I think this is the beautiful part of "Afterlife" as it opens up so much. Many of us have ordered the Hasbro pack. I have as well. I went with the Fox frame.
This is the fun part in the genius of what Jason Rietman did. We can be screen accurate if we want. However, the story itself opens up so much interpretation to the time since Egon left that pretty much any mod to the pack frame, or the pack itself, is open to individual interpretation. 30 years of evolution possibilities. It works on so many levels.
Ordered one through the amazon link in the description, was delivered today and got the correct one with the squared off openings. Good price and they shipped to the UK for a very reasonable amount.
Will be following you're channel closely for more tips so I can make this hasbro pack as authentic as possible.

I was doubting to order one real Military LC-1 or LC-2 but your video convinced me to order one of amazon, its the right one and screen accurate I'm happy with that. I think to much work needs to be done converting the LC-2.
This is very timely as I was wanting to order one and not knowing which to get. Gbfans carries the Fox one and the Rothco 2255 is all over eBay

I saw video with Adam Savage and I knew wanted the pack to look authentic. I ordered mine recently.
I picked up a Rothco from Amazon back in November. It is the same as yours.
I'm in Canada and i was able to order a Rothco frame from a Canadian chain of airsoft/milsurp stores called Camouflage for $75CAD(about $60usd). I can confirm that it has the square openings in the frame and triple stitched straps with a single quick release

I will be getting the LC1 and GB1 straps and kidney pad from GBfans, I’ll also be removing the Afterlife Greeblies, I’m going for a 84’ pack. I’ve spent the past week dremelling off the fake wood grip and doing other mods to the Spengler wand also..
I'll be doing the same with all of the Afterlife greeblies on my HasLab pack.
That's the same frame my Spirit Pack is mounted on. I'm debating if I'll re-use it or just get another one. Leaning toward the latter.
Great video man. I have a OG military LC-2 frame which I picked up a while ago. I hope that one manages to work with the Haslab Pack despite it being made for LC-1 frames. The Rothco one is nice and while accurate to the film, I wanted to use a real military frame.
It should be fine. The key difference between all the frames are the straps. The frames themselves have the same general dimensions.

Yeah, the military ones are sturdier and if you paint it black it’ll be very close.
@@Ruperick well and that the back bars are bent and stick out a bit more. Might be a problem with a flush surface such as the pack?

Get ahold of Nic Farnsworth through most GB related build FB pages. He makes very nice straps and frames to accurate reproductions

Ive got an authentic field used 80's lc-2 frame without straps. I know the pack will come with mounting equipment and hopefully instructions on how to install it. But ahead of time, would I need to do any drilling on the spine part of the frame so it can be mounted to the pack?
Don’t drill anything until you have the pack. We don’t know where the pack mounting points will be.
@@TheProtonPackIsNotAToy and we don’t know how big we’ll need to drill the holes. But I’m mainly wondering if hasbro will make it so an lc-2 frame can be mounted because the page only mentions it being lc-1 compatible.
The differences are minimal. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Hasbro team doesn’t know they both exist.
@@TheProtonPackIsNotAToy I agree, the differences between each is minimal, and hopefully they did take that into consideration. It's best to order the LC-1 frames now, before the packs ship out in March of 2023.
And, as it turns out, Hasbro's included hardware only works with an LC1. The LC2 might work with custom mounting hardware.
So I ordered the Rothco one for my haslab pack. Are you sure this will fit no problem on the haslab? I’m reading different opinions online between ac-1 and ac-2 packs for the haslab. Rothco is ac-1, yes? Lol
That’s the one I bought (and the one that’s on the Afterlife packs in the movie). It’s made to mimic the LC-1 frame. From what I’ve read the LC-2 isn’t fitting due to the way it bows out a little more than the LC-1.

Yes, the genuine military surplus LC-1’s are harder to find. For the HasLab a Rothco frame from Amazon is just as good and more accurate to the Afterlife prop. A heavy pack would not do well on a Rothco, though.

My problem is I can't find the Rothco with the matching straps with quick releases on both sides.
He touches on it in the video, but they used mismatched straps, you're not going to find quick releases on both sides. You'll need to cannibalize a second set.
@@Doctors_TARDIS That's the weird thing though.. he and others believe they're both RIGHT straps with the quick release. The current Alice frames/strap sets only come with a single quick release on the LEFT strap. So no clue where the right straps are coming from.
They are an older variant from Rothco. They both had QR with green snaps
Watching this now, haven't finished the video yet, but the frame used in the movie is 100% a Rothco. Fox outdoors isn't even close to accurate.
