My moms an odd mix. Just last night I had a panic attack with anxiety symptoms that lasted for 4 days. The day it triggered and set me off completely into a spiral was on the night we had a shooting and explosion at our next door neighbor. I thought I was fine. Till I laid down and thought I was dying with all the symptoms happening. I called my mom and she said to come to see her. She calmed me down, held me, put on music and spoke to me calmly. She asked me questions and reminded me I did this when I was a kid. But this time I begged her to take me to the er. We get there and she's tired cuz of the day we had. But she usually complains later in some way shape or form that makes me feel awful

Not until a friend recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment changed my life for better. I can proudly say i'm totally clean for 6 years and still counting. Always look to nature for solution to tough problems, Shrooms are phenomenal.

Ive dealt with them alone my whole life. At its worst, my heart rate increases, my chest feel like it'll explode, i feel like I'll faint, and even worse they happen for no reason. I have social anxiety, and have undiagnosed separation anxiety.

Omg same like they’re crazy! I had another panic attack today and it literally came out of nowhere. I was watching a youtube video and I suddenly had trouble breathing. And because I had trouble breathing I got so scared and that made things worse. My heart was beating SO HARD. It felt like it was about to rip out of my chest.
There was this weird heat going to my head (I think it’s called a hot flush) and all I was thinking about was dying. I literally thought it was the end for me there. I ran to my mom, cause she’s the only one that can calm me down. She told me to stay calm, breathe and stop thinking about it. After like 2-4 minutes it went away. I’m so thankful that this one didn’t take long. I had one that took more than an hour and that’s HELL.

@@pangpang6982 I’ve had a similar experience, I was watching a RUclips video aswell, and all of a sudden my heart felt like it was going to explode. I felt it was bad enough to go to the hospital, only to find out everything was normal. I didn’t know what it was until years later, and after multiple other attacks. The fear and confusion was enough to make them last for several minutes, even hours. I’ve made steps toward improvement, but still have quite a way to go

My heart goes out to everyone experiencing this. I just experienced my second panic attack but this time it was not at home but in public. I was in a restaurant and i instantly felt funny. My heart was pounding really fast and hard, my hands got sweaty, i started to get the chills, i felt dizzy, i felt like i was dreaming and i seriously felt like i was going to pass out and die. I thought i was having a heart attack. It got to the point where i started to grab cold water from my cup and started splashing it on my face, fanning myself with the menu and i couldn't keep still. I didn't want to make a scene. My legs felt shakey and weak when i stood up and when i finally got into the vehicle, the sun helped me feel a little back to earth. I felt so weak in the car ride home, like i could fall asleep if i just closed my eyes. It was so hard to think or act normal in the restaurant. I just kept taking deep breaths. Praying to god. Scariest experience of my life!!!!!!!!!!! The first time i experienced a panic attack was when i was cooking meat which i hate but it was for my partner. I instantly felt dizzy, light headed and i couldn't stand anymore, i ended up ditching the food and have someone take over. I kept taking deep breaths and just laid down. Worst experiences of my damn life!!!! I was having a good day too today and this happened. Ugh... anyone experiencing this BREATHE, DEEPLY AND SLOWLY! YOU WILL NOT DIE, YOU WILL NOT PASS OUT AS LONG AS YOU ARE TAKING DEEP BREATHS!!!! SUPPOSEDLY IT ONLY LASTS UP TO 15 MINUTES. BREATHE IT OUT!!!!!!!! YOU WILL NOT DIE, JUST BREATHE!!!!!! 🤍

And the panic is random but because i get nauseous it makes the panic worse. Its silent, but inside theres this horrible feeling in my chest and throat, my hands feel sweaty, my face feel likes its hot and cold at the same time, and i start to kinda tremble, my heart rate and breathing rate quicken, and feel increasingly sick. I also physically cannot do ANYTHING when this happens like if i even get up it makes stuff worse. It comes in waves after that but it gets to the point where im panicking so bad i wish i could just die. Im so scared at that point aswell because i feel so sick and that makes the panic so so so much worse. It lasts for hours until it finally dies down, and then i can never sleep after. and if it happens during the day, i have to leave the room and if someone tries to speak to me it makes everything worse. last time my vision went black and i was really dizzy and it almost felt like the world around me stopped. • @ZanesFacebook
    @ZanesFacebook 3 года назад +61

