Thank you - there are not a ton out there, and we are super small. I'd love to see a few of the big guys myself. It took us all day with that many people to do just under 200. Roberts Bee Company (I get early packages from them) can crank out a LOT more than that before lunch!
Good work fellas! This information is important. Helps new beekeepers know what a strong colony should look like and how much work pro beekeepers do to make packages up.
@@woodcampfarm5597 In one video I watched a beekeeper who created 340 colonies out of 40 colonies. So on average, it can create 7 or 8 new colonies from one colony.

That’s one heck of an operation. I do prefer to raise nucs. It seems less stressful on the bees . Also do y’all do mite checks on all the colonies before shaking bees ?
These cowboys aren't using a smoker which would probably help settle the bees down; apparently their priority is to load bees into boxes. Then find a queen, full speed ahead.
That's a LOT of bees. Interesting. I have never seen this on a level this large. most beekeepers here are hobbyists and only do this to produce 1-2 swarms to replace a lost colony.
Just throw in an queen excluder between the two boxes a week priir to shaking, so you just have to look for open young brood and not have to locate the queen itself
I subscribed to your channel and watch your videos. If this idea is wrong, I apologize because I use a Google translator and I’m not sure how reliable it is in English. Take care not to be upset
You're not wrong, it would be a little faster. Mark as we see them is always on the list, but always moving to fast to pull it off. We did see most queens on the first pass though.
I am an Italian beekeeper and I don't like what I see at all. Bees are not objects. I would never buy anything like this and I hope no one else will. Lorenzo

Why package bee's?? It's way to rough way to slow for build up way to much failures once sent way way to much stress for the bee's it's a disaster.. sell nucs so much easier, so much more pleasant for the bee's and keeper..
Heck yeah! Watching from Prince George, Virginia.,14 hives ready for winter.
Good luck this winter, will see what get weather wise!
Much kinder than most I have watched. Thank you. I would buy your packages.
Thank you!

Very cool. I had no idea you guys where near. Next year if I need to I'll be buying. I'm Eastern Shore.
Where on the shore? I'm setting up a couple of yards in Chestertown this spring for a friend

Crazy town!! I've always wondered how this was done!
good luck with your work
Is all of this equipment custom made or there are outfits that sell these? They seem to look very similar but I never see a supplier. Thanks
That was cool. Just watching the system of how you make your packages was amazing. Gives new meaning to working hard.
It's still just an over grown hobby that I / we have fun with!
how are those hives not swarming?
You do a really nice job handling those packages.
Thank you, we try.
Outstanding
Where do you the cans of syrup
What is the size of the feed cans that go in the shipping cages?

Did those bees come off the almonds? They are booming hives for sure.
Nope, no almonds. To be fair, there was some serious drift at the end of the line where we started the video. Most were not that full.
Hello. How many packages of bees do you produce in a season from 1 hive
1.5 to 2, only do one round. Folks that do a ton of these south can hit them 3 or so times and do more. I'm just trying to take the swarm out of them

What happens if You guys accidentally put two hives in the same package?
Do that all the time, they mix fine like this, especially in spring
These cowboys aren't using a smoker which would probably help settle the bees down; apparently their priority is to load bees into boxes. Then find a queen, full speed ahead.
Oh we were definitely using smokers
OMG how many bees !
Doing the math on total indivudual bees can be entertaining
You can use air to remove bees from the hive. Bees would be less harmed

True, good point
Do you do nukes as well or just packages
We do a few hundred nucs as well. Keeps me out of trouble!

Thank you for the video.
How many packages do you average per colony?
Looks like a great system.
Thank you for watching. In the end we ended up with about 1 package per colony as an average. That counts some that we could not shake at all.
Why not mark the queens so they are easier to find

I sell nucs too, each have the pros and cons. Especially in my area. Very early flow.
