Paul C had that first cassette sonically sounding like a CD, back then. I'd nevere heard such crystal clear production blasting out my speaker out side of Dr Dre's NWA production, back then. And Super Lover's rhyme skills??? Second to NO ONE back then. EQUAL to Kane, Rakim AND... G-RAP!!!
*Girls I got em locked so similar to a prison in my awesome jams that are causin me favoritism I hearda bein dopin but this beat's a mover. The choreographer causin your funky dope maneuver*
True Hip Hop Classic and Icons. Their style and flow were like no other. Myself and My 22 year old son (who loves old school music) listen to their albums still. Blessing to you Cee and Rud
my group had just moved to new york when they dropped. I remember they had a record called im bad they played in ny but nowhere else I think it was like a demo

I supported this Duo 100%. Being a DJ from North Carolina I had and still have their album and 12" singles. I first heard "Do the James" on a New York WBLS cassette tape. They were on the countdown list with Big Daddy Kane's "Raw." "I Got A Good Thing" was my joint!
Now I'm not saying nas bit his style but he was the first mc I heard with a fast flow with a change of speed at times...ok I think nas got the same flow
Hmm!....I put Cee right up there with Rakim, Kane, Kris, Chubb as far as his unique, groundbreaking flow. Good to to see him doing well, he and Rudd's tracks still "snappin" to this day!
Classic album and Super Lover Cee pioneering emcee! Paul C was a legend too. RIP! Him being murdered in 1989 while working on their 2nd album stopped their momentum. Rumors that they were involved (proved not true) didn’t help at all. Their debut album is easily one of the most timeless albums of the 80s imo!
I totally agree with him that he should be mentioned more in discussion of some of the greatest MCs/Rappers because HE WAS ABSOLUTELY A ORIGINATOR AND A PIONEER OF THE DOUBLE SPEED RHYME STYLE. He rode and rhymed on beats with cadence just as good as Rakim it's not better. Just my opinion not taking anything away from the Rap God. In fact I think he would agree he agrees that Eminem is on another different level with his delivery cadence and rapping ability.
This brother, low-key is was one of the best to ever do it, he was so ahead of his time. Even crazier was the Paul C connection. I can't believe it never went gold👎🏾!Like what the Hell? Super Lover definitely had some bars ...
So many dOpe artists got jacked by the labels unknowingly signing contracts with loopholes into another vortex. Doing shit independently should've been the tool these young kids had back then to get what was rightfully theirs & cut the labels out whom didn't give a shit about them the music & the culture. Having said that hearing those Kiss FM classic tapes made these dudes legends to me!
Gotta blame their distribution. I would've bought this record if I knew where to find it. In some cases, the bootleggers were the only ones with the joints you wanted.
Super Lover Cee and Casanova Rud, were good artists, but where do they fit? Their lyrics and the beats were catchy. They had a hip hop/pop style! (DJs played em!)
still have the album on vinyl and still play it quite often. SO DOPE
Me too bought the Vinyl back in Boston of 1988.

Ahead of their time.
They were ahead of their time.
Those 2 songs were great, but the album was monotonous. All the songs sounded like Girls i Got Em Locked
