Those cars have weak engines for the offroad, but you did it well.

I think the problem is weak transmissions, not that they break. But the auto is much less torquey than the 5 speed.

Well they have 2.4 liter 150-ish horsepower engines so might be both?

You no nothing about off-roading. 2.2 that the toyo pick up had was a 4 too. The outlander has open diff thats what the problem is

Just got a 2003 outlander 4x4 yet it seems to have no 4wd drive button. Does it have a 4wd drive mode if so how do I turn it on?

Hey Evan 👋 some models comes with front wheel drive only. Look under neath and see if your have drive line going to the rear. 🚗💨

Hey TB. 300km for that particular vehicle should be fine, still have life left my opinion. I bought recently 2003 with 289k miles it is about 470k km but surprisingly still was running fine. Got some oil leaks but runs great. I quess it is depending on price and condition of the vehicle. Good luck bro 💪
