I'm 69 years old and have never heard this song before. You have done justice to it, believe me! That look on your face when you know you killed it was worth it. Thank you.
Charles Aznavour 's original version is probably my favourite but Elvis Costello 's version is also good. This is an excellent cover too. Such a beautiful song
Wow!!! This is the best cover of this song I’ve ever heard. I feel guilty about saying that I like it better than both Charles Aznavour’s and Elvis Costello’s, but it’s the truth. Just beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
I'm aware Costello didn't write the song. My performance is based on listening to and interpreting the Costello version. It's what I'm most familiar with. Much like someone may refer to an 'Elvis Presley' or 'Frank Sinatra' song/cover even though neither of them wrote many of their songs or hits. In any regard, and especially being a songwriter myself, I happen to appreciate the songwriters also. I've included mention of the original songwriters in the video description.
She may be the face I can't forget A trace of pleasure or regret May be my treasure or the price I have to pay She may be the song that summer sings May be the chill that autumn brings May be a hundred different things Within the measure of a day She may be the beauty or the beast May be the famine or the feast May turn each day into a Heaven or a Hell She may be the mirror of my dreams A smile reflected in a stream She may not be what she may seem Inside her shell She, who always seems so happy in a crowd Whose eyes can be so private and so proud No one's allowed to see them when they cry She may be the love that cannot hope to last May come to me from shadows of the past That I remember 'til the day I die She may be the reason I survive The why and wherefore I'm alive The one I'll care for through the rough and rainy years Me, I'll take her laughter and her tears And make them all my souvenirs For where she goes I've got to be The meaning of my life is She, she Oh, she

And you did well, it is such a beautiful song we have Charles Aznavour to thank for but that doesn't need to mean that bwe cannot enjoy ither people's versions.I also love it performed by Elvis Costello@@chrisphoenixmusician
All I can say this beautiful version should be edited into the movie Nothing Hill's ending on all future Blu-ray releases or streaming versions of the movie. The Elvis Costello version is horrible, it is out of key and just about almost ruins the movie. It's like scratching a chalkboard.
ruclips.net/video/dilzADMBMwA/видео.html it's a big risk singing a classic like this... It's more than learning words/lyrics to interpret a song like this... Elvis took a huge risk, but found the passion of the song, I think you are not there yet... especially in the middle 8 key change, your voice is restricted and not at ease, perhaps you should try it a tone lower... friends won't tell tyou that, but your singing is not up to standard. I don't feel the passion of the song, in your performance.
EN LA MARAVILLOSA VOZ DE CHARLES ES ESPECTACULAR DIVINA ❤❤❤❤❤

Amazing! I love the Original but this is beautifully covered.

Amazing, great feeling you put into it.... always loved that song from Elvis Costello
Thanks Ivan, really appreciate your feedback
The composer is Charles Aznavour, not Elvis Costello.
Bravo!!
Many thanks Chiara!
Velmi velmi dobré! Líbí se mi i civilní přirozený projev bez velké okázalosti.
I don't understand why you don't have thousands of followers. incredible! Congratulations on the great interpretation.
Thanks for your encouraging words, means a lot :)
Increíble canción y felicidades al cantante
Thank you for your feedback :)
Elvis costello is not the original artist of SHE. This song was created by Charles Aznavour, a French singer of Armanian origin, in 1975.

Not understanding who this person is who is singing She. He doesn't look like Chris Phoenix. Certainly sung beautifully.

She may be the face I can't forget
A trace of pleasure or regret
May be my treasure or the price I have to pay
She may be the song that summer sings
May be the chill that autumn brings
May be a hundred different things
Within the measure of a day
She may be the beauty or the beast
May be the famine or the feast
May turn each day into a Heaven or a Hell
She may be the mirror of my dreams
A smile reflected in a stream
She may not be what she may seem
Inside her shell
She, who always seems so happy in a crowd
Whose eyes can be so private and so proud
No one's allowed to see them when they cry
She may be the love that cannot hope to last
May come to me from shadows of the past
That I remember 'til the day I die
She may be the reason I survive
The why and wherefore I'm alive
The one I'll care for through the rough and rainy years
Me, I'll take her laughter and her tears
And make them all my souvenirs
For where she goes I've got to be
The meaning of my life is
She, she
Oh, she
Great cover!!!
Thank you :)
Bonita interpretación.
Thank you Silvia :)
botou pra lá irmão. congratulation
Thank you very much 🙏😊
hERMOSA INTERPRETACIóN! bRAVOOO
Thank you very much :)
this song was written by Charles Aznavour and Herbert Kretzmer
@@Fleetingbluesband so I’m aware of. It’s mentioned in the description.
@@chrisphoenixmusician I hadn't seen that, did you add that later? The Title you use is She - Elvis Costello, it's disrespectful to the writers.
Wow
lindo!!!
gracias!
Look it up, Costello covered the French singer songwriter !

She performed by Charles Aznavour is the best❤
He wrote a great song. I learned it about 3 years ago, just prior to this video. Have always enjoyed singing it.
