Community patches are everything nowadays, these studios aren't going to fix them. I play most older games with community patches and mods to fix or improve aspects.
"Quality of life" as I understand it is just making games less tedious. For example, if a game makes you sell things one at a time and then gets updated so you can sell multiple things at a time that would be a QoL improvement. Just a bunch of small stuff that hopefully adds up.
Can we get some “quality of life” improvements for SR2 on PC? Like you guys promised? On IdolNinja’s deathbed? No? Well at least we have Xenia for the time being
5:25 I bought this game with a friend for coop, cause yknow, saints rows coop was always fun and a big selling point. After we played for maybe 5 hours, we had countless disconnects and crashes, we just uninstalled it and never went back. Very excited to play the coop game I bought as a single player experience. Very hype. Much wow. Thanks Volition.
It's ironic how despite A.i deepfakes and voices sounding real nowadays they chose one that sounded absolutely terrible and did they not have an editor on the team? Because the announcement felt like it had a more cheap budget than the actual game
What killed the base game for me was I really tried liking it. I tried so hard to give it a fair shot as a renewed IP. Unfortunately, I found myself loving the LARP missions. The characters meshed the best. The humor was actually there, and jokes landed in a way I managed to actually laugh. And that was when I realized I got scammed by volition. I wasn't playing Saint's Row, I was playing a sunset overdrive knock off with half the effort put in and a saints row sticker slapped on it.
To me, bugfixes are not quality of life updates. QoL should be something like improved mechanics, minor visual changes for clarity, etc. A half-assed patch to "fix" your broken release is not a "quality of life" update.
Got to hand it to the devs, their delusions of this game being anything but the failure it was is kind of sweet. I remember contacting them on Twitter when the trailer first dropped saying as a fan of every previous game I wouldn't be buying this, their reply was pretty much this. "We are targeting a NEW generation of gamers, NOT YOU!" How did that work then guys? Its what you get when you make a game who's characters personalities reflect the average Twitter user.
I see my decision to not play this iteration of Saints Row is still keeping me from experiencing the pain of watching the SR name be violated. It's pathetic the way the base game was handled and this DLC roadmap is so horrendous you would think it's some sort of continuing parody or satire. I am even more confident that Saints Row as a franchise is totally finished now, there is just no way back at this point.
Maybe that was Volition's plan all along. To "Matrix 4" this shit and never look back. It's not like they ever liked their own IP to begin with, but I'd rather they have just sold it off rather than continue abusing their child like this.
@@MarvinPowell1 Aye I've no idea why they hate SR so damn much but they really do. It's weird man, I can't tell if they honestly thought people would love this game just because they filled it with horribly stereotypical minorities. SR is meant to be whacky, immature and un-politically correct but it was also brilliantly insightful with it's satire at the same time. Like I say I've not played this but I have watched a few gameplay videos and it looks so soulless compared to the older titles. It looks worse than Agents of Mayhem, which I unfortunately did play. I know a lot of people hated the super hero aspect but Saints Row 4 is to me one of the best games I've ever played. It had it's problems but man was it fun. Definitely more fun that whatever the hell this is.
It’s just sad what happened to Saint’s Row. With the reboot they could have made a origin story or the founding of the original 3rd Street Saint’s with a more realistic Graphic and mature tone, focusing on the Gang War’s like like SR1 and SR2. Starting with the Playa as the Boss and later during the Campaign recruiting the original members, Johnny Gat, Lin, Troy, Dex and maybe Julius Little as well. For the Setting they could just use a new version of Stillwater with new Locations on it or connect it with Steelport.

Ik that Saints Row is gonna get *one* more chance eventually but holy shit Volition kept fucking up on a near deliberate level. This is the most deserved downfall I've ever seen for a franchise and studio. Hope Gearbox gets this soft humor bullshit out and delivers a good game that *doesn't* have outdated gameplay, but I'm not hopeful.

