I saw a video where someone had a 2 headed snake, and when feeding he put up a piece of cardboard between the two heads, and the head that wasn't eating starting eating more
The bigger one eats the food of the smaller and is intimidating. I used to feed my smaller rat separately at the start and at the end, because his brother would get everything...
As someone who knows a lot about conjoined twins: The head size difference could be because ones system is working to support both of them, making it weaker/smaller (Not necessarily something to worry about), it could also be purely cosmetic tho. As long as they appear to have a good quality of life, mobility and no feeding problems, I wouldn't worry too much. It's also amazing how well they're learning to coordinate with eachother now
I wouldn't worry about the head sizes. Its not uncommon for one of the twins to be a little smaller. Both heads seem to function well enough as they are.
@@franz.francisco Just kind of seems like the right half is a runt, shell growth is different on each side too, with the left side having faster development.
Since two headed animals are so rare, you’re literally making history with these two. Keeping a journal of all that you did to keep the healthy will help others in the future!
Reptiles tend to have more of this, probably because they tend to have more babies with every clutch! It's really neat to see them growing. I hope they live a long and healthy life

I know when they’re young they eat more protein than they do as adults but do they eat any vegetables or fruit? From my experience sliders are suckers for anything bright and colorful like a tomato or a bell pepper! It’s good to introduce them to a variety of foods when they’re young!
This right here! We had a slider years ago that my brother left on the counter unsupervised near a fruit salad and the little guy bit into everything colorful it could reach and finished an entire slice of watermelon all on his own. He fell asleep in the carnage of fruit covered in juice and sticky AF and was angry we woke him up for a much needed bath but then got happy again when he was rewarded with some bell peppers lol
@@loop1827My girl Gilly likes red bell peppers more than my boy Bilbo. Both are box turtles. I definitely think she prefers red peppers to green, but yellow is good too iirc. But they both enjoy watermelon, as well as any melon on a rind! Or off a rind. But the rind is a convenient way to serve it.
@@loop1827 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Imagining a Turtle passed out, like a drunk college student, in a fruit salad, covered in half eaten fruit, and then getting cranky when he was woken up to be washed off is so friggin funny that I laughed pretty hard for a good minute! 😂 Thanks for sharing & for the laugh! 😄
Aww they look great! Their eyes look so clear, color so vibrant, they look so healthy! You did such an amazing job taking care of these lil guys while they figured out how to eat and walk on their own.
Vets are commenting that they shouldn't be x-rayed because it doesn't show enough detail. It needs to be an mri. Also it needs to be done when they are older.
Immediately upon seeing this update I was like "oh, they've grown so much!" Duo looks so healthy btw, great job! Coordination looks better too from the bit of the feeding video included! Thank you for the updates I need in my life on this cutie patootie
I don't think the difference in head size is a big issue, in a lot of cases with 2 headed reptiles, one head will do most of the eating while the other is kind of just along for the ride
They have the most beautiful eyes! 😍 and a double dose. Int he one shot the one on the left has blue eyes and the orher had the normal grey/green stunners. Your video quality is amazing Thanks for the interesting information illustrated with great images of these llittle guys. I love that they are hanging in there. Your care is commendable. Thank you.😊
Love that these babies are doing well (thanks to you!) despite them sharing one body. Two brains means two babies. Their little egg tooth’s are precious 🥰🥰🥰

Absolutely love those adorable little fighters! They're defying the odds and the people that don't believe in their survival!! Hope they live long and happily! Love to those little ninjas
It makes me glad that youre giving them the best quality of life that you can. I recommend emailing a professor or other research who specializes in amphibians (and especially turtles), they may be able to give more inside than an exotic vet and I imagine theyd love to keep an eye on things too.
Im glad you've been able to care for them and that they've made it this far. That's truly incredible. It looks like they've got some pretty dramatic shell curling. You might want to cut down on their protein and switch to an every other day feeding schedule or something.
I'm loving these updates! I hope that our descendants can witness the day that these two-for-one beauties are still living and thriving, by that time big enough to hold said descendant instead of the other way around. 😂
They gotta be Cer and Be, because the last head take the "Rus" with it. I've also thought of Sanford and Deimos, but probably won't stay. Also, I'm stunned by how they've not attacked each other yet, seems like this guys are smart enough to not try it, but better not stress them, stress messes up even perfectly normal animals, so yeah. Keep it up, sir!!! 🎉🎉🎉
This is fantastic, and so interesting! Nice work finding nourishing live cultures they'll take. I culture a few various live foods for my aquatic pets (fish and axolotls), and the blackworms are always a big hit, especially with my bettas and axolotls. I like that you can grow them nice and long too, so your lil guys will hopefully find them interesting for a long yime too. Grindall worms are super easy to culture, but I'm not sure if they'd be as appealing to your little dudes, especially as they get bigger. I look forward to learning their names and following their continued development!
It’s common for two headed turtles to have a curled shell. Sadly there’s no way for me to prevent or delay this. It’s something that we’re going to have to evaluate in the future as they grow.
The size difference may or may not be a concern but most likely will not be a concern. It usually indicates that one twin developed a little bit later than the other rather than significant difference in blood flow. Don't forget to offer vegetable material and that color and movement are important.
Those two are cuties. I purged my RUclips shorts and now I am left with wholesome stuff and those two snuck in. I am curious to see how they'll grow. I'm guessing that it is day time for you, so have a nice day
