Silly swarm catching! My 7 months pregnant queen bee standing in the middle of two swarms - that become one. We find two queens along the way.

Taking a quick looking at an expansion mating nuc yard. There are about 100, 2 way mating nucs here (200 mating nucs). This new section had cells put in 16 days ago. These queens will be pulled and sold in another two weeks or so. Will do one more round of cells before we start prepping them for winter.

Today we made packages from hives in Maryland. We are a very small operation and not nearly as fast as the big guys. March 6th - A follow up to the Feb 21st feeding, we check back to see if they bees are making use of the syrup and Global Patties. A combination of Global Pollen Patties and Nutra bee Pollen sub is fed. Not everything is perfect, we hear the roar of a queen less hive.

Some practical advise from Eric on what to do if someone who is allergic to bees gets stung. Nothing beats talking to a doctor, but if you're in an emergency situation, at least you see the basics!

A check on a few of the Carniolan Breeder queens that were introduced last fall. I'll be grafting and producing queens all year from them, so they get a lot of my attention (and a little spoiled).
