I suffered severe anxiety, panic attacks and mental disorder 20 years ago as a teenage. Got diagnosed with OCD. Spent my whole life fighting OCD. Not until my mom recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 6 years totally clean. Never thought I would be saying this about mushrooms.

100% agree I used to have Psychosis and paranoid thoughts like "people thinking about me talking about me etc. Very odd behavior after getting off Adderall from 7-16. Antidepressants at 18-29. 31 now. I took way to much, but took about 20g of Gold caps (Psilocybin containing mushroom) I analyzed my entire life. The emotions that came out helped me understand behavior etc more. Wont ever need to do it again because I'm happy and contempt forever, but I wish more people did this to alter their perception of reality. Would help with healing much trauma

My moms an odd mix. Just last night I had a panic attack with anxiety symptoms that lasted for 4 days. The day it triggered and set me off completely into a spiral was on the night we had a shooting and explosion at our next door neighbor. I thought I was fine. Till I laid down and thought I was dying with all the symptoms happening. I called my mom and she said to come to see her. She calmed me down, held me, put on music and spoke to me calmly. She asked me questions and reminded me I did this when I was a kid. But this time I begged her to take me to the er. We get there and she's tired cuz of the day we had. But she usually complains later in some way shape or form that makes me feel awful

And because I had trouble breathing I got so scared and that made things worse. My heart was beating SO HARD. It felt like it was about to rip out of my chest.
There was this weird heat going to my head (I think it’s called a hot flush) and all I was thinking about was dying. I literally thought it was the end for me there. I ran to my mom, cause she’s the only one that can calm me down. She told me to stay calm, breathe and stop thinking about it. After like 2-4 minutes it went away. I’m so thankful that this one didn’t take long. I had one that took more than an hour and that’s HELL.

I used to have bad panic attacks. The best piece of advice I will give is you have to learn to live with it. It LOVES attention and you can think about anything you want besides your anxiety. You can think about your stocks, loved ones, your fun day planned tomorrow but we had chosen to scrutinize how we feel. The brain is plastic, meaning it changes to how we think about all the time. Spend less and less time thinking about your anxiety and the brain will gradually change. Calm people dont think about panicking

My heart goes out to everyone experiencing this. I just experienced my second panic attack but this time it was not at home but in public. I was in a restaurant and i instantly felt funny. My heart was pounding really fast and hard, my hands got sweaty, i started to get the chills, i felt dizzy, i felt like i was dreaming and i seriously felt like i was going to pass out and die. I thought i was having a heart attack. It got to the point where i started to grab cold water from my cup and started splashing it on my face, fanning myself with the menu and i couldn't keep still. I didn't want to make a scene. My legs felt shakey and weak when i stood up and when i finally got into the vehicle, the sun helped me feel a little back to earth. I felt so weak in the car ride home, like i could fall asleep if i just closed my eyes. It was so hard to think or act normal in the restaurant. I just kept taking deep breaths. Praying to god. Scariest experience of my life!!!!!!!!!!! The first time i experienced a panic attack was when i was cooking meat which i hate but it was for my partner. I instantly felt dizzy, light headed and i couldn't stand anymore, i ended up ditching the food and have someone take over. I kept taking deep breaths and just laid down. Worst experiences of my damn life!!!! I was having a good day too today and this happened. Ugh... anyone experiencing this BREATHE, DEEPLY AND SLOWLY! YOU WILL NOT DIE, YOU WILL NOT PASS OUT AS LONG AS YOU ARE TAKING DEEP BREATHS!!!! SUPPOSEDLY IT ONLY LASTS UP TO 15 MINUTES. BREATHE IT OUT!!!!!!!! YOU WILL NOT DIE, JUST BREATHE!!!!!! 🤍

I also physically cannot do ANYTHING when this happens like if i even get up it makes stuff worse. It comes in waves after that but it gets to the point where im panicking so bad i wish i could just die. Im so scared at that point aswell because i feel so sick and that makes the panic so so so much worse. It lasts for hours until it finally dies down, and then i can never sleep after. and if it happens during the day, i have to leave the room and if someone tries to speak to me it makes everything worse. last time my vision went black and i was really dizzy and it almost felt like the world around me stopped. And I was only randomly thinking about it, and then immediately, out of nowhere, my heart started pounding fast and hard and started to get one again😩I immediately told myself that my thoughts literally just caused it! • @ZanesFacebook
    @ZanesFacebook 2 года назад +61

