I'll never understand how AFL players don't get a premiership medal just because they didn't play the actual grand final. Can lead them the whole way but not play the game and just be left empty handed (I reckon they still count it though off paper) I know we want to throw every American thing to the wind but if you play a game for the team that wins the premiership you should get a medal. Plain And simple

As a Carlton fan I have zero clue how this game could possibly go, which makes me feel weirdly optimistic. I disagree that it's Brisbane's game to lose, I think Carlton at their best can beat most of the league, it's just a case of recapturing that after the slump. What Carlton need is mindset, which is something Doc has always improved for those around him just by putting studs in turf, but god only knows how much of an impact he will make.

Though I disagree with Freo being the most likely to jump into the eight next year, you mention their 3 key injuries, Collingwood and Carlton played most of the season with 5+ key injuries, at times both having over 16 on the injury list (though not all key players obviously, some fringe AFL players). Freo had a relatively good run with injury for most of the year. Still very unlucky to not make finals though, them and Collingwood both have the most wins/points to not make finals.

it was about to be a Carlton 2022 Deja vu, if only Port just let Freo win. They already bagged for a top 2 spot but good coaching from Kenny, the only way that could push them to winning more games and improve is by playing in a hostile situation where anything could change.
