Would love to see another update, would be amazing if you could make the videos longer, i could happily watch an hour long documentary of insight into the things that go on at the Lammas project
Love love love to you all - wonderful - encouraging and definitely the way forward! I would LOVE to join you! I tried to do this in Portugal, but it can't be done alone (my son moved on and settled in Finland). The land is still there, over 26 years organic class A soil, fruit trees, a Well, excellent long-term compost loo, wooden house, caravan, solar and wind power -- waiting to be loved and hoping for some wonderful souls like yourselves to take it on as a living project.
Hi my name is woodstock and I volunteered for Toa and Hoppi for a while and if you are thinking of visiting stop thinking and do it you will meet beautiful people in a beautiful place Love and light to you all xxx ps will be back soon.
Ardderchog!,..I stumbled across this because I was actually researching getting Llamas!, This place looks just wonderful beyond anything else I've discovered on youtube. It's particularly inspiring to me because i was born in Brecon. I'm at a crucial crossroad in my life now and would love to come to visit. Are you open to visitors?...
This is amazing!!! I watched grand designs last night Simons house is great! Well done guys are there anymore projects like this? I would love to move my family into something similar one day keep it up guys! ✊🏻
I noticed there was no one with a strong regional accent. Most of them sound like they have come from the south of England.Probably from well educated, middle class families
It's all goes round and round .we started in mud huts worked up to houses .now ppl are returning to making there homes away from others living like w did a few100 years ago
Sounds similar to Williamsburg, Virginia with the exception that the participants in Lammas live there. Who actually owns the land and structures? Could such a community exist without donations and visiting fees? Good, arable land is always in high demand and never inexpensive. Got a nest egg, perhaps link with others with means and these could work. Poor people would have to have a lot of luck and many very lean years to succeed over a protracted time period.
No, they moved on to a different place nearby. I don't know who now lives on that plot, but I'm sure they are continuing to develop it in their own unique way.
I have a question , Is it hard to find land without zoning restrictions going against an ecovillage? Ive been planning to start one but i wonder about restriction and things of that nature. Thanks so much
So it is basically a farm with planning permission for dwellings based on 75% self sufficiency targets. I wonder if you divided UK population and workable land on the ratio of these guys numbers in terms of land, the size of their dwellings (big) and energy needs you would come out with a sustainable model. I don't believe that this project is even close to being a sustainable model. Still a few people got a fantasy home at build cost and who wouldn't like that? Group hugs lovelies.
dumpdigger dave Fucking is son, come live in Wales. You'll change your tune, pretty rapidly - Scottish are British too but you omitted them, different rules in different parts of the UK. I'm English and married a 1st Language Welsh woman my children are bilingual, but don't make out there is/are no cultural differences. I speak welsh and fit in, but be under no illusions there are unresolved cultural issues and saying "We are all British" doesn't help resolve them. Parts of Pembrokeshire are almost English enclaves which wouldn't be an issue in predominantly English speaking parts like South Wales. But West Wales has a very high number of welsh speakers /enclave so imagine the problem of Holiday lets in Cornwall and dial it up a notch.
Hi wonderful people, thanks for that great video. If you have ever considered moving to an Eco-Village feel free to email me +Costa Rica. We've already planted thousands of high-quality fruit trees in our Eco-village, we have lots of water and good neighbors. We used our IRA "Self-Directed" to purchase with no tax penalty.

Absolutely fabulous!! What a delight to see people who have been living in harmony with the land!

+COZMOJO I'm packing right now and heading over in three days. Can you get me in direct contact with Toa. This is mine & my girlfriends calling.
Oh ok thank you, do they accept new people?
Hi Daniel yes just go to the website and fill a request form in someone will get back to you
Would you happen to know the website?
English hippies seem to congregate in Wales.
perhaps bc the shareholders/developers/planners/central gov. etc etc etc have a stranglehold on the English land stocks?
@@marciamcgrail5889 No offence intended. Just an observation.
Same in Scotland - see Findhorn. Not a single local accent at Findhorn. English or American every last one. Speaks volumes.

Hi there. Lammas run open days through the summer. You can see the dates on the website I believe or contact them directly. lammas.org.uk/
So sad to hear of the fire at lammas i heard they raised enough money to rebuild but still it took them so much effort ..
Can we have another one now please? 5 years later? 2019? Thank you.
It's a good idea, Isabel. I'll give it some thought. Are there any questions you'd especially like to ask?
Wonderful, lessons in living.

Hi Jeannine. You can find out more through my website: livinginthefuture.org/, or the Lammas website : lammas.org.uk/
I noticed there was no one with a strong regional accent. Most of them sound like they have come from the south of England.Probably from well educated, middle class families
Yes middle class rich that had money to begin with, no good for us common poor folk.
Guillermo Lombana they move to welsh language areas and fail to integrate. It’s killing Wales.
@@Ceidonianphysicist Welsh independence would soon sort that out.

What a control to live under. To make a report every year. To hell with that.
I would love to know if they rebuilt after the fire.
No, they moved on to a different place nearby. I don't know who now lives on that plot, but I'm sure they are continuing to develop it in their own unique way.
@@LivingintheFuture thank you for responding!
can people go visit this place? or go live there?
COZMOJO Cool. I 've been thinking about this lifestyle for a long time now. Are you in Wales?

This is the missing piece of western civilization that the business interests ended in 1860's.

I wouldn't describe the houses the guys build as 'big' - There not tiny for sure but seem to be just large enough to suit their requirements.
IRClevor Not sure many would qualify as Houses...Or even hovels.
Want to know about eco village just email me..thanks
i would love to do something like that build an off grid earthship but the planning in the uk is a bitch
what do you do with the calves once born, especially the male calves? do you artificially inseminate?
I d love to join this village that's the real garden of Eden is a dream life !
What a wonderful lifestyle!
Also getting strong 1970's Peter Frampton vibes from the long hair. Just sayin'...
Do any Welsh people actually live there, or is it just English people using the land?