Most important thing to remember is that it's all in your head.
I've had panic attacks beginning at age 26 until today, when I'm 34.
I get them all the time. I actually had three this week. The head tingling, chest tightness. Panting. Blackening vision.
What worked for me is that I transformed my understanding of it. Rather than accepting that panic attacks are "attacks," or even a panicked state of mind, I just relaxed and let them wash over me.
Panic attacks are scary when someone tells you that you've had one. Because the two words - panic and attack - are scary. But the experience itself isn't scary.
It's no different than the tickle you get on a Rollercoaster. That is - until someone else tells you it's different.
You know how some people need glasses? Well, we don't say they have panic vision, do we? Why not? They need the glasses all the time - there's clearly something seriously wrong with them. They have a chronic, degenerative, disability. Yet poor eyesight isn't really "seen" as being that serious, is it?
So why are panic attacks worse? Why do people with panic attacks feel the need to isolate? While people who are functionally unable to drive cars, run cash registers or operate machinery get a free pass?
If you get panic attacks - remember - there are people that can't see the world correctly AT ALL. Ever. Despite their emotional state, they're unable to read road signs or distinguish objects. Without their glasses, they're functionality impaired FOREVER. They are classically retarded (in the sense that they are less physically developed than usual for their age).
So step one is to stop listening to bullshit videos like this. Because it's all a bunch of shit. You aren't any less capable than someone else.
Your panic attacks only lasts a short while. Their disability is life long and only gets worse. But nobody shames them.
You're "blind" during your panic attacks. Yes, you are. But guess what? It all goes away once it's over!!
If someone with glasses, a person who has accepted slowly becoming blind can live a normal life, then so can we. Our problem is far less serious than terminal blindness.
Yes, I still get panic attacks. Yes, I hear the voices of those around me stretch away like I'm in a long hall. Yes, things go black around me. Yes, it fucking sucks to try and breathe sometimes.
But seriously, I just ignore it. Our bodies are all different. Mine happens to have these unique fail points that most of my friend's don't. So what.
The world isn't ending just because my body is throwing a tantrum. It's just a body. Same as yours.
If this really is "normal" for you, then you can adapt to it. You don't need to lay down and cry every time, just find a seat on a couch and rest your head for a minute. You don't have to announce you're having one. Just have it.
Please, if you experience the same things, don't allow yourself to feel like a victim. Don't let people tell you you're weak.
At least not until they tell people with glasses that being blind is a problem too

I had this a panic attack 2 hours ago. My first one. I felt no pain but my forehead was driving me nuts. This uncomfortable feeling like your brain is about to fall apart. The worst pictures came up my mind. (I've recently while scrolling randomly on discord seen, how a group of degenerated chinese teenagers throw alcohol at a old man just to light him up. he got burned alive). I couldnt believe my eyes when I saw this. How can you hurt such innocent looking grandpa? Humanity is truly cruel. I've also been afraid of ending up loosing my mind during this panic attack because I had no Idea how intense it could be. (already saw myself in a mental hospital which increased my anixity)
I hope you people are okay.

I had one during school on Friday, the principal was just talking about the lockdown protocols. It wasn’t my worst one, but everything sounded muffled, I couldn’t seem to breathe, my heart was beating super fast, I felt like I was in the smallest place I could fit, and tears started streaming down my face. I’ve had worse ones, but I don’t want to talk about that yet.

