Why are people hating this video so much? It's a harmless tradition and past time, not an obsession and hardly harmful. The readings are not inherently negative, but nor are they positive. It's like a mumbly version of palm reading, or perhaps more relatable that paper folding game you play in school, or mash; a bit of fun.
I am Turkish as well. Actually, we do it for fun because nobody can know your future, career or love life, it’s all about guessing. My grandma was reading my turkish coffee, ı didn’t say no anytime because it was an excuse for talk to her and bonding with her.
Westerners are laughing at this, this is part of tradition after meals in greek/turkish houses. Its not real, but its a source of conversation, laughs and culture
Nope this women isn't doing it for laughs she thinks shes foolin people with her coffee magic. Its not culture, it's just another form a gypsy fortune telling
Harrison is it really? I wish they explained that. from the outside looking in this lady seems to be scammer. she never once said it was just for fun or conversation. she made it seem like she is really reading the ground coffee. we are laughing at her apparent attempt to fool us.
It's not just Turks and Greeks, but Armenians too, which is funny cuz we have a deep-seated animosity towards the Turks. It just goes to show that the attractive aspects of culture transcends our conscious views.
People are so harshly against this in the comments - it's true what they say about youtube comments! It's just a video! Lighten up. I liked it! One of my mom's good friends is Iranian - and an engineer - and loves to do turkish coffee reading with us. It's fun and light hearted and a great way to embrace her culture.
@@nia5449 yes i know about the Turkish Cypriotics, i even went there and we had done this with my friends (it is nothing to take serious about tho, it doesnt tell you the future it is just for fun) but i never knew it was a thing in Slavic countries too
"What's wrong messenger lady?" "My god, Harry. You have.....the Grim!" lol, jokes aside, it looks like most people are getting perturbed over the coffee messenger. Maybe there's a cultural thing behind it? For me, I would have loved to see more on what makes Turkish coffee what it is; like the addition of cardamom to give it its unique smell and taste.
Σεma that's very good that you read the cup and not the person! Some coffee readers they just read the person...they don't really know how to read the coffee
Today I randomly came across a lady doing Turkish coffee readings which is something I've always wanted to do. She saw several symbols in my coffee cup. Her first observation was that there's something in my life causing my great anxiety but that there is a literal light at the end. She also saw some very interesting symbols like a woman surrounded by bees next to a man near beaded curtains trying to work an issue out, a small figurine, and a cake which indicates a celebration. I was wondering if anyone else has found similar symbols and how accurate they were (what happened in your future?). She also told me how once she did a reading for someone and saw pyramids and later that person got a scholarship to study in Egypt.
I believe this is Not a joke and you can see symbols inside the cup. Everyone see it with their own eyes so it is a little Bit using your Imagination. You can see symbols everywhere so please people if you cannot understand then don't judge. Blessings ❤
Have more respect please! This a tradition in one specific country , and what about yours? Should we laugh about that too? and not, I am not Turkish I am latino.
I am Turkish.Actually we do this for a kind of therapy. At least all of my friends and relatives tell me they feel good whenever ı read their fortunes. It is kind of telling them everyting will be allright.
there is no house from any country that was under the Ottoman Empire from Balkans to the middle east that is not immune to this kind of reading...but is all fun
Wow i wasn't aware people hate our coffee this much... I'm a Turk and we are doing this with my mom for fun everyday. I know there is a similar "reading" thing with tea in China too. It's just a tradition guys calm down!
i have a question anyone can answer, can anyone do these coffee readings as long as we respect where it comes from ect or is it disrespectful for me to do it just wanna make sure
Noo of course you can do it .any one can do it if they want . But some readers are just a big scam and charge a lot of money and don’t even know how to read so becareful.
we Turks gave Italians the coffee in the 1600s after a war between ottomans and the Italian empire and also if any Italians reading this you lot copied our lahmacun {Aka Turkish pizza}!!
What's wrong with people? It's fortune-telling via reading coffee cup? What's the heck is wrong with that? Live and let others live! Because its coffee associated with fortune telling and thats offensive for some people. Especially since turkey is a muslim country