Most important thing to remember is that it's all in your head.
I've had panic attacks beginning at age 26 until today, when I'm 34.
I get them all the time. I actually had three this week. The head tingling, chest tightness. Panting. Blackening vision.
What worked for me is that I transformed my understanding of it. Rather than accepting that panic attacks are "attacks," or even a panicked state of mind, I just relaxed and let them wash over me.
Panic attacks are scary when someone tells you that you've had one. Because the two words - panic and attack - are scary. But the experience itself isn't scary.
It's no different than the tickle you get on a Rollercoaster. That is - until someone else tells you it's different.
You know how some people need glasses? Well, we don't say they have panic vision, do we? Why not? They need the glasses all the time - there's clearly something seriously wrong with them. They have a chronic, degenerative, disability. Yet poor eyesight isn't really "seen" as being that serious, is it?
So why are panic attacks worse? Why do people with panic attacks feel the need to isolate? While people who are functionally unable to drive cars, run cash registers or operate machinery get a free pass?
If you get panic attacks - remember - there are people that can't see the world correctly AT ALL. Ever. Despite their emotional state, they're unable to read road signs or distinguish objects. Without their glasses, they're functionality impaired FOREVER. They are classically retarded (in the sense that they are less physically developed than usual for their age).
So step one is to stop listening to bullshit videos like this. Because it's all a bunch of shit. You aren't any less capable than someone else.
Your panic attacks only lasts a short while. Their disability is life long and only gets worse. But nobody shames them.
You're "blind" during your panic attacks. Yes, you are. But guess what? It all goes away once it's over!!
If someone with glasses, a person who has accepted slowly becoming blind can live a normal life, then so can we. Our problem is far less serious than terminal blindness.
Yes, I still get panic attacks. Yes, I hear the voices of those around me stretch away like I'm in a long hall. Yes, things go black around me. Yes, it fucking sucks to try and breathe sometimes.
But seriously, I just ignore it. Our bodies are all different. Mine happens to have these unique fail points that most of my friend's don't. So what.
The world isn't ending just because my body is throwing a tantrum. It's just a body. Same as yours.
If this really is "normal" for you, then you can adapt to it. You don't need to lay down and cry every time, just find a seat on a couch and rest your head for a minute. You don't have to announce you're having one. Just have it.
Please, if you experience the same things, don't allow yourself to feel like a victim. Don't let people tell you you're weak.
At least not until they tell people with glasses that being blind is a problem too

I used to have bad panic attacks. The best piece of advice I will give is you have to learn to live with it. It LOVES attention and you can think about anything you want besides your anxiety. You can think about your stocks, loved ones, your fun day planned tomorrow but we had chosen to scrutinize how we feel. The brain is plastic, meaning it changes to how we think about all the time. Spend less and less time thinking about your anxiety and the brain will gradually change. Calm people dont think about panicking

I sat up and had to call my friend because I had become so scared as the same feeling of jolting awake on Christmas Eve. I felt weak and in fear of what would happen so I had to hang up on my friend only able to talk to her for about a minute. I thought I was dying. I really thought I was having a heart attack or something as it was hard to breathe and I was having chest pain. When is calm down and get my heart to stop racing it would feel like I was losing control of my body and going limp so I had to breathe enough to make my heart rate go back up. I ended up in an ER and they did an EKG and said my heart was okay but I will probably have to take anxiety medication in small doses. I’m going to the doctor in about an hour to go see if I need medication. I wish no one had to experience anything remotely close to my panic attack

I remember crying and wheezing and praying (even though im not religious) that my parents would wake up, and i whispering to myself that someone would wake up. I just had a panic attack for the first time and damn that was scary. My heartbeat increased I felt nauseous and super dizzy like I was about to pass out, I was hyperventilating, freaking out and I got super tired. I have no idea why it happened now since I was just in my room watching videos but it still did. I kinda knew the symptoms of a panic attack since I had already watched a few videos on this topic but somehow my first thought was a heart disease so I googled my symptoms (Pls don’t do that) and then I realised it was just a panic attack. I just hope it doesn’t happen again because I really don’t want to experience it again but since I don’t know what triggered it, I think there is still a chance that I‘ll get a new one. I‘m still gonna see my doctor just in case I‘m wrong but since I’m 16 I don’t think there’s much to worry about.

I have had panic attacks since before they were identified. As a child I was sent to see doctor after doctor, checked for epilepsy and monitored for seizures.. I can sense them building, a metallic taste in my mouth, the light headed ness, tingly feeling in my fingers before you pass out. The only remedy for me is to lie flat on the ground and ride it out. Sometime its triggered by injury or stress and sometimes no reason at all. I had one when I first meet my wife, but not at my wedding, nor at the birth of my sons. For me, it’s something that can just happen, and I accepted that. It’s a natural thing, just know the signs your body gives you and find what works to de-stress your mind, and don’t worry about what other people think. I’ve lied flat at my office, in class and on the street but it’s better than causing a different kind of scene. Don’t let it keep you from living your life, it will pass, you will get up feeling better and continue on your way!

