That song is precious because it has so much connotation to listeners individually and to South Koreans specifically due to its tie to a Sewol ferry accident which was a national tragedy.. I am so impressed that you have felt it as a mourning song right away. It was meant to comfort the nation after a nationwide tragedy, which we realized when we saw the video. The song is so very delicate, and that has always been what I love about it
BTS has an almost uncanny ability to grab hold of our innermost feelings and helps us process them, not avoid them. I honestly have never experienced an artist quite like them. For me, these days I hear the hope in this song more than the loss. But whatever anyone hears, BTS' music can be there with you. Thank you for the reaction.❤
Thank you for your honest and open reactions. The video is full of hidden references about the Sewol tragedy. Many artist and musicians in Korea were blacklisted for speaking out on the government corruption and poor handling of the situation. While the song wasn't written for the tragedy, it is believed that the video is directly related and the song fits it perfectly. I also recommend watching the explanation video but only when you are feeling a bit stronger as learning about the details is even more heart wrenching. 💜💜💜
I think it's important to recognize the political atmosphere at the time this song came out: the tragedy happened three years ago and the president had already been impeached and was heading out of office, and South Korea was celebrating. There was no "blacklisting" happening by the time the MV came out. Before, yes, hence why BTS didn't publicly donate to the cause, only privately. But there wasn't much risk releasing this video, like many ARMYs try to say.

Borahae
I think the amazing thing about this song is that they manage to capture all the stages of grief in one song. And when you read the lyrics by themselves, it reads like a beautiful poem. On a lighter note, I feel like you guys have really gone through the BTS emotional wringer. Maybe your next reaction can be something a little bit happier? Mikrokosmos is an interesting one. Or maybe Boyz With Fun which is just pure crazy fun.
This song has been released for over 6 years, nothing about it was intentionally sung too sad, with soft, slow sad emotions or too many instruments to make it that. But just enough honesty, great lyrics to really relate to others and honesty of vulnerability and hope. This is why this song is still to this day, topping Korean charts since its first debut. Like "RM" said, if you don't like our songs, listen to Spring Day. You'll know... it's one of their master pieces. Alot of it people believe this was dedicated towards the Korean Seweol tragedy... sooo sad. May all those souls RIP and people who find this song regardless of what we all think is behind the song, can find some comfort with this song...💜♥️ I hope after this reaction, you can dive deeper to the song and what it supposedly was dedicated intentionally for. Hopefully then you can probably have a better understanding and react to this a second time so you can get out what we all do with this beautiful song!!
If you need a cheerful BTS song, I just watched and can heartily recommend a live stage performance of So What. There are several and it's always great. Watching them have so much fun with army is good for the soul. Skipping while rapping 😂 one show has a water fight... I really enjoy your thoughtful conversations, and that's not what that song is about. I'm not even doing for a reaction. I just think it would make you smile 😂
This song can be interpreted how you want it to be and your interpretations are spot on in my opinion. Now, BTS has never and probably can never say this, but the song is about a ferry tragedy in S. Korea where a lot of young people died and there was a lot of controversy over that incident. There is an explanation video by an Italian fan/ARMY that explains a lot of the props and what they mean relative to the ferry incident. It's pretty incredible and worth a watch even if you don't react to it. That said, during the pandemic, BTS sang this "live" in a Tiny Desk Home Concert and RM's introduction to it basically was using the song to represent the pandemic and the Spring Day being the end of it. BTS were missing the times they could go on tour and do live concerts (since one of theirs got postponed and then cancelled). Obviously no one knew that pandemic would last so, so long! Anyway, it just goes to show that there is no wrong interpretation the way they wrote the lyrics. It's a sad but beautiful song. Thank you for the reaction.
Another highly emotional BTS song is Dead Leaves best seen live with English lyrics. I also find My Dear Friend which is only available in lyric video format very emotional. Both tracks are tear jerking, highly relatable and beautifully composed by Suga aka Agust D.
If you really want to dive deeper into the group as a whole may I really request 2 videos. BTS the Bangtan 7 by Taylor and The Most Beautiful Life Goes On by Rice Squad. I am 69 years old who discovered these extremely talented young men in October of 2015 with their vide Dope. I have heard LOTS of music in my 69 years, but I never experienced the feeling I get when I started watching more things about them. To say that they are inspiring is such an understatement. They are so very talented, so very humble and people who set a really high standard of how to be really good people that anyone who watches them can really learn how to be a good person.
