    Incredible views Stephen, I so very much enjoyed watching this video! I like how the camera act as thought it's a FPV drone in many occasions. The footage and color is incredible compared to the small one (X3). 8:17 is a much deserved victory for you; I cannot stress out how tiring is it to do everything all by yourself and I applaud your courage for always going out to shoot videos, edit and upload. Fantastic work! 8:26 racing against the clock! Great work! The improvement in image quality from the X2 to X3 was pretty significant, but this looks to be on an entirely different level. It looks like its form factor might be a little big and heavy though for running.
    I’d love to see some lower light tests in the future, even filming at night, to see how the 1-inch sensor holds up. That’s of course where other action cameras are basically useless.

    • @StephenJReid
      @StephenJReid  Год назад +1

      Yeah it’s too heavy for running, not designed for it either.
      For lowlight it works best in an urban environment where’s there’s lights around. For low light in general, it’s better than the X3 but still a bit muddy.
      I’ll make make a test and post it on my tech channel.

    Couple of questions:
    What is that chest bag you're wearing?

    Just watching now, great video. I’ve got a couple of questions.
    Do you find the additional weight of the 1 inch, bends the 3m pole more? Does it become more noticeable upon reframing? Also, what colour profile did you use in the camera? I know you mentioned colour grading in post.
    I’ve just sold my x2, can’t decide between x3 and one inch. I’m all about the quality of the footage, but that new dive case makes the x3 so tempting. As I occasionally do go in the water. But I could use GoPro for that. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Choices, choices.
    Thanks.

    What a beautiful day out! Great edit, thanks for the review. The IQ looks great except for the red rectangle (seems to be reflection from the sensor, not lens flare) that appears when the sun’s at a certain angle to the lens. That looks a bit problematic to me.

    • @StephenJReid

      Seems most 360 cameras suffer from flare like this but it’s more obvious with the 1-inch, possibly due to larger lenses/sensor

    Wow, that's pretty impressive! Like drone footage almost! Funny how you can see the shadow of the pole but not the pole in your hand! Just found your (excellent btw) channel as I'm reviewing the Odalance headphones and you're on their site. Great how you can use it for a portrait or landscape footage in post production... Although my laptop wouldn't cope with 6k, it'd take me longer to edit this than to run the whole race lol! Have you run far with it? I film my trail races but not sure if I could hold out that long a pole for any length of time, maybe summit shots and not racing. Does it have a mic for chatting to camera? Currently use a Hero 8, the stabilisation and mic is great for most conditions. I got my friend to 3D print me an attachment to mount the GoPro on top of my running poles too. First use UTS 50k this weekend. Thanks for the vid! Sorry this comment got looooong, Claire

    • @StephenJReid
      @StephenJReid  Год назад +1

      Hi Claire! 😁 Been following your stuff on and off for a few years. Welcome to the channel.
      I’ve used the 1inch a couple of times when running but prefer the smaller X3 and not the 1inch. It’s lighter, cheaper and more waterproof. Although there is a small drop in quality.
      I keep the 1 inch version for hikes.
      You can see a good example of the X3 being used in a race here: ruclips.net/video/33_QNi7tOro/видео.html
      I keep it in my running vest along with GoPro and bring it out as needed. Does take a bit of practice using during an event. Have to be super careful with the lens, once smack and it’ll crack easily. Also if it’s rainy, the lens gets coated quickly.

    • @StephenJReid
      @StephenJReid  Год назад +1
