Flood fill now works perfectly in Unity :)

Best node ever. Directional Warp distorts things too much, I'm only using this from now on. How is Allegorithmic so awesome?

Hi when plugging in my flood fill (using designer 2018.2.2) like at 1.57 my flood fill just produces a yellow colour fill where the 'planks' are represented. Any ideas? Thanks.
Solution: Change rendering engine to 'Direct3D'-Press 'F9' if any needs to know :-)

thanks alot for that usefull informations :) i have a question can you tell me simply whats the meaning of (vector map) ?

This is fantastic, but after plugging the blend of this vector where the Directional Warp used to go, the overall effect is less intense and I don't know how to increase it. The intensity of the original DW node is being driven by the original Warp output, so how is this intensity done with the Vector Warp (since it doesn't have an intensity input)?
I've tried pinching the gamma via a levels adjustment-nada-and none of the function nodes are allowed on the grid, among many other things that aren't working as well.
Sorry for the noobishness, but I'm only in my first week of learning this tool-which is pretty stellar btw.
Thanks in advance and thanks for the great tutorials as well.
edit:: The intensity parameter in the vector warp has little effect. I tried over driving this value, but that doesn't do anything either.

Ah, I think the issue might be that you are only using the slider at a max of 1. In Designer you can double click a slider and type in a new value range. In my case, I used 45 for the intensity. I'm sorry for the confusion on that. It's not easily apparent how that works.
The function nodes can only be used in a function graph. We also have a getting started series which may be more helpful. It's for an older version but the basics are the same. I will be updating the Designer tutorial for beginners very soon. tutorials.allegorithmic.com/courses/538aff9f48cd9442b6001a528682ffc6/youtube-NzKtubDsC9o

Hello, my flood fill is working different than it should be, it just paints the tiles in just one big blue to purple gradient. its seems that it doesn't detect the black lines even tho I try to fix it using edge detect. Please help

It sounds like the flood fill is breaking. On the flood fill node, set the Safety/speed setting to No Failure. This should fix it.

Flood Fill nodes not working in Unity -
Does this mean as long as you use the material in Substance Painter your end result will work, but not if you export the substance directly ?
Also, does that also hold true for Unreal Engine?

This video is fairly old and we have updated the engines so that Flood Fill now works in Unity and UE4.

    I can't find Flood fill node. I use 6.0.2.

The Flood Fill node is in Substance Designer 2017.

  •  6 лет назад

Hello, no flood fill node, i use the 2017.2.2. Why?

    • @Substance3D
      @Substance3D  6 лет назад +1

Hmm, that is strange. You should have the flood fill node. It was introduced in 2017.2.0. If you hit the space bar and type flood in the search, you don't get any results?

Nope, same problem, no results at all when I type flood, I use 5.6.2