I’m sure that others have told you that Spring Day can not truly be appreciated by westerners without the help of one or both of the explanation videos. The first one by Italian ARMY is longer and well, in Italian with English subtitles, but goes into more depth behind the events that helped inspire the song of which there are hidden references to throughout the music video. It also talks about the political fall out of those evens and the artists including BTS that helped bring that about. The other video is shorter, in English, briefly explains the tragedy but focuses more on the to art, literature, and film that are in the video and how those relate to the unfortunate incident that inspired the music video. Leading to the conclusion that the music video, if not the song itself is a criticism of the then political corruption in South Korea.
The song was never about the tragedy. It was about missing people gone from out lives through different circumstances. The video is another thing. That was about the tragedy and nuanced on with many other issues facing Korean society. Am I Wrong is their most controversial song. In the lyrics and Dance, it was directly against the administration at the time.
Ustedes son realmente maravillosos! Entienden perfectamente el propósito de las canciones, la mayoría piensa que sus canciones se tratan sobre relaciones sentimentales pero en general es sobre lss relaciones humanas y sobre amor propio.

For me, I heard this song a little after V told us his Grand Mother passed, and all though I know what motivated the writing of this song, I always think RM wrote it to comfort him. I hope you react to the different theory or explanation video which is so much deeper than the surface. On a happier note, please check out the behind the scenes, it will make you smile.
Thanks for reacting to Spring Day. I really enjoyed your commentaries in every single reaction to BTS videos so far. Keep up the good work! Please watch the Spring Day explanation video by Italian ARMY because there are lots of hidden meanings in the MV that should not be ignored.
Spring Day is the purest expression of grief I've ever heard. Even if you don't know anything else about it - or about the video - it's just the essence of loss. That desperate yearning for someone who has gone too far to follow. If you've lost anyone, you recognize yourself in this song - just like you did. Thank you for letting us see that. 💜 This isn't my favorite BTS song because it's something bigger than that. It's special, in a category of its own. The song is that all by itself, but the video - and its context - make it something that is so incredibly beloved. Oh - and at the start of the video, V is listening for a train that will never come - putting your ear to the track is how you know a train is coming. The alternate interpretation is possibly also intended, but this is a familiar thing for some of us who grew up near tracks. It adds a layer for me.
I have never interpreted the beginning with Tae as so many have. I thought it was common knowledge that you felt the rails for vibration to tell if a train was coming, but maybe not. I see so few people mention this, though I think Italian Army does in their explanation video. The song and the mv are about missing someone dear to you. He is waiting.
I sometimes feel like this song is a rite of passage for new ARMYs. We don't suggest it right away. We build trust with new ARMYs and reactors, by suggesting a variety of songs. And we want to know that we can trust the reactor will be authentic, because this song means so much to us. When we feel you are ready, we recommend it, we will watch it with you, we will cry with you, we will share our stories with you. And we will tell you that there is even more to the MV. I see there are already comments about watching at least one of the explanation videos. If you choose the Italian ARMY explanation, may I suggest turning down the sound. It is in Italian, and she is speaking at a very fast pace. I like this explanation video because she includes details of the Sewol ferry and the aftermath, including why Spring Day had such an impact when the tragedy happened three years before. BTW, V putting his head to the track, that was how we used to listen to see if a train was approaching. We could hear it in the railing long before we could hear it in the air. Good piece of knowledge if you have to cross a train bridge across a river or trestle across a canyon.
I definitely agree that watching the explanation video is important as this mv refers a tradegy that happened in 2014 where over 300 people drowned in a ferry accident. About 250 of the casualties were middle school and high school kids, their teachers and general population. The explanation video by an Italian army goes deeper into the corruption of the government because of greed. The corruption goes all the way to the top of the government, the president.
three years ago spring day was the song that helped me a lot to experience greif. the unfortunate happened a year before that and i fell into an extremely bad place that was getting in the way of my daily life and future. yet before i met bts i never realized that i was avoiding facing my own emotions all that year and that it was the main reason why i was struggling so much with accepting what happened and finding a way to live on. it took me three months of crying every time i heard spring day to finally process the pain and make peace with it. i was still new to bts, i didn't have special emotional connection with them personally, didn't know a lot of their music yet, it was the very start of my journey with them, but spring day still was able to help me. even though the artist was a stranger to me, they gave me their hand. and getting deeper into their music and albums you find so many delicate expressions of life and you feel understood and supported and safe. the feeling of home
If you could watch the explanation of the song, you dont only need a tissue but a towel to wipe off your tears. This song always makes me cry. I never understand why it always makes my heart ache until after I read the English translation. So this is a really masterpiece. You dont need to know the lyrics, because it will touch your soul.