Also, this: _The DLC expansion campaign to the Saints Row reboot features the fan-favorite character Kenzie Kensington, a genius hacker and member of the Third Street Saints. In this new adventure, Kenzie finds herself in a new city, working as a consultant for a tech company. However, things quickly take a turn for the worse when she discovers that the company is up to no good and using their technology for nefarious purposes._ _As players take control of Kenzie, they'll have to use all of her skills and cunning and team up with the Saints boss to uncover the company's secrets and bring them down. This won't be an easy task, as the company's security is top-notch and they won't hesitate to eliminate anyone who threatens their plans._ _Along the way, Kenzie will team up with new allies and reunite with familiar faces from her time in the Saints. Players will have to use their hacking skills to bypass security systems, solve puzzles, and gather information to uncover the company's ultimate goal. The campaign will feature new missions, weapons, and vehicles, as well as a gripping storyline filled with twists and turns that will keep players engaged from start to finish._ _The DLC expansion campaign will also introduce a new gameplay mechanic that allows players to use Kenzie's hacking abilities to manipulate the environment and gain the upper hand in combat. This will add a new layer of strategy to the game, as players can use their wits to outsmart their enemies and turn the tide of battle in their favor._ _With its compelling story, exciting new gameplay mechanics, and the return of fan-favorite character Kenzie Kensington, the DLC expansion campaign to the Saints Row reboot is sure to be a hit with fans of the series. Are you ready to join Kenzie on her new adventure and take down a corrupt corporation? The fate of the city is in your hands._
This feels like BF 2042; they’re obligated to “finish” off a product by completing their promise with the expansions. After that, it’ll be thrown away for their next project. Guess we’ll see how polished it will be by the end of the year, where I doubt it’ll be substantial. 7:13 I can only imagine how many attempts were made for such a perfect gag.
I'm betting '' Combat overhaul '' translates to, Now the quick draw ability will actually freakin work and we put grenades on the L1 button instead of tucked away in a menu when C4 isn't. As for '' Quality of Life'' That translates to, Wait until we see how many people ask for a specific feature then we'll add it to the game otherwise sod it we'll just change the colour grading a tad and call it a day. I mean hopefully robbing stores in my crime game is a '' quality of life'' Improvement they'll add
I think the only way this series can be saved is with Saints Row 2 starting with the "Saints" being brutally gunned down and the boss becoming a hardened, Cold, Psychopath because of this. Other than that I don't know how they can really continue these characters..
In contrast to this....trainwreck, Naoki Yoshida the head of development at CBU3 not only did a fantastic job showcasing more of Final Fantasy XVI at Pax east, he turned around and did a live letter for the newest patch for Final Fantasy XIV. That was more concise, to the point and informative than whatever fuck this thing that Volition put out is.
Has anyone ever asked someone outside of the Saints Row community what they think about this reboot? I'm curious to see if Volition actually reached the demographic they were aiming for. ( I HEAVILY DOUBT they did with the lack of Multi-player but still curious)
Edgerunners was in production before the game came out and Volition clearly doesn't have the budget to get an anime made by one of the most successful animation studios so this would come out in a few years with shit animation lol
fyi quality of life translates to and im paraphrasing of course "were gonna fix the bugs and glitches that shouldeve never been in there in the first place"
The amount of "and more" throughout their "roadmap" really just says they have no idea about what to do with the series and can't be bothered to actually fix it
what really rustles my jimmies is how people keep hyping up the updates and saying how this is gonna save the game. yes, we do have success stories like this, but have we seriously been cucked so hard by the gaming industry that the hype for bug fixes and overhauls can equal that of the game itself? what happened to having a quality product from the get-go? why can't we leave patches for small bug fixes like maybe a few funky textures or ped path-finding? why something as fundamental as the combat is so broken that it needs "overhauling" in the first place? notice how every new line of that announcement keeps saying "improvements", like, by the gods, m8, just improve EVERYTHING at once, don't dripfeed FIXES of all things. players shouldn't be waiting for a game to be "saved" 1 year after release, they should be mad the game even needs saving at all
Saints Row reboot has been so sordid that it looks like it is an expansion pack for WATCH_DOGS 2. I could list down everything that made it into an abomination towards every organised crime game we know, but Volition using AI voice to advertise an announcement for new DLC with absolute indolence is totally unimaginable to my eyes.

