This was great to see because it brought back many good memories for me. I was the resident DJ in the Museum Club at the time and met Rick and David on several occasions. We had such a good relaxed atmosphere at the club that many famous musicians from the rock, pop and jazz world would visit us, eat in our restaurant, hang out and let their hair down on my dance floor. Happy days.

What was the main type of music that you played ? I take it not only disco and "eurotrash" , but also some surprising off the wall things ? Some DJ's I knew were able to throw in for example "Down On The Street" by The Stooges , inbetween the regular disco fare....That would certainly be demanded by the clientele your club frequented...

I've just looked up Lee. Seems he's in a Led Zep tribute band as 'Robert'. Great stuff.

@@PAULLONDENridiculous though it seems I’ve only just seen your comment, apologies. Of course, being the 70’s, I played a lot of ‘chart disco’ but equally a lot of funk…The Meters, James Brown, Funkadelic, Johnny Gtr Watson etc. As it got later in the evening I mixed it up with West Coast stuff…Little Feet, Orleans, Boz Scaggs and then Zep, ZZ Top, Sabbath.
I tried always to cater for all tastes and I guess that’s why we were so successful. Thanks for your comment. 😊

@@andrewmurray5542Hi, yes indeed I carried that role for 12 years, although as a band we never went down the route of ‘look alike’, we just recreated the music. I loved singing Zep. After 28 years we retired the band at the end of 2022. Thanks for your comment. 😊

Every time I see a video of Rick Wakeman, I keep hearing his Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame induction speech:
“Half a mile from this building is where I had my first meaningful sexual experience. It wasn’t very good... never is when you’re on your own.”

I saw Rick Wakeman live in 1975 with a cape on his back and Dinosaur bones reaching up to the heavens behind his keyboards.

Charlie Watts has panned Bowie's musical abilities.......Wakeman confirms them... Which of these two musicians would a musician believe? You decide.....

    • @Setmose

Bowie himself was producer on Ziggy Stardust, helped a bit on the string arrangements by Mick Ronson. I think that's enough evidence of Bowie's musical talent.

Was Charlie doing heroin at the time when he said this? He did have a big problem, which at the time was a shock, during the early to mid-eighties; He stopped when he almost lost his family over it. I love Charlie, and who doesn't? But he's wrong...Bowie, like Charlie and Rick Wakeman...are musical gifts that are to be cherished...not compared.

@@markwoollon Crime of the Century is one my favorite albums of all time. And the outdoor show they give in Montreal under a red full moon on an island of the Saint-Laurent river was unforgetable.

One of the strangest comments in the history of Rock ,even if you are not a fan there is no question of Bowie,s incredible ,and in many ways unique songwriting ability when you here Wakeman describing hearing Life on Mars for the first time or Ian Hunter talk about Bowie playing Drive in Saturday for him you are left in little doubt about his songwriting. I guess Watts wasn’t a fan but no excuse for saying something so blatantly untrue ....but you know what they say about Drummers.

Charlie Watts wouldn’t have known a real musician if one slapped him in the face. All Charlie could ever do was play the same couple of drum beats over and over through all of the Stones songs. The Stones are nothing but an overrated, glorified lounge band. 😬🙄🤦🏻‍♂️🤪🤣