Guh right at the beginning, I'm on the verge of tears with you being on the verge of tears. The song always makes me miss my dad, who passed a couole if years ago. The video, man the easter eggs in there is a masterpiece. Just to hide their message from the govt at the time. If you check out Italian Army explanation of the video, be prepared to. Youll get angry on behalf of so many people.
Thank you for sharing your experience; losing loved one is a difficult ordeal -- i appreciate that you both were able to capture the emotions conveyed through the lyrics, the best we can all hope for when experiencing a loss is to eventually find peace; there is an explanation for this video that will provide a clearer perspective behind the creation of the video and the images presented-- if u are both up for it, it is very emotional; if u do want to react to the explanation video, i highly recommend the one by the Italian Army, it has actual footages of the event that took place ---- this song is often referred to as the "queen", as it has not left the Korea charts since its release in 2017 - 💜💜💜
I always wonder why people think V putting his head to the track means a bad thing. It never entered my mind when I saw that scene. To me I always thought he put his ear to the track, listening for vibrations to tell if a train was coming. You know like the Indians did in the old black & white cowboy movies so they could hear the vibrations? It’s because steel carries sound better than air. It’s a sad scene because V is waiting and listening for it but the train (boat) did not make it to the station. 😢🕊️
Please watch the explanation by Italian Army and know the real reason why BTS did this song you will be blown away. I always tear up whenever i see or hear Spring Day. Thanks guys for reacting to BTS.
I would strongly recommend the explanation video done by Italian Army, but it is a very heavy video and you may not be up for it. Also dont feel you need to film a reaction to it. I just think it is a very good video for better understanding this music video and what it means to the Korean people.

I hope you take time to only watch the explanation videos people are mentioning once you are ready to. And many have said, the song mostly is what you mentioned- missing a friend that is gone, that you can't see. The video is thought to represent a tragedy. The song was actually even quoted when RM(Namjoon) was recently appointed as an honorary ambassador of the Korean Ministry of National Defense’s Agency for KIA Recovery & Identification. This ministry works to recover the remains of Korean War soldiers and return them to their families.

I lost my best friend to cancer last year and this song rips thru me😢😢😢😢 especially when they sing about "youre my best best" it just hurts double.
I appreciate your honest and sincere reaction and yes im in tears. Please do take the advices of Army to watch the explanation (a few Army below has posted the link below) of the song and you will probably need more tissues. Borahae 💜💜💜💜💜💜
The explanation video is a must to fully comprehend this mv
That's Why We Love BTS! Yea, I'm crying! 🤦🏽🥺😢🤧💜✌🏽🙏🏽
Your empathy and humanity are what draw us to you. Thank you for sharing your vulnerability. 😪💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🫰🏻
The explanation videos are worth watching but you will be wrecked.
Borahae
my suggestion for a feel good song I think you might enjoy music wise is „so what“ by BTS in a live performance
I cry every time I watch Spring Day💜🙏🫠
I think the amazing thing about this song is that they manage to capture all the stages of grief in one song. And when you read the lyrics by themselves, it reads like a beautiful poem.
On a lighter note, I feel like you guys have really gone through the BTS emotional wringer. Maybe your next reaction can be something a little bit happier? Mikrokosmos is an interesting one. Or maybe Boyz With Fun which is just pure crazy fun.
you guys should watch the explanation of spring day
I am so sorry for your losses. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings with us. 💜
💐🙏😞 FOR ALL THOSE INNOCENT CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES 💜
This song has been released for over 6 years, nothing about it was intentionally sung too sad, with soft, slow sad emotions or too many instruments to make it that. But just enough honesty, great lyrics to really relate to others and honesty of vulnerability and hope. This is why this song is still to this day, topping Korean charts since its first debut. Like "RM" said, if you don't like our songs, listen to Spring Day. You'll know... it's one of their master pieces. Alot of it people believe this was dedicated towards the Korean Seweol tragedy... sooo sad. May all those souls RIP and people who find this song regardless of what we all think is behind the song, can find some comfort with this song...💜♥️
I hope after this reaction, you can dive deeper to the song and what it supposedly was dedicated intentionally for. Hopefully then you can probably have a better understanding and react to this a second time so you can get out what we all do with this beautiful song!!
The truth untold is also a great song
oh lord, correlating spring day and one more light is a sure way to make me cry
If you need a cheerful BTS song, I just watched and can heartily recommend a live stage performance of So What. There are several and it's always great. Watching them have so much fun with army is good for the soul. Skipping while rapping 😂 one show has a water fight...