"Quality of life" as I understand it is just making games less tedious. For example, if a game makes you sell things one at a time and then gets updated so you can sell multiple things at a time that would be a QoL improvement. Just a bunch of small stuff that hopefully adds up.
in the mind of volition, it means "we'll fix the game, maybe", that's why there's so many of them, cause the games a buggy mess.
Quality of life = increasing population density that's it . They are marketing it like a big deal .
Can we get some “quality of life” improvements for SR2 on PC? Like you guys promised? On IdolNinja’s deathbed?
No? Well at least we have Xenia for the time being
I can't mod Xenia but at least that's an option.
I feel so bad for the people who bought this game for a 100 dollars
They deserve it for still buying it after seeing that trailer
I don't lol! They could've resisted

Nice one 👍!
Good work, playa.

I'd love to see SR2 being speed run more.
In retrospect this seens like the sigh of volitions death.
Only thing I'm waiting for for Saints Row is that SR2 patch that's probably never coming out
lolll i hadn't seen the ad and thought that ai voice was your doing. that's insane
Sniff sniff sniiiiiiiifff...
I smell an NFT coming, like holy shit. AI voices???
why fix a game that everybody wants to forget ?
lol
If it isn't the SR2 patch I'm not interested
The people that bought the season pass for this. smh.
Maybe that was Volition's plan all along. To "Matrix 4" this shit and never look back. It's not like they ever liked their own IP to begin with, but I'd rather they have just sold it off rather than continue abusing their child like this.
@@MarvinPowell1 But that wouldn't give them attention and make money if they did that.
@@spongebobfan78 as if developing and selling THIS game would make them more profit than selling the IP
I wonder how much of the original saints row development and writing team actually worked on this game.
Most of them actually left after SR2
Even someone who worked 4 and GooH?
@@GhostRangerr yeah I thought so . A lot of people don’t understand this
When Flippy uploads >
The saints row franchise has been dragged through the streets like Carlos
It’s just sad what happened to Saint’s Row. With the reboot they could have made a origin story or the founding of the original 3rd Street Saint’s with a more realistic Graphic and mature tone, focusing on the Gang War’s like like SR1 and SR2. Starting with the Playa as the Boss and later during the Campaign recruiting the original members, Johnny Gat, Lin, Troy, Dex and maybe Julius Little as well. For the Setting they could just use a new version of Stillwater with new Locations on it or connect it with Steelport.
i thought the tiktok video was a parody done by Flippy until he told that it was an official promotion
the fuck
Quality of life update: we killed off the anoying friends
Quality of life update: we fixed the broken ass combat system
Quality of life update: we pulled our heads out of our collective asses and made a real saints row game in secret
I mean, a guy can dream right?
holy shit I've been watching flippy for 8 years and I'm 17 now, plz come back more papa flippy
Maybe if they give the game to their audience to do whatever the heck they want with it, then it might be save.
No, if the fanbase don't like what the Dev's do, you simply aren't welcome in the community and are definitely an terrorist worse than one of these two European gentlemen with fresh Moustache
and I thought that thing about going back in time in Saints Row 4 would be the way to Saints Row 5...I was so wrong
I hop they still release the Saints Row 2 update, its pretty devastating that Mike worked on it for how long he did just for the possiblity that it might not happen.
I'm surprised you're still sticking to this series like that
Ik that Saints Row is gonna get *one* more chance eventually but holy shit Volition kept fucking up on a near deliberate level. AOM was a disaster, and for this game Volition ignored what everyone and their mother told them on the game thet wanted. But Volition *thought* THEY new better than the mfs they wanted money from. This is the most deserved downfall I've ever seen for a franchise and studio. Hope Gearbox gets this soft humor bullshit out and delivers a good game that *doesn't* have outdated gameplay, but I'm not hopeful.
Gearbox is known for that exact type of soft humor bullshit, you're going to be very disappointed having even the most miniscule of hopes in Gearbox.
No it's just that leftist mentality. Their logic is self sabotaging and they fool themselves all the time.
At this point a true Quality of life improvement would be to just port the first two games on to new platforms ig
Honestly, the LARP story arc feels like they ran out of ideas for... the nerd whose name I can't even remember... and dumped what was supposed to be a DLC into the main game.
I think they couldn't find anyone who wanted to voice the announcement who didn't get ludicrously embarrassed reading it
People would do anything for money these days. This is just much cheaper
Theory: They used Inferkit to write their update road maps. That's why it repeated itself so much
Its not Volition's fault. It was Deep Silver. Volition wanted a Saints Row 2.5 DS turned it down.
From answering question"Can i dress my character As Kpop??" and they said yes even gangster and now this ai announcement.. just to show you how could be bad the situation right now in their office must be right now..
Saints Row Reboot look like it was supposed to come out in 2015 💀💀💀💀
It's like Saints Row has just become a study in how much they can get away with.
I was literally playing the game a few days ago, Trying to beat the Radio station missions, and had to reset the game at least ten times as the bosses would never turn up in the fights. I actually though I was doing something wrong to begin with, but nope, game is a buggy POS.
This is hilariously sad. They literally gave up on it.
"Improve Quality of life", "add quality of life", "quality of life quality of life quality of life". QOL is making certain features more streamlined and redundant mundane tasks automated. These studios better not try to use the term Quality of life to replace the term "bug fix"