I suffered really horribly years ago with panic attacks to the point of almost becoming agoraphobic from them, but haven't had one in many years so I know what I'm talking about here. The way I got better was 1.) I first joined a panic disorder group in my area where I learned pretty much everything about them and how to prevent them. 2.) The first thing to learn and do, is, immediately when you find yourself starting to go into that "panic mode" immediately force your mind onto something else in the room/area - it could be counting the tiles on the floor, studying the landscape, etc. One really good thing to do is to get one of those "find a word" puzzles (where you have many letters shown in a square and you have to find the different words noted). 3.) If you tend to get panicky while driving - look at the car in front of you and look at the license plate - - make words out of the letters on the license plate - for instance, the license plate is RTM 123. I think of a category - - "names" I then force myself to think of names that begin with RTU....Ralph, Thomas, Michael. Then do the same thing to the next car and following. 4.) You have to force yourself to go into those situations where you don't feel comfortable - but do this with baby steps. I tended not to like to sit in crowds or audiences. So I, at first would sit at the very end of the aisle of chairs and only for a few minutes, then slowly over time would work myself up to sitting longer and perhaps in the middle of a line of chairs. So do what you fear in baby steps. 5.) The panic attacks, I believe, are caused by "catastrophic thinking" and hyperventilation. The "diversion" tactic (forcing your mind off of your symptoms and onto something in the room or area) is the fastest way to halt them. You will eventually gain confidence in yourself using these techniques, but give yourself time to get over them. You are not crazy. You are simply "catastrophically thinking". Best wishes and God bless you in your journey.

I’ve had a few panic attacks before but I’ve dealt with them by myself and never told anyone. Today I had my first one in the presence of someone else. I was already feeling pretty anxious with school assignments/exams, applying to transfer schools, and spring classes registration. I absolutely hate asking for money and went to ask my mom for help since she said she’d help pay for all my classes in community college. This is my last semester and I know she said she’d help but I still felt extremely bad.
Once I started talking I had trouble breathing, my heart was beating really fast, my face felt really warm, and my hands started to shake, I had a water bottle in my hand so I tried drinking water but then it felt like I was gonna puke and I ended up spitting all the water out. My mom told me to look at her as she was asking questions but by that time I already had my back to her and wouldn’t dare look at her. I felt ashamed and embarrassed and left as soon as possible to my room and avoided everyone for the rest of the day.
It’s a scary thing to go through, I hate feeling out of control and the constant intrusive thoughts.

I haven't experienced a panic attack myself, but I realize that an ex had panic attacks during some argument. The first time I freaked out, thought she was dying and felt terrible afterwards whinkong I caused it. However, whenever things were getting a bit salty between us, she would react like this, so I genuinely started thinking she was making it up, although I never said anything. I felt manipulated tbh, like a technique to get away with things. She never mentioned anything about those episodes, never saw a doctor, never had a conversation about getting help. Many years later I was in a relationship with another woman who had an attack right in front of my eyes during a difficult conversation. Memories starting popping into my head, and I didn't want to feel like this again so I didn't back up this time. But this girl knew what her case was. I didn't show sympathy with it because I felt that it is not genuine. Whenever things were getting intense they would be like this. I now realise that both of them were having a hard time, and I was an asshole for not believing them. I've never experienced one myself so I can't imagine what it's like, but seeing it in others now that I'm more educated about it made me realise the severity. The moral of this story is that education around metal conditions is important and we need more of it. That first ex might have not been aware about her situation, or too embarrassed to share it with me, and even though every time I did my absolute best to help, not trusting her is bad enough itself. It took another relationship with someone I didn't trust either at the time, but knew her case to realize. Education is important, educate yourselves and you loved ones.

I had experience my first panic attack recently a year or 2 ago. And I had my second one last week. And it was one of the most horrible feeling of my life.
I remember laying in bed, and suddenly (randomly) my hearts starts beating so fast, as if I’ve been running a mile...
Next, I’ll start to have this strong urge /feeling of worry and panic. As if I knew there was a killer trying to break into my house to kill me.
Or I was about to get attacked but something.
My body would kick into flight or fight mode for no reason.
I would start to freak out.
Mind you, on the outside I looked fine, but on the inside I was screaming, crying, scared lost.. everything.
I remember I would feel out of touch with reality when I had my panic attacks..
And no matter how hard I tried to relax, it wasn’t working.
It was as if I had to just wait it out until it stopped on it’s own..
    My hands would start shaking.
And usually my panic attacks happen when I start to stress out a lot.
    It triggers them more..