I really enjoy your thoughtful conversations, and that's not what that song is about. I'm not even doing for a reaction. I just think it would make you smile 😂
My favorite song ever
On the first watch, it might seem like a simple song but if you watch the explain video, you will understand nothing is simple about this mv.
Thanks guys, appreciate your reactions.
Oh it destroyed me to see you two cry 😢
This song and Bts Film Out make me cry every time as they are both about loss
It really tugs at my heart.
Others may suggest the Italian ARMY explained video. This is my favorite:

Wonderful reaction. Your intuition and interpretation was dead on. Your emotional maturity is so impressive and expressive. Never change. Never hold back. 💜💔💜
It’s indeed timless queen never heard a song that could capture grief in such true and beautiful way like this. Thank You for this reaction i was crying with You feeling these emotion with my whole heart💜Borahae
Dynamite made me an army
Spring day has the special place in my heart
Magic shop is my healing song
Not today is my motivation song
Honestly I love all BTS songs. I love our boys so much and all army out there 💜
You just make me cry with you😢 A big hug from Army.
Singularity and it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas by V and first love by Suga please! I subscribed))
This isn't my favorite BTS song because it's something bigger than that.
Keep an eye out for the Spring Day tree which shows up in later content - as a sign of better days ahead. 💜
i saw u crying and i started crying myself, its a beautiful song with a beautiful message, i love u guys
He is waiting.
if you want to try something more silly... you can always watch Super Tuna :)
Thank you both 💜
If you could watch the explanation of the song, you dont only need a tissue but a towel to wipe off your tears. This song always makes me cry. I never understand why it always makes my heart ache until after I read the English translation. So this is a really masterpiece. You dont need to know the lyrics, because it will touch your soul.
Hello! Greetings from Argentina. I loved his reactions. Please react to "blue and grey" by BTS 💜💜
When you are feeling strong enough, watch the explanation video. It’s so powerful 💜
Thank you for reaction 💜, same , it's a masterpiece , evertime i hear it i couldn't hold my tears
It's sad but so beautiful
YOU HAVE TO WATCH THE EXPLANATION VIDEO
Seeing ppl react to this always emote tears…in all of us
yes this really so emotional song and i love it. thank you for ur reaction
Everytime i tell yeah. I can not control my emotions. 😢
Spring Day is such an important song! You should watch the explanation video!
i love how honest are yours reactions, please continue 💜
I didnt expect to get emotional watching this. My tears.
Thank you for sharing your experience; losing loved one is a difficult ordeal -- i appreciate that you both were able to capture the emotions conveyed through the lyrics, the best we can all hope for when experiencing a loss is to eventually find peace; there is an explanation for this video that will provide a clearer perspective behind the creation of the video and the images presented-- if u are both up for it, it is very emotional; if u do want to react to the explanation video, i highly recommend the one by the Italian Army, it has actual footages of the event that took place ---- this song is often referred to as the "queen", as it has not left the Korea charts since its release in 2017 - 💜💜💜
Even if you don't watch it on RUclips, please watch the explanation video. It's a sad one, though. Makes me cry every time I watch it.
Thanks for the reaction ,guys ❤️🩹🫂
I just think it is a very good video for better understanding this music video and what it means to the Korean people.
vouch vouch
I truly appreciate your reactions as they are heartfelt and open. May you find peace and hope in music, as I do, every day. Borahae from Portugal.
I believe you know the origin of this song. Peace to all those who lost their lives in the ferry accident and to their families.
Big hug guys 💜
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful, heartfelt reaction!! Take care of yourselves in the harsh weather💜💜
J’ai pas de mot 😭 juste 🫂💜
I always cried so hard whenever i heard this song. This song just gives me the feels when i just let out all of my pain. I really love your reaction guys.💜💜💜😭😭
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🥺
If you get a chance, checkout the explanation video. It breaks down the song lyrics and video symbolism. There’s so much in here.
Love you guys💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Bless you for reacting to our Queen with such genuine heart. Thank you for being so respectful to the deep meaning of this song.
Thank you.
It made me cry once again
Hope you watch the explanation video…..but not sure if you’ll survive it.
Loved the bed/relationship analogy. (Newly divorced so yeah, that one hit really close to home. 😅)
Hope you’re doing well 💜💜💜
@@ayoidek6571 Thanks, I am. It did hurt to go through though even if it was my own choice. It's actually one of the things Epiphany inspired me to finally do but it was honestly long overdue. I truly appreciate the concern.
💜 Borahae 💜
