I want to thank Worcester Academy for allowing 1 weeknight off a semester from study hall- I took my 1 night to go see Jerry and cry during Shining Star :)
I was a sophomore at WPI at the time...this was walking distance from my apartment. What a magical show.
A most memorable evening @ The Centrum for sure....love you Jerry
21 years gone. 21 years missed. Grateful forever! Thank you Jerry once again for the music and spirit you generated and seeded our world with. It will resonate forever! Peace!!!
i remember barely the show i saw in the early 80's, and i was in a trance for days after. What was big that i remember was weather report. Damn if that was not going to play in my brain the rest of my life. Thank God i was there that night.
Man, I recall these shows - tunes that serenaded me through life.
Was lucky to be at this show. What a night!
Jerry shows were always so serene during this time period. I saw 3 shows on this tour and a many more in prior years. Just such a nice contrast to the craziness that Dead shows had become by '91.
agree
@ Sarah Riley
From '85 and up the East Coast shows were unreal. Starting in Virginia they only got better as they moved up the Coast. People walked out of shows in a trance. I had to stand there and watch. Massachusetts almost not allowed them to play there. That would've been nice considering JERRY GARCIA wasn't allowed in the State of NJ.
Jerry Garcia is truly one of the greatest musicians I've ever heard. Particularly when it comes to covering other artist's material, Bob Dylan being the prime example - JGB has so many astonishingly beautiful covers throughout the catalog.
Perfect set lists perfect night would love to recreate this line up. In live real time or clouds will work just fine. My man Jerry seems to do it every time. And I don't care who disagrees must just b haters. But o well more Jerry 4 me. 🖤😘🖤😍
That was really sweet. Unfortunately I Missed the bus and never made it to a JGB show. These later year shows were so soulful and beautiful......the church of Jerry Garcia.
What a GREAT set this is, really and truly...thank you Less Than Face Productions
Yeah man, I was there! What a night!! One of the best shows I've ever seen seen. Sweet, mellow scene at the Centrum with an awesome crowd. Jerry Garcia - the Great One.
@ manchestercitizen
Nice. So was I.
This was a great tour. Blues Traveler opening and the JGB really bringing it. Only the memory of the recently deceased Bill Graham cast a pall over the proceedings.
Thank you poster!! And thank you( if you are not one and the same) the
person that snuck a video camera into shows and captured this. ( i used
to notice them and was delighted at the prospect of seeing their efforts
in the future. That is now and thank you so very Much!!!!!!!!!!! You
are all unsung hero's of music history!!)
I was at different shows on this tour. Such wonderful memories. Thank you, and Happy Birthday, Jerry.
This was amazing, was searching for a Midnight Moonlight because we have a full moon and it's just after midnight and came across this set..........Loved this....thank you for posting it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! R.I.P. Jerry, Miss You and thank you for filling the Attics of My Life so wondrously!!!!!!!!!!
What great quality all around. Turn it up!
JGB kicking ass as usual. This set has a lot to offer as far as variety and music genre go.
Beautiful performance !
Thanks a lot
c'est last vie. .. what a fun tune!
Melvin Seals was exceptional on keyboards.
Paris Merriam he is still crushing it. if he comes your way in any of the projects he's involved with, go see him! you will dance the night away!
Jerry played well only when he felt like it.
Seals and Kahn HAD to play well when Jerry fell like it. Pros.
Jerry's nickname for Melvin was “master of the universe.”
I was at this show.
C'est la vie reminds me a little of Dixieland music; Jerry hit those notes that made you dance.
I was there.
Many thanks!
Jerry's voice here so mellow. Actually slow tempo. SO Jerry Garcia was a soulshaker too.
This is a very soulful show. I was tenth row center. The sound was amazing, some of his finest work, Shining Star in particular.
Sublime,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JERRY
Absolutely stunning job from the video crew on this one. What a catch! The Melvin cam tickles me pink!!
Best regards to you from Less Than Face Productions
I saw many a Dead , JGB, varying Weir bands in my life. Even if I was against the rail getting squashed below the stage--you were busy dancing, tripping, and just living the moment waiting to hear the lil' tickle of chord from Tiger or Weir's Ibanez that would let you know what song was coming next or lost in the middle of inner space during a Cassidy or whopper Scarlet-Fire transition with no idea what song they are playing because you are so lost in the beauty of the universe unfolding from the 9 fingered Buddha just spraying out notes from the stage. The lightning, thunder and other forces of nature that seemingly would arise during sets of outdoor shows that would just super-charge the band-audience energy factor by 100.
These vids are are doing more to keep me sane in the 21st century than anything else on Planet Earth. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. Thank you.
Very cold night outside. Folks were getting arrested for vending anything. Hot dog vendors were getting handcuffed and put in police cars. We sold jagermeister shots out of our jackets. A cooler was a jail sentence..
thanks it 4 you. :)
Hot Shit! Business as usual ...
JERRY!
Oh yeah❣
masterful
Whew
26:40 a beautiful moment
6:18 Is everyone having fun yet?
What exactly does Jerry think about when he looks directly in some other players eyes?
Is this the John Mutterperl FOB Schoeps?
to my knowledge there was no Blues Traveler on this night.maybe im wrong idk, long time ago
I just hoped I hadnt let it slip. I saw BT at other places. Sometimes it all rolls into one.Especially 25plus yrs ago. You cant believe every fact on the interwebby
No BT . I was 16 saw JGB for the first time Worcester 93
No 2nd set?
25+ years later still trying to figure out who brought their boa constrictor to this show
Does anyone know the chords after the F# at the 36:10 mark? The "to you only, to you on-ly" part.
LonePigsyAndCub Esus2, Fsus2, maybe?
+LonePigsyAndCub the modulating chord is a F9/G in the bass
+mrfish4lyfe Thanks man, I'll try that!
i usually just do a F triad with a G on the high e and let the bass take care of the G in the Bass..same chord down a half step too for the F#
didn't know what you had.
Great shows but not near the energy of fall 89 IMHO
