It's the little things that can turn AFL games in an instant. Whether it's a coin toss or silly banner seemingly irrelevant actions can have big impact.
1989, Geelong's 1st Quarter tactics in the 89 Grand Final. While going hard and aiming to take out Hawthorn's dangerous players like Brereton, Plattern, Ayers and Dipper during the first half of the game proved to be vital tactic that paid off in the final quarter, the cost for Geelong going hard early was costing easy goals in the opening 30 minutes of the game. Hawthorn hang on in the end by 6 points.
lol Carlton have no right to criticise anyone else’s rebuild. Carlton’s “They know we’re coming” slogan hasn’t really instilled fear in opponents with 2 finals wins in 14 years prior to last year.
That isn't what happened at all - we were never going to hold out long enough to win, Dogga torched Stef Martin in the ruck contest after Bont's goal and our defence was all over the place. Had Wood not been playing on Fritsch during that blitz, we might've fared better, but in the end I don't think we stood a chance after we lost the momentum
There's a probably apocryphal tale that Collingwood wanted to take Ben Reid out of the Prelim line up against GWS in 19 because we wanted to drop a tall for a small, but didn't because Ben Reids 150th game banner was already made......since that's not true probably, the worst Collingwood error is still the Gubby Allan kick across goal in the 80s that Beasley marked....well that and drafting Nathan Freeman
You wanna talk what not to do Ed Langdon against Collingwood in 2022 when he sledged Collingwood calling them “all duck and no dinner” and a “one trick pony”
Well done mate, love it
Thanks bull. Your channel is killing it at the moment, been following you for a while. Oddities is a great series.

Messages on run through banners are irrelevant to the result.
Richmond have achieved more than most have, including producing the only 3 time norm smith medallist in history.
