@@jeniebear It's sad that we live in a society now where we have to worry about people hating on us for having a different opinion. 22 is quite young, but I was a mom at 24 and I didn't feel like I was too young at the time. My son is 23 and his fiance is 21 and they just had a baby. They absolutely do have childish qualities about them still, but my future daughter in law is such a wonderful mother! I think maybe it just depends on the person. I have a 25 year old niece that I cannot see having a baby right now, or any time soon. I would never in a million years try to make you feel bad for thinking differently than me. Can you imagine how boring life would be if we all thought exactly the same??
I just think that because some people might not be financially ready or mentally ready to have a child at that age especially if you want to do something like be a doctor, lawyer, etc. It takes years of school and having a child might be in the way of it.

One time my mom left me with my then six month old baby sister because it was cold out and she had to take our other sister to the orthodontist anyway I was still 13 and my mom left her with me but my sister started crying uncontrollably and she wouldn’t stop. I got overwhelmed after trying everything to get her to stop (feeding, checking diaper, rocking etc,.) I called family that lived a few blocks away but they were all doing something luckily the aunt that lived across the hallway came eventually and held her. (I didn’t call her first because I didn’t have her number and I didn’t know if she was still at work or not

My mom had me at 22 in September and turned 23 in November. I’ve been told that both of my parents are young. I’m 12 and my dad is 39 and my mom is 35. Many people assume that 22 is a young age to have a baby, but I don’t have any older siblings like my friends do, and my parents had me 5 months after their marriage. I agree, 22 is not that young of an age to have a child. As long as you are responsible with your child, I will give you my respect. I hate how people judge. Despite being tied down with all those kids as you put it, she was quite happy and still went on to achieve whatever she wanted as my Dad was pretty progressive and supported her in her endeavors

I’m 19 in college pursuing a medical career and getting pregnant would be the worst thing to possibly happen to me. I spend 16-17 hours a day in classes, studying, and at a part time job. A baby would ruin everything and give me zero time. I also probably would have to give up on medical school and training

I used to be ashamed of being a product of a teen mom but now I'm glad I have a young mom and that we'll be able to grow up together and I'll have her around longer! I won't be putting her in a nursing home when I'm in high school or college and my grandchildren and great grandchildren will know her! And my mom is no less of a woman or great mom. I'm proud of and love my mom. My mom is number one!

I had my period when I was 13 I couldn’t imagine getting a bby a year after despite circumstances. No one should have to become a parent without choice. To be ripped from your innocence and then have to live with that pain, is heartbreaking. A round of applause to all young parents who throw away there childhood and become a mother or father like they knew nothing else. Not everyone is that mature and a lot still live as kids with kids. Also, Oprah Winfrey’s story makes total sense when you think of what she does for others, the truly selfless people are the ones who have been through stuff and put others first and end up strong and a role model for others.

Not really. At 22 you will only have been a real adult, responsible for yourself and taking care of all of lifes problems on your own, for 4 years (more if your parents suck). You have no real idea who you are yet and have barely even really lived, so the chances of you raising a healthy, well adjusted child, are pretty slim. Honestly, how much of the world have you really experienced and what's your bank account look like?

I agree 21 is not young to have a baby It was pretty common when I was young, a lot of women got married young and had children young. My husband's mother was 16 when she got married and had him when she was 17, His father was 19. That was considered young, but not uncommon. Nobody I know who had kids young has ever regretted it. They are now in their 40's and 50's and grandparents and still very active and enjoying their families.
When a woman is in her 30-40’s that’s more concerning.