I had a panic attack twice yesterday. In the morning when it started, I prayed to God. I told Him if He doesn't help me I won't survive. He gave me a song to sing. The song is titled 'Made for War' and it's by 'Ita Udoh' (you can check him here on RUclips.
At first, I tried singing it while lying on the bed but I felt the Holy Spirit tell me it was not going to work that way, I had to get up and sing from my heart. I did just that. I kept on singing and reminding myself that 'I was made for war'; Panic attack is just another enemy that must be defeated in my life. I sang loudly and danced with my eyes closed till it lifted.
While I was singing, I saw myself prophetically, wielding a double sword in the spirit and cutting down thick vines in darkness.
    It was an amazing experience.
Fast forward to later in the evening, it started again. By then, I had a church meeting to attend and it had already begun. I stood in a corner, hidden from the public to cry and pant. Then I saw a sister who is also a leader in the church. O called her and asked her to pray for me.
She rebuked the spirit of fear and anxiety and prayed for me. She told me that God said I should give thanks.
Fast forward to the evening meeting proper, my Pastor sang the same song God had given me in the morning and it was the only song we sang twice from the beginning to the end yesterday! The entire service was 97% music and I joined in at every chance I could get out of my mind battles.
Since yesterday I have been perfectly ok. The cloud of depression, fear, and anxiety is gone. Jesus is amazing!
So to everyone going through this, I'm living proof that there is a solution to this. You must not live with it or take pills for it. Come, let Jesus heal you.

I just started having panic attack this month...it's most likely because my father died 4 months ago and now I fear that every time I have a panic attack it is the same way he felt when he was dying

I’ll just have a panic attack out of nowhere, I need to get up and move, look in the mirror or just see another person to just confirm everything’s ok and that I’m in reality. I know I’ve had anxiety my whole life, I’ve never wanted to get therapy or go on medication for it, because I have enough time to manage it and cope with it, but obviously maybe one day I’ll be too busy to deal with it and need help. but I am scared if I have a panic attack and can’t talk myself back to reality, anxiety causes you to be in a nightmare awake sometimes.

I have panic attacks during the day, but when I had one at night, it was terrifying. It was my first one in a very long time. I woke up feeling like I was dying and paced all around my house looking around, hyperventilating, the tingling was unreal. Lasted for a couple hours. I was horrified to go back to sleep. Called my mom and begged her to take me to the doctor.
A couple months after that, they became more common. Had one a few days ago before bed. I wasn't scared because I knew what it was. Although I did feel an imending sense of doom..

I was playing the game then all of sudden my chest got tight and heavy and I felt like I was being suffocated I stood up paced around also! And also felt like I was dying I prayed to God then ran to my moms room to sit with her. I was so scared. I didn’t know that this could come on instantly with any anxious thoughts

The same thing happened to me from smoking weed. I smoked on an empty stomach which they say never to do and now I feel like there’s a lump in my throat and my chest feels tight causing me to feel like I can’t breath. I manage to calm myself down for a few minutes and then it hits me really hard and I panic all over again. It’s a constant back and forth thing. This happened to me before from smoking weed and the panic lasted for days. How do you usually feel? Would love if you responded

@@felicityglenn3881 for me it starts out as a sensation in my mind I know exactly what it is I know it's about to happen. I've never fully been able to put it into words what it really feels like. It's like a complete sense of overwhelming Doom trapped inside your mind being terrorized and there's no escape. As far as physical things let's see I've had shaking and trembling all throughout my body I've become White as snow. I have lost the ability to talk and if anyone would try to speak to me I would freak out even worse. Sometimes my senses would really heighten in the midst of all this chaos I have heard people talking a block or two away from me I have hit giant garbage containers and moved them. Because when I anxiety attack is happening there's also a giant release of adrenaline and that energy has to go somewhere unfortunately it's trapped up in the attack itself for the most part fueling everything on.

I have a girl best friend who has these and she will start shivering when a panic attack about to happen, and will also hold my hand in fear. Personally I've never had a panic attack, but if it does occur, tell the person to breath heavily, close their eyes and think positive about stuff.

I had my first panic attack on a plane home and even though it was an hour long flight, it felt like the plane was never going to land. I really thought i was going to die on that plane seat. With a person who also has social anxiety, I worried more about what the people around me would think if I had trouble breathing and that maybe I had contracted COVID-19. But my mom was next to me on that flight and she advised me to just focus on my breathing. I don't know what would have happened if my mom wasn't with me that day.

@@Србомбоница86 Reduce negative thoughts to feel better. Your breath is directly related to your mind [brain] causing negative thoughts-anxiety. For a relaxed life sit on a chair, back erect, eyes closed, be still and observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for around 5-10-15 minutes or more. Don’t fight with your thoughts. Slowly they will reduce and relax the mind. No deep inhalation-exhalation or breath counting needed. Anytime of the day or night before sleep sit or lie down on your back and observe your breath. Be as still as possible as it reduces negative thoughts.