I had my worst panic attack of my life last night while I was trying to sleep. I was laying down and I had a sudden jolt of energy while I was about to so sleep. I sat up and had to call my friend because I had become so scared as the same feeling of jolting awake on Christmas Eve. I called her and stood up feeling dizzy and having feelings of warmth rush over my body. I felt weak and in fear of what would happen so I had to hang up on my friend only able to talk to her for about a minute. I thought I was dying. I really thought I was having a heart attack or something as it was hard to breathe and I was having chest pain. When is calm down and get my heart to stop racing it would feel like I was losing control of my body and going limp so I had to breathe enough to make my heart rate go back up. I ended up in an ER and they did an EKG and said my heart was okay but I will probably have to take anxiety medication in small doses. I’m going to the doctor in about an hour to go see if I need medication. I wish no one had to experience anything remotely close to my panic attack

My heartbeat increased I felt nauseous and super dizzy like I was about to pass out, I was hyperventilating, freaking out and I got super tired. I have no idea why it happened now since I was just in my room watching videos but it still did. I kinda knew the symptoms of a panic attack since I had already watched a few videos on this topic but somehow my first thought was a heart disease so I googled my symptoms (Pls don’t do that) and then I realised it was just a panic attack. I just hope it doesn’t happen again because I really don’t want to experience it again but since I don’t know what triggered it, I think there is still a chance that I‘ll get a new one. Your brain thinks there is a fire but there isn't, so it sends out panic signals to your body. act like it isn't a big deal. Tell yourself that the panic attack is harmless and you are safe. I had a panic attack today. I was at a hair dresser and it was I guess expensive. I told my mom before I went that I didn’t want a lot off, or I wanted to get it to my shoulders, so we could go to a cheap place. My mom insisted we went to this hairdrssser, so we did. I told the hairdresser I wanted a little off. She took that as a half on an inch. I have anxiety, and I was too scared to tell her I wanted more. When I walked out, my mom looked disappointed. I felt terrible. I tried telling her my side, ans she started yelling at me. This triggered a panic attack. She called me dramatic and told me to go sit outside so I didn’t embarrass her. I ran outside and cried on a bench, trying to calm down. A police even drove over to me to ask if I was okay. I told him I was fine, even though I wasn’t. Eventually we left, snd when we got home my dad started cursing at me and telling me I am a baby. I am now debating what to do. I haven’t gotten a chance to explain what happened to my mom yet. She and my dad are both furious at me. I wrote a note and placed some money inside explaining I’m sorry. I would love someone’s advice.

You also need to find something that deftect you from fall into panic e.g. your phone number or a difficult math equation. You have to remaind youself That everything is fine, you Are just overreacting, you are not gonna die.
When I had my panic attacks, they are every day at 9pm, when I go to bed.
At first I had panic from vomating and horror games, But then I had panic attacks because of the fear of panic attacks. And I Never told someone.

I've had about 10 mental breakdowns and panic attacks everytime I remember I have math tomorrow
I once was laying in bed and why was thinking about the math lesson tomorrow and my teacher. As more as I thought, the more fear I had. At one point it got so overwhelming that I broke down crying. My math teacher threatens literal kids to throw them out of the classroom when the get an answer wrong

I’ll just have a panic attack out of nowhere, I need to get up and move, look in the mirror or just see another person to just confirm everything’s ok and that I’m in reality. I know I’ve had anxiety my whole life, I’ve never wanted to get therapy or go on medication for it, because I have enough time to manage it and cope with it, but obviously maybe one day I’ll be too busy to deal with it and need help. but I am scared if I have a panic attack and can’t talk myself back to reality, anxiety causes you to be in a nightmare awake sometimes.

Can I say my story? I wouldn't count this as a panic attack? maybe who knows really....anyway... I was sitting in a Hospital for inpatients to not be sad anymore. Anyway, we're in a group and people are so loud. I started...crying....I felt like I couldn't breathe. Then they got quieter as they spoke. I had my head in my arms my hair covering my whole face... including...snot...lots...wait I didn't need to share that...

Situations like panic attacks are often overlooked as "overreacting" or "dramatic" in my country. The experience is honestly scary that I feel helpless even as an adult

Experienced my first panic attack 8 months ago, very scary feeling, I was so uneducated on it and that’s what made it worse. I think we should educate children and adults more on panic and anxiety as it’s likely everyone will get at least 1 panic attack in their life. Set backs are incredibly hard but u always push through it even tho it feels so awful .

