You do need to take the valve cover off since it is jammed in by the cover. But I was able to create a small door using a sharp utility blade being careful not cut deep. You should be able to close it with the same 10 mm bolt and silicone to seal it good. Blessings

Do you have to change the camshaft sensor after you do your timing, what if you put it in before you realized your timing was off and tried starting the car a couple times then fixed the timing, does it affect the way the sensor works? spark plugs
      Fuel filter
      Spark plug cables or coils
      Plugged cat converter
      Cam sensor

Replaced my cam position sensor with a Duralast from Auto Zone. Still cranks, and doesnt start, the engine has 123,000... not too bad for a 2002 civic LX 1.7L. I put a new timing belt on 2 months ago, and also a new denso crank position sensor.. Am thinking the autozone duralast one is no good... when I crank the engine the tach does nothing with the original cam sensor...I understand the tach should show 250 rpm on cranking, but it doesnt , so leads me to believe the cam sensor is bad..............Should I get an OBD code reader to be sure, or could this be a relay???????? When I did the initial scan, we had 2 codes - P0366 Crankshaft Position Sensor range/performance problem and also the P1361 Camshaft Position Sensor.
I swapped out the Camshaft Position Sensor because that was the most concerning when it would shut down my brother's car when driving, I didn't touch the Crankshaft Position Sensor though. After reconnecting the negative to the battery (disconnected for about 1hr), I ran another scan and both codes had cleared.
Could they be related to each other or should I also be looking at the Crankshaft Position Sensor?
I also cleaned the throttle body and changed his spark plugs.
    Thanks again, my man!
