BCR was a great band. This era was super awesome. Always missed Les, Pat, and Ian, but Duncan and Alan's return was really what the band needed to progress artistically.
The early days were incredible, but cutting ties with Tam and getting Duncan was the best thing possible .. The three albums with this line up are classics in my book .. Ricochet is quite possibly the most underrated, under-appreciated album ever
Totally agree, such a shame more people didn't pay attention to this cracker of an album. Equally as good as any of the Top 50 albums released by other bands in 1981.
Duncan Faureはなんて伸び伸びとしたボーカリストなんでしょう! 最初この歌の出だしをを聴いた時、Alanが歌っているのかと思うくらいでした。 「Tern on the radio」も勿論Duncan の歌声ですが、Alanの「Rock'n roll honeymoon」の躍動感に似ていてとても好きです。 このPVでのAlanの表情と演じている姿がとても生き生きしています。 AlanがDuncanのピアノの側に立って吹いているハーモニカもすごく素敵。
Sweet......remember them ?......tried to change their musical direction in the late 70's as well . The boppers deserted them , but the people that knew got the reward . Same with the Rollers last three albums 👍
the boppers didn't desert them, they grew up. I stopped listening after they fired Leslie. Never cared for Duncan and now here listening again, um yeah...gonna go listen to ones with Les.
There were (and will always be) die-hard BCR/Roller fans...I'm one of many. The main problem with two of the albums (Elevator and Vox) was that the record company--Arista--didn't promote them; neither were even released in the UK! Ricochet wasn't given much of a chance either...radio programmers ignored it. Don't get me wrong...I loved Leslie but Duncan (and all of The Rollers) should have been given more of a fighting chance. Don't get me started on record companies/lawyers. Wish the guys had gotten ALL the hard-earned money that they deserved! Forever A Fan...rant over
I didn't desert them. Loved their music from 75 on...I grew up with it being a part of the background soundtrack of my life. When it started evolving into a more mature sound, I was around 17. I grew with it and absolutely loved their sound from A-Z. I'm still listening to Faulkner's (Falconer) musical creations. The whole catalog of music by these guys is lyrical to me. Still... their last albums were the best. Too bad the powers that be quite them off as untalented early on.
I am looking and listening to this with fresh eyes, and ears. The Rollers were REALLY GOOD!!! Such clever lyrics, and despite all their traumatic experiences , they created something with a sense of fun and humour!
Still one of my favorite Roller songs..bought the album when it came out..never saw this video until 2 years ago? but now I see this song & Life on the Radio are on VEVO! SWEET!!! Still love the Rollers..RIP Alan Longmuir, you're very much missed! Suzanne Neese Idaho
Ok I freakin' love this ! First I'm so glad they were able to let their actual musical talent show. They were so overwhelmed with the boy band product image. Duncan had a great voice, I actually thought it was suoetiir to Les'. This video is the sh*t too, killer sense of humor, great camera work & that WTF moment of red shoes guy hanging in the cell. Very underappreciated !
I love them always. They all looked good. Definitely hear the Queen influence. They will always be number one in my book. Expecially ERIC looks amazing as always.
Wow never heard or saw this video until now. I don't think it ever was released in the USA. Every different sound with Duncan in the band from Leslie as the front man for the BCR. I like it but would have to let it grow on me
"Richochet" was first released as "The Brown Bag" album. I was one of the first to hear it at CBS headquarters in Toronto, ON, Canada. Toronto rock station, Q107 played the Brown Bag album, asking people to call in and guess who it was. People were VERY surprised by who it was!!
I see where you ate coming from but no, this is way off the mark from Cheap Trick, speaking as a 1st generation CT fan. And why is the production on this so bad?
Its little wonder this line up or whatever you wish to call it sunk without trace ..Total Rubbish . They were a good pop band with Mc Keown in front and Coulter writing the songs and had numerous world wide NO 1 s . I take it this rubbish belongs to Faulkner . . And Duncan who . Sound like Queen Thats the joke of the century
I love them always. They all looked good. Definitely hear the Queen influence. They will always be number one in my book. Expecially ERIC looks amazing as always.

This blows away anything they previously did. This is brilliant.

KEEP ON ROLLIN'

Loved this line up. The other four were still in my heart. AndI I loved Duncan.
The Rollers put out some really cool videos in the day. Wish VEVO would put more of them up here...

I love how they handled a extremely hard time in there lives, ripped off by BCR jokers to move forward and keep creating soooooo inspiration.
Nice song. I hear some Queen influences.
I was thinking the same thing. They were definitely trying to shed that bubble gum pop 70s sound.
I think there were definitely some Rush influences also.
I am hearing The Sweet. And Rabbitt of course.
@@ShaNaNa242Rush???? I think not.
Yeah, and maybe 10cc...
Derek is a very talented man who could have played for any band he wanted to and they would have fought over him too .
Thank you, VEVO!
Love this!!

Love it🥰
Alan is trying his hardest not to laugh in the "cell" scenes. Too cute!
Alan 😍😘💕
Love it.
i like this song
当時youtubeがあったらダンカン時代の評価は違っていたでしょうか。
BCRはノビー、レスリー、ダンカンそれぞれ好きです。
レスリー 安らかに。

Japanese:この時代のTV出演とか、貴重映像が見たいですね。
Not bad, but my young heart. 😍💖 for the younger BCR.
This video aired on MTV .
I don't even remember it.
They must've aired it only once because I never saw it.
I never saw it on MTV, 😟

All the guitar smashing at the end reminds me of a Who concert, lol.
Cheap Trick fans would love this band but most would have a hard time getting past the Bay City Rollers angle. Their loss...

In a weird way, this video has a dark Monkees vibe...why I don't know it just does.

Very Queen like
This is "THE ROLLERS" (with South African singer Duncan Faure), it is not really the Bay City Rollers at all..!
Love the change of music.
Mind i'm asking, who is this singer?
Celeste Azarcon , it’s Duncan Faure.
@@DaphneHarridge thank you
Celeste Azarcon , you’re very welcome. 🎵🎵🎵
@@DaphneHarridge Duncan Faure was formerly of the South African group Rabbitt which also included Trevor Rabin who went on to Yes.
Bob Davis , yes, I know. 😊🎶
Never saw this guy before nor heard this song. I think by this time I discovered hard rock and the bands Aerosmith and Kiss.
The first 5 were successfull but i prefer the next four.
1:21 it's Aaron Hernandez

Fired, a train wreck, destroyed by Tam Paton.

That's never our Rollers
Ok what the hell just happened I thought I typed in Bay City Rollers
This is BCR
You just found the REAL Rollers!
My ex fiancé .... This is a relationship with her in a nutshell.
Want the hell?
I guess they figured they had nothing left to lose.
Loved the Bay City Rollers growing up as a kid. Not this though. Sorry. It's 1000 leagues below Queen.
So I take it red shoe guy is a stab at Les...lol
I believe it's meant to be Alan, there was rumours that he attempted suicide.
Would have been a good replacement for Freddie
