She probably knew that she was using (some of ) Catalina Ponor’s floor music and probably was an inspiration to her. Little did she know that 5 years later she would win the gold ahead of Catalina, who would win silver at the Olympics games!! Ironic, awesome and crazy to think about!!!!
I can't belive she used to have Catalina's floor music in her routine. lol and imagine that she will beat her later in London. its so Ironic haha. I'm a fan of ponor's tumbling, especially in 2004. The moment i hear the music I started laughing haha
You guys, all people ever do is complain about American gymnasts not having enough dance in their floor routine. What is dance to you? What is art? You can be artistic without pirouetting throughout the whole thing. Just judging by Aly's expression, and the way she handles herself throughout expression, you can tell she's very serious, and so even her dancing would be serious. Probably by the time she got to London-
You can't blame others for your own actions. If you want to do it again, then do it! All that matters is what YOU think. I stopped training almost 8 years ago, and this past summer I went back to an open gym training session a couple times a week, and I lasted for a few weeks until I couldn't do it anymore because my joints hurt too much, but at least I tried it again after wanting to for so long. So go for it!
I agree her dancing is better when she was younger but the rules have change since they added the difficulty score to routine so they have to focus more on doing the harder stuff and less on dancing.
Thank you hopefully I can!!! Maybe ill try to do an open gym in the summer!! An open gym is when your taught most of the gymnastic things right? Tumbles, bars etc
@tbee20101 I really am not sure but maybe as she became more strong and powerful her muscles tightened up, especialy he shoulders and back . and that would make her look more awkward today. just a suggestion!
I wish that would happen as well. I don't know how you can dance without counting your steps or feeling the counts in the music. It's like.... impossible...
People tell me I wont be able to do gymnastics cause I can't handle it or I'm not gonna be good enough and crap like that. I haven't done it in years... And I wanna again but you know people have to open their mouths.
Those commentators probably had no idea that she would be Olympic floor gold medalist.
Jane Ruppel and 5 years later Shannon Miller would commentate Aly’s Olympic gold medal floor routines!
she did double arabian when she was 13. 5 years later 1.5 twist + double arabian + punch layout -> Gold medal
groud123456 she was 12
Very pretty and amusingly cute it is to watch Alexandra Raisman young doing gymnastics.

and now she is a olympic champion on this event
I love the shimmy shake at 12seconds!!

Aly is a humble queen
I watched a video of her at level 6 states just three years before this. She really took off
She's so good and soo cute!!!
I heard this and I seriously almost died laughing. Catalina's 2004 music... too crazy.
I dont get what's funny about that.
Probably she used to be catalinas biggest fan back in 2004 then she beat her at the 2012 floor final, that's so ironic
wait wait... she did a double turn is 2007.. but only a simple turn at the olympics in 2012?
Pequena extremamente talentosa! 💐💐💐🎶🎶👏👏👏👏

Hopefully Olympic Floor/AA Champ in a few days!!
Her floor song is Gia by Despina Vandi.
Btw it is Catalina Ponor.
and now she a 6 times Olympic models 💖💖👏👏✌
where did her sass and great dance elements go?!
Puberty took it
Wow, Ally Raisman was good when she was young! Well she is still good now.
she is so powerful
Never thought I'd hear "this is a performer" for Aly Raisman. She was a much better dancer here.

Yes, that's it. Thanks a lot
The Americans have NOW started adding it... Kim Zmeskals girls i know are required to do ballet training... hopefully it spreads!

Holy shit she was only 12 and doing Olympic level tricks??
awwwe! so cute!
This is Catalina Ponor`s song from 2004 Athens !!

and now shes an olympian!
Olympic champ you mean! ^^
wow look at the air she gets!!
Current olympic champion.
Is that Shannon Miller commentating?
It was her cup so yeah
She's so cute! But she dances a lot more here than she does now. Music sounds really farmilar though I could just be imagining that.

she looks so tiny, but what a performance :) And her music sounds very familiar to me but I can't remember where I've hear it
catalina ponors floor 2004. late reply i know but its so ironic how she beat her later on haha
who knew 5 years later she would have 3 olympic medals
aww catalina ponors floor music 😭
I wish that would happen as well. I don't know how you can dance without counting your steps or feeling the counts in the music. It's like.... impossible...
-she figured the added difficulty would compensate for the fact that she just doesn't want to wiggle her way to gold.
Why did she stop dancing like this?
People tell me I wont be able to do gymnastics cause I can't handle it or I'm not gonna be good enough and crap like that. I haven't done it in years... And I wanna again but you know people have to open their mouths.
This was choreography from her old gym. She got less artistic when she went to Mihai.
mwright166 no this was a routine from brestyans
No, she's a bad dancer, haha. She admitted that she didn't know how to count in regards to dance.
