These 2 were amazing players and did so much for the sport. What they accomplished with the technology they had is amazing.

I remember when I was a kid in the early 00s, Golf Channel would play episodes at like 6:30 in the morning. I would wake up for school earlier so that I could chill and watch this while swinging my little toy plastic clubs hahah

Sam knocks it to 4 feet and makes the birdie. Jack gets up and down from the trap for par. They were both amazing.

They were most definitely....... both legends of the game.

Remarkable picture quality for 1963. I've seen World Series footage from 1978 which were much poorer quality.

Pure golf. Talent unsurpassed by modern players. Imagine these guys with the equipment of today.

    • @SXBrosGolf

100% exactly my thoughts as well. Not sure if many current pros would manage the numbers they do with the equipment these guys used in their time.

@@SXBrosGolf they were pure strikers. Had to be with those blades. Also talk about the tech advantages of a. proV1 over those soft balata balls. It’s astounding they could score as well as they did.

@jamesnichols7693 agreed.... they were no doubt amazing.
Byron Nelson, Ben Hogan, Sam Snead, Bobby Locke, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Pryer
      Just to name a few

I'd rather the guys today play with the old equipment - constant tech advance has made pro golf boring.

@poocrayon4588 It would be interesting to see a tournament where only old equipment is allowed.

Looked better back then - nowdays there's a sameness about the courses. Back then you had some rougher courses that were still high class and some manicured ones like Augusta - now they're all the same.

Snead was the greatest iron player there ever was, but he was mediocre with the putter. Nicklaus was probably the best putter of all of the big name golfers. It gave him a huge advantage.
