, too
I think that she must have felt betrayed and disappointed that I didn't visit her one last time.. Maybe she thought that my mother prevented me from going.. I just don't know and it's really sad.
It was definitely easier for me that way (back then) and you can't really blame a 6/7 year old kid for being overwhelmed with the death of close family member but it's weighs on me sometimes
    Just thought I'd share

When you were teling your story I almost cried cuz my grandfather passed away just last year and it reminded me of that. This song is really very emotional and also one of my favourite songs ever. The lyrics at the end give me hope and it feels like a hug. The mv has a lot of references as you know with bts. IT's from their album called "You never walk alone" and Bts made this song after the sewol ferry tragedy. There's a video explaining it very well and maybe you can check it out I'll link it at the end. But basically there was a ferry boat which had a lot of school children which drowned and a lot of people and children died in it but the government tried to hide it. A lot of children lost their friends. Also they also mention the snowpiercer which is a movie, there are also references to the story of the matchstick girl. Also the Omelas is a reference to a short story "The one's who walked away from Omelas" Here's the link to the explanation video I think it explains everything well better than me writing a huge comment lol ruclips.net/video/Tye1ONFeKis/видео.htmlsi=oJCkfN-sbWFX6_ZW

    Здравствуй, Caio!

When I first learned about the theories about what this MV means, it made it hard for me to listen to this song. It only gave me sad feelings. But then in 2020 during the pandemic, BTS performed this song a few times, and I started to think of it in a different way. It is a sad song about loss, yes, but there's also hope in it, that the winter will be over soon and spring will come again. It was so fitting for those times, and by performing it, BTS were saying they missed their fans, but that eventually things will get better and we'll see each other again. That's how I took it, anyway. Now I find it to be a really beautiful and hopeful song, especially since things really did get better and BTS were able to perform live for their fans again. Thank you for your reaction!

This is a song that has 100 different feelings, emotions, and meanings all in 1 song and video. For some this song is uplifting and empowering of getting past the winter into the warmth of spring, for others it is lost and sorrow. It also has ties to the BU (Bangtan Universe) that was a part of the albums storylines that was being released. But one of the most hurtful and saddest loss of life of the Sewol Ferry happened at this time and this song has been a song of both mourning and comfort for so many at such an awful and difficult time.