Only way I see Saint's Row surviving, is if they get rid of this crew and pull a Devil may Cry. Have a one-off reboot, then continue the old story with the old characters with people who actually care about the series and not push out some left-wing millennial fever dream with no humor
What I see is the best outcome is that volition dies. And the rights are sold to some other company that actually cares.

No way the Volition that gave us this is not the same Volition that gave us SR1&SR2. Things were better when they were under THQ ownership.
I know volition wrote themselves into a corner with saints row 4 but the true ending mentions time travel
sure this might not sound worth anyone's time but they could've made it so the saints went back in time and destroyed the zin empire in its entirety before it invaded earth, saving the planet and giving us possibly another saints row game
but nope we got something I can't call saints row
what do I even call it
The saints row IP needs to be sold to a studio with passion and care for the series people want a saints row 1&2 remake and we all now that volition can’t deliver on that
Sometimes it's hard believe that the first two games are part of the series made by the same developers, it's hilarious that the a.i is doing everything for them yet they refuse to realize they were in the wrong to not listen to it's fanbase because they couldn't handle criticism 😂
Maybe AI made this game. It researched what's "gangster" and found all these ironic takes. It would explain a lot actually.

@@MarvinPowell1 That Kenzie expansion actually sounds awesome, it's like Watch Dogs meets Saints Row.
This feels like BF 2042; they’re obligated to “finish” off a product by completing their promise with the expansions. After that, it’ll be thrown away for their next project. Guess we’ll see how polished it will be by the end of the year, where I doubt it’ll be substantial.

I think the only way this series can be saved is with Saints Row 2 starting with the "Saints" being brutally gunned down and the boss becoming a hardened, Cold, Psychopath because of this. Other than that I don't know how they can really continue these characters..

what really rustles my jimmies is how people keep hyping up the updates and saying how this is gonna save the game. yes, we do have success stories like this, but have we seriously been cucked so hard by the gaming industry that the hype for bug fixes and overhauls can equal that of the game itself? what happened to having a quality product from the get-go? why can't we leave patches for small bug fixes like maybe a few funky textures or ped path-finding? why something as fundamental as the combat is so broken that it needs "overhauling" in the first place? notice how every new line of that announcement keeps saying "improvements", like, by the gods, m8, just improve EVERYTHING at once, don't dripfeed FIXES of all things. players shouldn't be waiting for a game to be "saved" 1 year after release, they should be mad the game even needs saving at all

Saints Row reboot has been so sordid that it looks like it is an expansion pack for WATCH_DOGS 2.