I have panic attacks during the day, but when I had one at night, it was terrifying. It was my first one in a very long time. I woke up feeling like I was dying and paced all around my house looking around, hyperventilating, the tingling was unreal. Lasted for a couple hours. I was horrified to go back to sleep. Called my mom and begged her to take me to the doctor.
A couple months after that, they became more common. Had one a few days ago before bed. I wasn't scared because I knew what it was. Although I did feel an imending sense of doom..
    Mental health issues suck

I was playing the game then all of sudden my chest got tight and heavy and I felt like I was being suffocated I stood up paced around also! And also felt like I was dying I prayed to God then ran to my moms room to sit with her. I was so scared. I didn’t know that this could come on instantly with any anxious thoughts

    My first panic attack:
I was in class and suddenly, I couldn’t breathe and it felt like I was in…another world? If felt like I was disconnected from reality but not in a good way. I wanted to cry and I couldn’t focus anymore on what the teacher was saying and I was fidgeting with my hands a lot. I started to feel so scared, I thought I was going to die because of the fact that I had trouble breathing

Idk if i had actual panick attacks or it was just anxiety, but a few years ago especially after an incident, i started to have episodes when my heart beat really fast, i got sweaty, i had cold but sweaty and trembling hands and was light-headed for a few minutes. I didn't think i was going to die or i was having a heart attack, so maybe they weren't panick attacks, but i did worry about other things in my life while it was happening. But it was uncomfortable to say the least and i didn't want anybody to see me like that.
Yeah, that was a tough time in my life, i had insomnia and nightmares and i almost never left the house because i felt like everyone was judging everything i did or said.

I’ve had a few panic attacks before but I’ve dealt with them by myself and never told anyone. Today I had my first one in the presence of someone else. I was already feeling pretty anxious with school assignments/exams, applying to transfer schools, and spring classes registration. I absolutely hate asking for money and went to ask my mom for help since she said she’d help pay for all my classes in community college. This is my last semester and I know she said she’d help but I still felt extremely bad.
Once I started talking I had trouble breathing, my heart was beating really fast, my face felt really warm, and my hands started to shake, I had a water bottle in my hand so I tried drinking water but then it felt like I was gonna puke and I ended up spitting all the water out. My mom told me to look at her as she was asking questions but by that time I already had my back to her and wouldn’t dare look at her. I felt ashamed and embarrassed and left as soon as possible to my room and avoided everyone for the rest of the day.
It’s a scary thing to go through, I hate feeling out of control and the constant intrusive thoughts.

My first panic attack was when I was watching TV. By the way I'm 13 years old. At that time I was watching tv as usual, suddenly my heart was beating very fast, cold sweat, and a little dizzy. At that moment I felt "I'm going to die right now" but I don't want to die, I'm still very young. Finally I prayed and I felt better. Then I worship and my neck feels stiff and feels like floating. I immediately panicked and canceled my worship then my mother comforted me. Until when I wanted to sleep, I couldn't sleep I was afraid I would die in my sleep, because I was so tired I finally fell asleep alone. It's been 12 days now, I've been to the doctor but the doctor is on vacation, so I didn't check. Every time the panic relapses, the characteristics are chest pain, dizziness and a slightly heavy head, shortness of breath. I still don't understand why every panic always thinks about the fear of death. I'm really sad, I want my life to return to normal as before. Sorry if my english is bad😁

Thank you for responding to my experience, I want to ask, is it really a panic attack? I'm from Indonesia and it's very difficult to find a doctor here. I've registered but it's not that easy to check. This really annoys me, I have to study, test, have fun and etc. I always experience this panic all the time, but when I'm at home this panic subsides. But at school, at the mall, I always overthinking in public places and finally I feel dizzy until I want to pass out, shortness of breath, blurry vision, jaw feels stiff, teeth sometimes ache, chest hurts, hands and feet go weak, that's all I experience every time the panic flares up. . If I'm just anxious, my heart beats fast, my neck hurts a little, then my legs go limp. Every time I worry I always think I'm afraid to die. Every morning when I wake up I'm always a little anxious but that's normal, but the recurrence was in the afternoon, it was really torturous and really scary. Maybe it can't immediately tell why this is, but if the symptoms are like this, is this really a panic attack?
