Great video! The only other thing I would recommend as a suggestion to anyone who plans on taking their pack apart would be to work on top of a towel or blanket. This will avoid any scuffing on the pack and will also help to catch any loose screws that fall out.
Their's aguy on RUclips called RS Sqaud/he's carefully taken his Haslab 1:1scale proton pack apart between 14/15times. Just so's that he can installed the latest electrical mods but when you see the end result it looks incredible +he's done som electrical mods for the Haslab 1:1scale Neutrina wand as well
My dude. Bought a pack off the secondary market. Was about to go SAVAGE on it trying to get it apart then had the common sense to you google. You’re doing the lords work. Also that last screw WAS a bitch.
That's totally the main thing I want to do too. So I see it's easy to remove it from the back, but what about the front? Like it's embedded into that connector piece that attaches to the cyclotron. So ripping that apart freaks me out that I might damage that plastic piece you need for the thing to work, and how exactly am I going to connect a new ribbon cable to that? Maybe a little hot glue and hope it stays in. I don't know man, just wish hasbro thought that out a lot better considering that way too grimy looking crappy ribbon cable is the main thing we want to get rid of.
Cool video im getting a used proton pack from eBay for parts now I know how and to look for when taking it apart 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻does that pack power work without the motherboard on it ? Mine doesn't do you know how i can find a OEM replacement main board?
Thank you this helps for when the time comes. What really needs a demo is taking apart the cover of the cyclotron. I would like to wire in different lights or put them in another orientation, put light diffusers by the lenses, or possibly disable some of the lights. Really bothers me that the light is 3 lights in a perfect row. I can’t for the life of me figure out how to disassemble the cover though. It has to be just a lot of clips holding it in place but I don’t want to wreck everything trying to figure it out
That’s a bummer. I’ve seen people putting a layer of tape around the connector before adding the loom and that has helped some with connectivity. Have you tried that?
What size of screwdriver did you use? I managed to get all of the screws out using a PH2, except for the second inset screw on the left hand side. My screwdriver couldnt clear the socket and got stuck when it came to that one.
Hey there great video! Does the V-hook mount have nuts on the back of the screws or are they built into the body? Meaning if you remove them without taking the motherboard off will they fall into the pack and rattle around?
I've heard some folks say that if you want to change out the v-hook, the existing mounts don't align with most standard hooks. Do you know if there's any truth to this?
No, I don’t. I’ve seen the clip of the GBfans hook being added and it required a little drilling to widen the holes. That’ll probably be the route I take eventually.
I have a request - can you show us what that redunant grey secondary switch near the centre of the front shell looks like from the inside. Does it look like you can hook something to it?
Yeah, Adam does have an over abundance of enthusiasm for things like this. I watched that video of his taking it apart to mod it - very cringe worthy for sure! What is the total screw count for removing the back panel?
So, do you think this pack is sturdy enough for event use, or is is more of a display piece, and recommend something heartier, like the Mack’s pack, if and when we can finally complete one for wearing out and about at cons, etc?
Can anyone recommend a good V-hook? Something that's easier to hook onto while wearing the pack? The stock one is impossible to use without looking at it.
@@TheProtonPackIsNotAToy That's why the movies only show them pulling it off, never putting it on 😂. They have to hold it or attach it to a fob on the belt 😋
I am about to open mine and add a forever on mod and attach a rechargeable battery, I have been worried about doing so until I watched your video. Between that and the mods I am doing are plug and play, this seems pretty easy.
@@janderson0719 Yeah, Hasbro doesn't have access to metal. I forgot. They also in no way, (which they do and did) be able to license this to a place that COULD make them actually WORTH the price. Maybe when they were in the shops they weren't so over priced. Paying that much for thing cheap plastic is extremely stupifd

‘I don’t think he gives a damn’
The scuffing is welcomed with the afterlife look.
Oh I knew a video like this was coming. Yes as much as I dig adams work, his enthusiasm can lead to damage. You earned a new sub here. Great video

Had no idea I had to take off some extra in the front. Thanks for showing.
THIS IS WHY I'M SUBSCRIBED TO YOU!!!
Thanks again, Matt, for all of the videos for the HasLab pack.
Very informative! 👏 now I feel confident swapping my ribbon cable. Thanks man! 👍

Yeah, I agree, but that won’t be something I attempt. Out of my range.
This helped me out lots, many thanks
Thanks! My pack came defective (no power to the wand, nothing come from the plug) That will help a lot for my repairs!!
That’s a bummer. I’ve seen people putting a layer of tape around the connector before adding the loom and that has helped some with connectivity. Have you tried that?
I was hoping it was a full teardown. How does the cyclotron lid come apart to access the lenses?
This is hugely helpful… thank you so much!!!!
Love the video. And thanks for taking the time to figure out the back part. 😁👍

I haven’t given it more than a glance. I intend to swap it out with a GBfans v-hook soon.
Ok stupid question but how do you get the tubes back on that fell off?

Thanks for another great video
I've only taken mine apart a few times but I always forget to remove the darn cyclotron and the core inside.
Is it bad if one of the screws don’t go back in place
probably..
This helped. Thanks. Adam was .......Savage. I couldn't watch the whole video.
So, do you think this pack is sturdy enough for event use, or is is more of a display piece, and recommend something heartier, like the Mack’s pack, if and when we can finally complete one for wearing out and about at cons, etc?
I’d totally take it out, but be mindful of bumping into things or people. I’d also hold the wand rather than trust the stock v-hook.
mildly related, is there a nice way to get the tip off the wand without destroying it?
Oooh, not sure. Never thought to try.
Has anybody heard the mini puft or slimer sounds in the pack? I have 2 of these and haven’t heard them yet.
No, evidently they play when you mess with the ribbon cable clamp a lot.
These vids are so helpfull. Want to beef up my speaker 😁
Can anyone recommend a good V-hook? Something that's easier to hook onto while wearing the pack? The stock one is impossible to use without looking at it.
Reholstering a wand is difficult with any v-hook. I usually slip a strap off one shoulder to reach it.

I want to fix the stupid timer the pack has but idek how to do that 💀
wanted one till i saw they were 1,700 USD on ebay and made out of all plastic
What else would it be made of from Hasbro?
