Thank you for taking me with you on that lovely hike aound the beaches and harbour of North Berwick. Did I enjoy it? You bet your sweet petunias I did. No gravy and no curry sauce for your chips at the seafood shop? Didn't they have vinegar? I remember as a lad in the north-east of New South Wales, there was always a vinegar jug on the counter. We never see that here in Queensland, but I loved a sprinkle of vinegar on my chips. Down in New South Wales they cooked our fish in batter, but up here they cook fish in bread crumbs. Must admit I've become accustomed to that. Cheers
Hi John! Thanks for your comments. New South Wales sounds great. Would love to go there one day. Sadly I'm not a fan of vinegar on chips - which will shock most people! The shop did have vinegar but I prefer gravy or curry sauce! 😀
Absolutely fantastic as always Roger! Love a wee day trip along to North Berwick, and you've put me right in the mood for a return there soon. And there definitely seems to be a microclimate in East Lothian, the sun always shines oot there!
So glad to find your channel, the sights are absolutely spectacular! It's refreshing to find content with so much positivity, effort and wittines here on youtube. Warm regards all the way from Prague!
Hi, thanks for watching. Those views were from a steep hill at the back of the town called North Berwick Law. The views from the top are incredible. I did a separate video about it (which I filmed just after the Covid Lockdown was ending). Here's the link: ruclips.net/video/HxRuKz0OR5I/видео.htmlsi=8RjjtE5Hx9MsVFFp 😀
Love a day out in North Berwick but like you not been to Bass Rock. Used to enjoy a climb to the top of the Law,but don't think I am fit enough now. Really enjoyed the video and look forward to my next trip there
Thanks Alister - I did the Law back in the summer (which is where the aerial shot of North Berwick in this video came from) - and it’s quite a hard climb in places I admit. 😀
Sula Bassana is the technical name for the Northern Gannet, hence the boat name. Bassana as the Bass Rock is the largest colony of several around the coast.
The info you were given about the shallow pool is only partially correct. Although it is now mainly a paddling pool for little children, it was a boating pond where we used to sail our model yachts. Kids probably don't have model boats nowadays.
North Berwick is a popular holiday destination so has a good number of hotels, bed and breakfast and holiday rentals. A few days would be ideal or longer if you wanted to use it as a base to explore East Lothian. 😀
We're you paid to say braw chips problem these days use the cheapest oil same in most chip shops not out to get Awards as only chip shop ! As own most shops in the centre must be giving back hander to the council but interesting 🤔 about North Berwick
Thanks, Lovely little town, I was there 3 weeks ago, a great base! one of my favourite places!
Thanks for watching Iain. One of my favourite places too. So grateful we live just 20 minutes away! 😀

Thanks so much Nicolas. I visited Prague a few years ago and loved it. Would have been back sooner had it not been for the pandemic. 😀
Great Video, one of my favorite places for a day trip from Edinburgh. You definitely need to go back and do the boat trip out to Bass rock!
Thanks! Yes I’m looking forward to doing the Bass Rock trip. 😀
lovely and informative video :) where did you go to get the view from above? it was a perfect panoramic spot

I had a model sailing boat when I was a kid - that would have been a great place to sail one! 😀
Yes. That's what I was going to post. It was definitely mostly a model yacht pool when I was there in the 1945-51 timeframe.
I was there a few weeks ago, Nice but expensive
Glad you enjoyed your visit. Thanks for watching. 😀
Scottish chippy....gravy or curry? Crazy. Its brown sauce only in Edingburgh and East Lothian...
I had curry sauce from most chippies in Musselburgh and Tranent. No gravy, obviously! 😂
Do u suggest to stay a day or two?

Ha ha! Not paid! I was disappointed that they had no gravy or curry sauce. But I thought the chips were excellent. Maybe my standards are low. 🤔
